The staff treats my mom very nice. She is happy at waterside landing. The place is clean and she likes most of the food. It took her a while to get used to it but she likes it now. I really don’t know what else to say.

Well, like every place they are always short staffed! [name removed], my friend had to hire 2 private people to attend to her. A person looking for: high end, high class Would not like this place at all. They need to hire a new dietician I think.

The activities were very nice. Overall it was good. Unfortunately my mom degenerated & needed to go into memory care. I was not happy with that.

Great experience with the initial move-in and quality of care for my brother as we recognized he needed to be in memory care versus independent living with the help of Waterside Landing‘s nurse. We had a great moving experience. What we were particularly grateful for the Waterside nurse immediately picked up that my brother needed additional care, and we were quickly able to transition from assistant living to memory care. We are very grateful for them quickly recognizing what could've been an awful transition.

The staff at Waterside Landing is very friendly and the place is very clean. My loved one is in Memory Care. The communication is very good between the staff and myself. The move in process was also good and they took care of any issues that I had. I think the food could be a little better and that they should have more salads and fruit choices. They have a weekly menu for the residents and I was told that they sit with them to see what they want. I literally watched a CNA fill out the sheets one day and when I came for a visit everyone had the same dish. Also, there aren't a lot of activities. The residents watch movies and color, but I think that they need more activities with music. Overall, I would definitely recommend Waterside Landing to others.

It has taken my friends about a month and a half to finally get adjusted, but they like it at Waterside Landing. They like all the people that work there.... very caring & friendly. There is a nurse is on duty 24/7. They are given a paper sheet each morning with lunch and dinner options. They both say all the time "What more could we ask for? This is a great place." I could definitely see myself living at Waterside Landing.... when and if the time comes to that!!

Response from Waterside Landing
January 23, 2023Thank you for your feedback. We are about to open our new Memory Care Community. Waterside Landing offers apartment homes for those who are completely independent as well as those who might need assistance with some activities do daily living. Our Memory Care Program is the final piece to the Senior Living Continuum and we are very excited to offer it.
What we really like about Waterside Landing is that its clean, it is a good neighborhood and the physical therapy is really good over there. However some of the aids are disrespectful and others are fantastic. There is an inconsistency with the aids and they do not have a timely response when the residents need assistance. Upper management does not communicate well with each other and they do not communicate very well with the residents on how things are supposed to go

The community was to be doing medication management for my loved one. The community took a while to get hearing aides to the hospital for my loved one during the hospital stay. Overall the community communication with was lacking with the family. I am disappointed as the community was rummaging through the fridge in my loved one's room when we went to move my loved one's item of the apartment after my loved one passed. The community didn't know that my loved one had a stroke or that my loved one had broken their leg.
We talked with Waterside Landing and they were friendly but nothing about the facility really stuck out to us.
this is definitely a great place to put your loved one. For the expense you get exactly what you need and the rooms are very nice. The staff make the residents very comfortable and make sure that they are interacting with others. It is a really good place for my loved one.

We have had a great experience with Waterside Landing. My only criticism is they do not have a lot of residents, but they try very hard to get people involved in everything. They have a lot of activities, the food was good, and most of the staff members were great and have bent over backwards for us. I highly recommend them to others who are looking.

I enjoyed the space and layout of living spaces. I found some (most) of the workers (aids) particularly nice and pleasant. I do not enjoy being locked in even for my "own safety." I despise being told things are done for my security. Let me worry about my security.

A "new" facility re opened after the hurricane. The units are quite nice and the facility is very nice. The grounds are still pretty rough from the storm and the building is still being renovated. Overall a quality place. I an considering relocating my mother here.

They did NOT have an ant problem, they had MASSIVE BED BUG problem and now they are reopening under a different name. They first said that they had damage from Hurricane Irma and that was a down right lie! Then they tell everyone they have 60 days to vacate, sending 200 plus residents all over. So can anyone for sure say that they gutted the place as I live close and I know city employees. I have not heard anything regarding this and there was not much going on. DO NOT bring your family there any waste your money and allow them to get bit up by BED BUGS!!! By the way the administrator [name removed] is garbage as well.

Brookdale Margate as of Jan. 5th is closing down and giving its residents 60 days to move out. they have a huge ant infestation which is causing a lot of residents to be turned down moving into new places or being told they cannot bring their furniture.

A Place for Mom has scored Waterside Landing 9.2 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
