Our Lady of Mercy Country Home is lovely. I only have to walk down the hallway to go to daily mass and I don't have to find a ride to Church anymore. I no longer need to cook because the meals are Included in the rent. My apartment is bigger than my old house was, with a balcony to sit on in the mornings to drink my coffee and listen to the birds.

Response from Our Lady of Mercy Country Home
January 19, 2024Thank you for your wonderful review. We are so glad that you have found Our Lady of Mercy Country Home to meet your loved one's needs. Just this week, we have hired a full-time activities assistant exclusively for Assisted Living. This will allow our other staff to spend more time in Independent Living and for Assisted Living to have more activities. I'm sure you will notice the difference very soon!
Our Lady of Mercy Country Home is such a calm friendly environment. The staff are all pleasant and caring and you can tell they enjoy their jobs. The residents are always smiling and looking well taken care of. I would recommend this place to anyone that is looking for a home for their loved one.

Staff are always willing to assist Residents. They seem to work as a team to ensure the resident's needs are met. Staff are always smiling and the residents are too. Food is excellent, and there is a variety of activities for residents to choose from. Extra services are available to independent living residents and therapy is on site. What more could you ask for?

My sister has been a resident of Our Lady Of Mercy Country Home for many years. It is truly a great place to live. Very peaceful, tranquil , secure place to live. The staff are all wonderful caring, friendly people. She enjoys the daily Mass and the wide variety of activities, as well as the weekly outings. This was definitely the right community for her.

My experience with our Lady of Mercy country Home, has always been a positive one. It is a happy , clean , healthy , and safe place to live! We found our lady of Mercy country home , 16 years ago , for our family member, after visiting many other homes. We felt it was the right fit for our sister and could not be happier with the decision we made. It meant independent living for her for the first time in her late life, with people she has grown to love, some activities that suit her, and a few chores she can handle on her own.

The motto at OLMCH is "care with dignity" and they indeed provide this. Residents are offered enriching / appropriate activities in a comfortable, secure setting; staff provide compassionate, individualized assistance; work orders are usually completed "same day" by a skilled and considerate maintenance team; transportation to medical appointments and assistance with shopping is available; and families are welcome anytime (the front desk is staffed 24/7). There's even an on site Country Store. As a resident, I wholeheartedly recommend OLMCH.

Response from Our Lady of Mercy Country Home
December 5, 2023Susan, thank you for your glowing review. We appreciate you taking time to tell others how much you love Our Lady of Mercy Country Home! We strive every day to provide "care with dignity" for our residents and we are touched that you recognize our efforts. Blessings to you and yours!
It was a blessing that we were able to move my father here during covid. The caring that is part of the culture here is above and beyond what we experienced in prior situations. The occupational therapist was always looking for ways to get my father more engaged and having more fun. Each care giver seems to try and personalize the needs and wants of each resident.

Because Our Lady of Mercy focuses on employee retention, my dad has excellent care from nurses and staff who know him well. We are going on almost 1 year of being part of this community, and not once have we had a negative experience. The one thing that gives this community 5 stars is the cleanliness. I have not yet walked into the facility and smelled anything unpleasant, which is huge in this line of business. If you are looking for a place for your parent that is reasonably priced, where your loved one can be involved in as many activities as they wish, or just enjoy sitting outside watching the wildlife , this place needs to be on your list to tour!

Everything is a 5! Super nice staff, and the residents are awesome as well! They go out of their way to make him feel comfortable and at home. He has made several friends already! He does not participate in all of the activities, but that is on him, and not what they are offering him. I see in the future he will do more of the activities that are planned! A great place for loved ones with a very caring and friendly staff that go out of their way to make your home comfortable. I would highly recommend Our Lady of Mercy Country Home for your loved ones!

