The staff is fabulous. We couldn't be happier. The apartment is more than adequate and the amenities are great.

I don't live there but my parents like it a lot and find the staff and residents friendly. They typically don't have to wait long for their request/questions to be addressed.

I love this place. They have great administration ( name removed and name removed). They are very informative. The place is like a hotel. It is clean and modern. The residents are welcoming, helpful and friendly. It is conveniently located around all necessities. There is a food plan, delivery and other options other than cooking. They have transportation service through the township. It is a great place to live! The activities that they have are book club, bingo, board /card games, chair yoga, ice cream socials, bible study, a lunch bunch (tenants who go out on a monthly lunch together)and much more! You can use my name). Extra: the landscape is impeccable, spacious safe apartments, attentive maintenance. It gives the tenants a sense of independence, luxury and the stress free living. No worries about maintaining a home or the expensive overhead. There are 2 patios where residents can sit, talk and relax. The lobby looks chic and hotel-ish. The re is a pleasant aroma upon entering. It is a cozy, relaxing and productive environment. It is secure and safe.

We are unsure about the quality of care services since it is independent living and we do not think he receives care. The meals he has to get I was getting him freshly. They went out of business. When it comes to the activities he likes them called him on the 4th and he just came in from a pizza party he said was fun And I think it's very affordable. [name removed] is very happy there. He's a special need man. And the staff always help him. He just got indoor garage space I think it's [fee removed] a mo. It only took a year to get it. He signed up right away last June I believe

Since I don't reside there I don't have a lot to say but the staff responded in a timely manner, the place is inviting and clean. The underground parking is a nice option if it's available. I would recommend it to other families.

Poplar Creek Village is a wonderful place, my brother loves it there. The staff are great with his care. The manager [name removed] is very hands on. I really cannot say enough good things about them and my brother is doing great since moving here. We looked at a lot of different places and this facility was definitely the best. I would definitely recommend them to others looking.
Horrible experience! There are a very few caring and compatinate people there, but that doesn't make up for the majority including management that don't seem to care or know how to take care of residents or interact with their families.

Dad was in this home. Everything was great until they changed their staff, probably management. When I would call to check on Dad, they would not answer. I left so many messages and nobody called back. They ignored us. Dad called us multiples times because he was soaked in urine and no-one came to help him when he tried to call the nurse. We called and after multiple calls finally got a nurse said she would be with him in 10 minutes. Dad called again in 45 minutes and no-one had been with him. I called back and she said she was on her way to him. I told her "That was 45 minutes ago!" This happened a lot. When Dad was in his final moments we went to see him. They allowed us in covid. The nurse told us he could hear us, so talk to him and she walked out of the room. His head was hanging. No, he could not hear us. He was dead! She didn;t even know this because she paid little attention to him. When we picked up his things they gave us garbage bags filled with new expensive clothes and had put horrible smelling soiled towels and bedding in with the nice clothes. This was clean, folded clothes! We had to throw it all out. Completely gross!!! Do NOT use this place. They don't care. No respect toward the elders.

I would rate them higher than a 5 if I could. It is a wonderful place. The staff is so kind. They are great at communicating with me if there is a problem. The food is wonderful. They have several outdoor patios and a sunroom for residents to use. They have a library and a craft room.

The care was good, but I was not happy with the administration. I have tried but was not able to get in touch with the director. No one is getting back to me. The caretakers were wonderful. My brother was in memory care. They were able to access him in Maryland prior to him moving in which was helpful.

I would NOT RECOMMEND this place! They are ALWAYS SHORT OF HELP! OVERWORK THE GOOD HELP! THE HELP IS ALWAYS ON THEIR PHONES OR ARE HIDING BECAUSE THEY DON'T WANT TO DO THE WORK THEY SIGNED UP FOR! YOUR LOVED ONES GO DOWN HILL FAST! BAD MANAGEMENT! SOME OF THE HELP DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO WORK WITH DEMENTIA.,THEY ARE NOT NICE TO THE RESIDENTS ,DON'T BRING NICE THINGS THERE OF YOUR LOVED ONES, THEY WILL DISAPPEAR THRU THE HELP OR RESIDENTS! MANAGEMENT LEAVES AT 5P, AFTER THAT THERE IS NO MANANGEMENT ON SITE!

Excellent appearing facility. Staff appeared caring and enthusiastic about their work. [Name removed], sales counselor, is a great ambassador for Brookdale. Estimated cost on the high side. Though mileage itself is not a big factor, the traffic load makes it quite time consuming.

The experience is a very friendly and caring place. It has a feeling of comfort as the surrounding is very homey. A good choice.

Be mindful if you are considering their higher functioning Dementia unit. If your loved one does not exactly fit their mold for their higher functioning unit, they will be sneaky about the way they go about getting your loved one into their lower functioning unit and in turn this sneaky behavior will make your loved one’s dementia much worse. I saw this first hand with a friend’s mother. There were many issues that made it very difficult to trust them. Had they been transparent there would not have been an issue. There are other places dealing ONLY with Dementia that is much better for your loved one.

[Name removed] with A Place For Mom helped me find Brookdale in Hoffman Estates for my father. He is in the memory care side of assisted living. It's been a wonderful place for my dad since he can't be home. So much better than a nursing home. Everyone there is very friendly and helpful. The only reason i would not give it 5 stars across is the food has a bit to be desired. I would recommend this senior living as a great alternative to a nursing home.

I toured here when looking for a place for my parents. From what I saw, it was a very nice facility. The people were super, but they don’t accept Medicaid or anything like that. When I toured, it kind of seemed like a hotel more so than a community. Everything was clean and very nice but it felt like more of an institutional environment and not that homey. There was a dining service when I was there and I saw some people having dinner and watched the staff help some of the other residents get around. Overall, they were better than average and everything seemed nice.

A Place for Mom has scored Poplar Creek Village 9.5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
