excited to live here

I wanted to take a moment to share my thoughts after my recent tour of your facility. I had such an amazing experience! The staff was exceptionally friendly, and the living facilities were in immaculate condition. Every area I visited was very clean, and the care services appeared to be excellent. I was particularly impressed with the meal planning in the dining area—everything looked top-notch. I am excited to share that I plan to move in within the next few weeks, and I hope everything goes smoothly during the transition. Thank you for providing such a great value for your residents—it’s truly appreciated!

Would not recommend at least until renovations are finished.

The staff are friendly but not the management. When it comes to the meals they just started charging an extra $10 per meal if u ask for it to be packed for pickup. Delivery is another [fee removed]. No extra charge if u eat in the dining room. In [date removed] we had 1 week notice that the people on the Independent living side would have to move over to the assisted living side so they can do renovations - anywhere from 6-8 months. My mom was in a 2 bedroom 2 bath and had to move to a 1 bedroom 1 bath which is difficult because she has aids that are not supposed to use her bathroom. In the 2 years she has been there ownership has changed twice and there have been at least 10 exec directors. This place is a mess.

The dining staff, cleaning staff, activities staff, and maintenance gets a 5., but the management gets a 1. The activities maybe gets a 3 under the new management. We moved out about 3 months ago and are grateful we moved then because 2 weeks later they forced all independent residents to move to assisted living. They are charging high fees if you want to eat your meals in your apartment. [fee removed] per meal if you pick it up yourself and [fee removed] per meal for delivery. This a hardship for many residents who, for example have had a recent surgery or hospital stay. Oasis has no heart.

New Owners are changing the rules and it sucks

With new owners have moved all the Independent living owners into the Assisted Living area in order to upgrade the existing building facilities. They have closed down the General Store. They have moved the beauty shop into a much smaller area. And they are attempting to take away the buses, which take the residents to the store, Dr appointments and therapy. And now tonight I find that they want to charge the residents full price to take their meals out of the dining room. If I could afford another move this soon, I would be moving my mother out.

Don’t even think about putting your loved ones here.

Moved my mother here a few years ago. Since then, it has been sold twice. The new owners decided to forcefully evict most of the residents, by intentionally cutting services and relocating all the independent residents to the assisted living building. The relocation was never communicated to the residents or their families in writing. Some residents were notified verbally on Monday and the facility began moving them the next day. Residents were moved into dirty units with mold. Furniture was damaged or broken. My mother had other people’s things mixed in her unit and was left without her medication, a working phone, or a key. I pulled her out the same day. There were seniors crying in the hallways as we left. Absolutely shameful and heartless. The rumor is they want to convert the building into apartments or a hotel. The owners and management team should be in jail. There was no excuse for how this was handled.

Promises Not Delivered

I would not recommend the community to others. The community is all about the sales and there is no follow up. My loved one moved in, and no one spoke to my loved one until a month later and there was no welcoming. My loved one finally was spoken to after I made a call to management. The upper management has been responding intermittently to any requests via phone, email, or text made by the family. The cleaning and dining room staff have all been wonderful to work with. There are two meals a day served to the residents, and there are choices for the residents to choose from. The dining room community can be very cliquey and it can be hard to find people to socialize with. This has made the transition more difficult for my loved one.

Great

The place has undergone a good renovation, but for me the main thing is still not the rooms! Thinking about the well-being of the elderly, he removed the rugs, which are already very old and the bathroom could not have a step for bathing the old man.

I love this place

My loved one was not participating, in activities but they were awesome. We picked this community because, the people were amazing, they went out of there way, and it was the best experience from start to finish. It's a beautiful, brand new, and super clean facility. Everyone was so nice

More positives than negatives

Our apartment is spacious and has recently been renovated. The dining staff are wonderful, anticipating our needs and preferences. The front desk staff are the people who get things done. Unfortunately, the administration is not so on top of things. Emails and phone messages have been unanswered. We were given our keys and took possession of our apartment on [date removed]. At that time we discussed with the maintenance manager the installation of a ceiling fan. We were told that if we purchased it before we moved in it would be installed by our move in day. We bought the fan the next day and told the manager that it was in the apartment. Today is [date removed]. We moved in on the [date removed]and the fan is still not functioning. We have emailed and called with out response. It is only through the front desk that we know there is a work order in the computer. It’s hard to trust that any future problems that may crop up will be taken care of in a timely manner.

A work in progress, but a long way to go

I would be very careful about putting a family member in this facility right now. They are having staffing issues, the food sucks, and the administration is way over there head. The corporate office gives the illusion the care, but seem to have abandoned the management and staff. Return phone calls from anyone is almost non existent. Doors have been left unlocked on a few nights, and the front desk has been vacant in the evening on a few occasions.

Grossly Understaffed

Our experience has been horrible at Wickshire Fort Lauderdale. The staff have been unresponsive from the administration all the way down to the aides to the family's questions or concerns about our loved one. The family has been greatly disappointed and saddened by our experience here. We are hopeful the experience will improve for our loved one and family.

Our family had an in person tour and it was a good experience the sales people were very nice. However when they called for follow up questions and feedback its like they forgot who we were. They forgot everything we wanted and needed and it just seemed like they didn't really listen to us.

Considering all the construction going on-everything was great. Everyone I dealt with was very nice, polite, and answered any question I may have. I was very impressed wthat from day one-everyone that I met remembered my name and called me [name removed] from day 1 and they always remembered.

This is a wonderful place to live.

They've had some changes in staff, and they're trying to work through those changes. There's one person in the business staff I've had frustrations with regarding communication, but I'm hoping that will get better. Aside from that, everyone else there is great. Overall I think it's a wonderful place. My loved one is so happy there, which makes us happy. He says the food is great, and there's a lot of activities and things to do if you choose to participate. It's being remodeled. The grounds couldn't be more perfect. So far it has been affordable. We definitely talk it up to others when they're looking for a place.

A good experience

We chose Wickshire because of the location as well as availability of the size of the apartment that he wanted. The food is great quality and they have a wide variety on their menu. It did just change hands, so we are hoping things stay the same. The activities are stopped at the moment due to covid. Overall I would recommend to others looking.

Tour of Wickshire

My sister and I really liked Wickshire a lot. The staff were good with communication, even after leaving the tour, and were accommodating as well. I saw quite a bit of interaction with staff and residents while here. We did not choose them due to the fact that pay was a la carte rather than all inclusive.