Response from Our Lady of Mercy Country Home
November 22, 2023Ah, shucks! You made us blush! Pam, thank you for the wonderful review. Our staff and residents are our biggest assets! We love how our residents reach out to make newcomers feel welcome and right at home. Plus, with all the exciting activities, he's sure to find something he likes soon. Be blessed, Connie
My grandma has been a resident of Our Lady of Mercy Country Home for almost 3 years now. We adopted her tiny dog when she moved in and I bring her dog to visit her almost every week. The staff loves to say "hi" to the dog and know his name and give him treats at some of the visits. Every time I visit her, she comments on how this place is "heaven on earth". She still raves about the food, the people, the staff, and the independence she has. She loves that the staff takes all the worries of her medications off of her mind.

The staff make transitions as easy as possible for seniors. Maintenance people are prompt and respectable of residents. The security of the facility provides peace of mind for the family. The location provides a sense for tranquility as it on the edge of the city and gives a feeling of out in the country.

Reluctantly, mom moved into OLOM at 88 y/o after falling on the stairs in the home she had lived in for 53 years. Within a week of moving in, I watched my mothers life filled with joy and happiness I hadn’t seen in many years. The entire staff and residents are respectful, kind and loving to each other. She goes to mass every day, loves the food, and isn’t pushed into activities like she feared she would be. In Independent Living, she enjoys all the freedoms of a home, yet has access to immediate care if needed. No more worrying if mom in ok! She has many new friends now, and doesn’t want to leave them. My heart is happy and I would give OLOM 6 Stars if I could!!

I was frazzled after my dad fell and broke his back and during rehab fell and broke his leg. It was clear he could no longer live in independent living. I was searching all over and looking mostly at nursing homes and of the ones I toured could not bear the thought of placing dad in any of them. Then I got a referral from a friend whose mom had a friend she visited at OLMCH. I checked it out and found a great place. A nursing station on the floor manned 24/7, 3 full meals a day, medication management, doctors with "on site" visits, assistance with laundry and bathing. OLMCH checked all the boxes. I have found the staff to be surprisingly friendly, caring, attentive, and compassionate. Thanks god, I found this place!

My mom lived her whole life on a farm so we were thrilled to find a place with such a beautiful country setting. We see deer frequently when we visit. The courtyard is a beautiful place to visit and relax. The staff is so friendly. Recently my mom was not feeling well and I informed the front desk of her illness as I was leaving for the night. They checked on her every hour through the night. Very grateful for that extra care. Yesterday a man greeted her by name as he picked up her trash. I commented on that and my mom said everyone knows the names of residents! Mom loves to have us come to eat with her and the dining areas for guests is a nice feature. The food and service is good. There are plenty of activities for her to attend. Mom is also able to contribute to OLOM by volunteering in a few areas which is so fun for my 94 year old mom who has served others her whole life by raising a family of 7 kids and teaching school.

We moved my 94 year old father to Our Lady of Mercy Country Home after a bad experience at Addington Place of Shoal Creek. The food is so much better with my dad's diabetes in mind. Very healthy and a variety of choices are available every day. He particularly likes the salad bar. His numbers are a LOT better. The staff is also very kind, helpful, organized and competent. His meds are delivered right on time and there's always someone there if he needs help. Being a Catholic, he's also going to church again right in the building. We are so happy that he's doing better and is so much happier.

Everyone at Our Lady of Mercy country home has reached out to my mama and loved on her at a time when she was going through so much. One day after we moved my mama and daddy up there, my daddy passed away. They were like her family right away and they just met her. They made her feel cared about, and helped her start her new life. What they've done is very big!! They have things for her to do everyday and they check on her daily to make sure everything is okay, even her doctor visits. We thank God for everyone there at Our Lady of Mercy country home.

The facility is superb. The food really good, and the rooms are good-sized. Everyone is very nice. Our mother passed away there. But it was a blessing to have her in a community that cared not only for her but for us as her family. Mom contacted Covid, and came back from the hospital on hospice. Even though they were not supposed to really be able to accommodate someone that ill, they did their absolute best helping us, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to take care of her and make her comfortable. We tried to find another place that would take her but she passed before that could happen. But the entire staff made sure that she was clean and as comfortable as they could make her -- their assistance covered us also, as we had to spend every hour with her. They were wonderfully sweet and gentle and so kind, up to and beyond the very end.
