Great location, within walking distance to grocery store, tucked away in a quiet neighborhood with lots of greenery. I would recommend this facility to others.

My Mom would of spent 3 years at Arlington Bonaventure, Olympic place this [date removed] but passed away [date removed]. Mom passed peacefully in her apartment at Olympic place. I can't praise the staff there enough. Mom was on Hospice for 2 weeks. The caregivers, Nurses, Med-tecs were caring, loving and attentive to Mom during this hard time. Honestly I don't know what I would of done without their support. With that said, I encourage anyone looking for a facility for your parents to choose Arlington Bonaventure. I could leave my Mom confident that the staff would take care of her.

I found the facility to be clean and tidy, and well maintained. The staff was friendly and always available if either my mother or I had any questions or concerns. The facility's location is convenient to nearby shopping, but with the landscaping, it feels more secluded / private. Pets were welcome, both cat and dog {with a security deposit}. There are several configurations of room available, from studio to multiple bedroom, some even having a small balcony. Personalization of the area outside of resident's apartment doors is allowed, even encouraged. She was able to hang anything on the walls that she wanted, from pictures to small shelves. My mother had a pretty limited diet due to medical issues. They always managed to have something available at mealtimes that she was able to eat. If the day's featured meal wasn't something she could eat, she was able to request something else from the menu. She had a full-sized fridge in her room, as well as a sink and a microwave. {Other units might have more of a kitchen available.} She was able to have her own food in her room, and to be able to prepare and clean up from it as well. She was allowed to have guests join her for meals in the dining room, for a small cost. There was a wide variety of activities, ranging from off-site events in the area like day-trips to restaurants and community events, as well as shopping to local stores and rides to local doctor appointments; to on-site events such as music performances, movie nights, bingo, as well as club-type events like bible study groups, knitting, and various other crafting. The activity directors organized several crafty type events each month that residents could make things such as seasonal decorations. The facility has several puzzle rooms / areas to use with a wide assortment of puzzles always available to work on, as well as several small library / reading areas. The county library brought an assortment of books at least once a month for residents to choose from. There were also 'theme days' residents were able to participate in, if they wanted to. One that I recall was 'polka dot day'. The staff passed out sticker dots that the residents were able to put on their clothing, if they wanted to. I was visiting on the polka dot day and as a guest I was able to have as many dots as I wanted as well. Another themed day was Hawaiian shirt day. Everyone who wanted could dress up in a brightly flowered type of shirt, and they had silk flower leis to wear as well. The dining area was also used as an extra activity area (bingo, etc.). It was always decorated for whatever the holiday that month was.

A one is my vote, every mealtime one woman screamed everyday and you were unable to have a conversation! It is not a dementia center I would say so stay away. Many are by themselves in their rooms. I would not recommend them to others.
We have looked at 9 other communities Olympic place had what my parents wanted large apartments with walk in closets lots of storage and a huge, covered deck. They wanted a 2 bed 2 bath that felt like a home and it is perfect. Thank you, a place, for mom we love you for your help. Amazing location in Arlington WA.

Olympic Place is worth consideration by those looking for assisted living. We picked this community, because of the location, and it was close to home. Clean - well maintained not worn out. Size - bigger should equate to better social environment. Anyone moving a parent into one of these facilities needs to be patient, things you don't like will happen. It's a for profit business run by human beings. Staffing is an issue everywhere. Olympic Place employees seem to care about the residents.

Management is what's keeping their scores down. The management and staff are separate in my ratings because the staff were hired from management and the staff are great. There's a lot of turnover and it shows. There's a lot of issues with management, like papers and so forth. They seem to be overwhelmed and short staffed. Support staff for management, as in their care team and those that are providing services within the facility like housekeeping and assistance, they are great and would receive a 5/5.

We moved in a year ago! What I like: 1. Nice people, a real community 2. therapy here- no driving 3. Many places to walk safely 4. Stores in walking distance 5. I don’t need to organize meals except breakfast which we cook in our apartment! 6. I don’t do the maintenance- new paint, carpets cleaned, parking lot refinish and stripped- done for us! 7. Staff friendly and caring 8. It is so nice to look out your window and see trees not buildings!

They could be more friendly. The food, especially the specials. Sometimes the meat is so hard you can't even chew it. Most of the time it's not bad. Need to add a lot more gravy. Most of these people have false teeth.
Do no go there. The cost is horrendous. They are having issues maintaining staff, they are very disorganized. We were hit with an immediate rate change after being there. Their billing system was very difficult to follow. When we moved in the director had left, the new person replacing her was inexperienced. We relied on expertise and we didn't have it. It was a sad situation. We had one caregiver who provided wonderful care. It was a learning experience that cost us a lot of money. The property is large and aged. Not enough care staff for the amount of assisted living residents that were there.

The people we worked with were very friendly and helpful and we would recommend to others. The improvement areas however could be with hiring on more staff. Due to the staffing shortages it contributed to some issues we had with our loved one being there.

I would say to go to this community it is a good place for your loved one. It is so well loved and known that it is hard to even get into this community. They do not have activities right now due to covid but they do still do things in their own rooms and do outings on their own. The staff do still encourage them to get together and hang out. Its not your home or house but it is the next best thing.

She really enjoys the everyday staff, but she has had some issues with the administrative staff. There have been some issues with care such as falls and not getting meals delivered until way later than they should. It is also always cold when it is deliver. We are also having some issues with the billing, they are way overcharging us and they promised to credit one of the bills and that did not happen so we are constantly having problems with that. It is an attractive place and we are just now being able to go inside and visit.

A Place for Mom has scored Olympic Place Retirement and Assisted Living 8.8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
