Parkcliff is a memory care facility that is set up like a home rather than a nursing facility. The caregivers are are empathic and know their residents well. They keep me informed of any needs or incidents. The supportive and office staff are caring for the residents and their families. My husband has adjusted well and seems content which helps me tremendously. I believe that this is the right place for him.

Our loved one has not been there since [date removed] but we really enjoyed having my mom at Parkcliffe Community for the short time she was there. Based on the experience we would definitely recommend this community to other families.

Parkcliffe has been a gift for letting me be a daughter and not a full time caregiver. My mother's dementia diagnosis has proved more difficult to accept and manage than I ever expected. Difficult getting updates & communication at times.

Excellent to know someone is available 24/7 to be with an elderly parent when I can’t be. Knowing that they are getting proper nutrition, medication on a regular basis, and help with basic needs when needed is wonderful thing. She fought for years saying she was fine living alone, but now admits that having others around to assist when needed is much better than living alone.

They are friendly, but a little understaffed. The food is good. The facility could be kept cleaner. My mother in law seems to be satisfied there.

Mom was lonely and didn’t want to eat and got done to 87lbs before she moved to Parkcliffe. A year later mom is now up to 135lbs and she is 5ft 7in. She loves having lots of friends to talk with each day! It’s made a huge difference on her out look in life in general.

So far so good. I love the fact that my loved one has a private room. I love the fact that we can come and go whenever we want to visit. We can hang out there and we even had his birthday party there, which was nice. There's lots of widows and lots of light. The other residents are friendly and nice, and he seems to fit in well with them. And the care he's receiving has been good.

Our family had an in person tour and it was a terrible experience - right away we noticed there was an smell and it reminded us of a nursing home. The room the tour guide showed us wasn't even finished, there was carpet all pulled up and cabinet doors taken off. It was just not a good first impression
Parkcliffe is the best place we've found in NW Ohio for dementia care. The owner is really terrific and the staff members are among the most caring we've ever met. The facility is well-maintained and very affordable. Highly recommended for quality care for your loved one in need of advanced memory care.

Carefully think about placing a loved one in Northwood assisted living. One review captured the situation perfectly. The price may be right (reasonable) but you get what you pay for - underpaid staff & minimal staff on duty at any time. Request information regarding how long staff have worked at this facility. Few have "staying power" as it seems to be a revolving door. Staff members are not skilled caretakers with any type of required educational training. They're aides who are expected to do a range of activities- including meal preparation & cleanup, laundry & housekeeping for residents and the "house". Management allows staff to bring their children or pets to work in order to keep houses staffed. If staff calls in sick, there's no substitute. The remaining person works alone or other staff members work double shifts. I doubt the glowing reviews come from persons who were visiting their loved ones daily. I blame management for their inability to attract/maintain topnotch staff.

The community is an outside of the box thinking; however, they did a great job at taking care of my loved one. They took the best care out of all the prior communities my loved one was in. The food is cooked onsite in the kitchen, it seems to be fresh and catered to the individual resident taste.

Great and caring staff. Management easy to work with. Financially affordable.
I cannot say enough good things about the Parkcliffe house my mom resided in. The staff is caring and attentive. My mom was herself again when she moved in after residing at a previous facility. She went from being negative and withdrawn to positive and spending time in the milieu with others. The staff are amazing with the residents and notices small changes in my mom which they promptly communicated with us. I feel like the staff went above and beyond to meet my mother's needs. I will be forever grateful for the experience they provided her for her final months.

The staff is amazing. My mom enjoys the activities and outings highly recommended.
The dad was given compassionate care for 1 and a half years. He lived in this community. His disease process progressed and more care was needed. The staff adjusted and saw to his needs. The setting was home-like as possible.
The staff at Parkcliffe truly understand dementia. [Name removed] and her staff were amazing with the care provided to my grandmother. They kept us up-to-date and sent pictures to show us how well one was adjusting. They handled everything with COVID wonderfully. I wish we'd have moved her in sooner.
This facility is very, very understaffed. On a good day there are 2 people working a 12 hr shift 7am-7pm.. 2 people to 13 residents. They literally have to do everything! Cooking, cleaning, laundry and taking care of 13 dementia residents. When one person called off all this falls on one worker. Pretty impossible right? Night shift has one worker from 7pm-7am. This is not a medical facility. This is a group home for memory care residents. These are not nurses, or social workers or even STNA's. These are reg people with minimal training and minimal pay. But this is the only facility of its kind in the area. The only other choice for dementia residents is a "lockdown" ward in a nursing home! So they kinda gotcha between a rock and a hard place. A lesser of two evils! Not enough choices for dementia care unfortunately.
