We moved dad into assisted living when he got out of rehab. He was very hesitant at first but with the excellent care he received his overall health and strength has improved. The staff in Building E has been exceptional and they take such good care of him. 3 meals a day, help with meds, housekeeping and checking on him have proven to be the help he needed to regain some independence.

Everyone is very sweet and attentive. The smaller number of residents makes for a very pleasurable experience. Mom enjoys the food. They check on her regularly and love on her. They provide TV Cable and telephone service as part of the package

I would tell others that I would never put another family member there. But would let them know how I walked in on the very first day with my mom's bed raised to the highest height and her safety rails were locked down. She fell out of her bed the very next morning after I called to alert them of the rails being down the night before. I had a meeting that day with the hospice and manager and she had assured it would never happen again. And she was supposed to have a mat that day. Never got it. It was a day later. The next night I came in she was in severe pain and had not been changed. She was sitting in urine and when I asked why? The night shift said the day shift did not change anyone and did not give her, her meds and when we looked at the logs for her medication. It had been 14 hours in pain and she was on a scheduled pain medication for every 6 hours. Disturbing in all areas of care. I believe her pain meds were being stolen bc simple talks with these people who worked there was like talking to a robot without any logic involved.

The staff and everyone I have met at the Mustang Creek Estate location is genuinely interested in giving my mom the best care possible. Any concerns I have addressed to management have been resolved quickly and usually an education regarding what Assisted Living provides.

September 24, 2024Richard - thank you so much for the kind words about our staff! We pride ourselves in hiring the best in the business! Please do not hesitate to continue to reach out regarding any questions and concerns you may be having so we can continue to work together to provide the best care to your loved one. We appreciate the kind review!
The ED insulted my loved one on her first & only call to me. I could rarely get through to her. The staff dismantled his bed to change rooms 3 times the 1st week & he had nowhere to sleep for several days so I had to bring him home. They never had his medication in the system correctly which is very problematic for someone with a brain imbalance. I didn’t want to bring him back there but had little choice. They have no activities. They hire inexperienced caregivers who get frustrated & scream because they’ve not been trained. There were one or two seasoned caregivers out of the bunch. Until I wrote a letter to the Operations Director and sent her caregiving resources & a plan for implementing those resources, they had no caregiver meetings at all. I had to bring his gluten-free food in most days until I became worn down even though they said they could handle it, otherwise the food looked good. Placing my husband there further compromised his mental health & my physical health too.

We have not been happy with this facility. Frequent staff changes. Untrained staff. Staff who are rude to residents. Meals are all from frozen foods. Limited activities provided to residents who do not have an activity room in there house. I found my dads house unattended for over 45 minutes-no staff in the building

What we like the most about Mustang Creek is the staff. Staff was attentive and friendly to our family. Dad didn't do much there due to his declining mental state but all of the residents seemed happy and everything was well taken care of. The only issues we had was laundry seemed to be behind a lot and the clothes would get lost between rooms often. We would recommend this community to other families.

They went out of their way to care for my mother who was wheelchair bound. It was always clean, fresh. Some days were harder than others. if staff were short on weekends, but considering the situation it was a good place.

June 27, 2024Thank you so much for your 5 star review! Our staff works very hard to make sure all of our residents are well taken care of. We are so happy to hear that our wonderful staff have provided such high quality care for your loved one! Thank you again.
My mother was in residence At Mustang Creek Estates, Sachse, for a total of six weeks this winter. It was her initial move into 24 hour care. The Day before my mother moved in the executive Director, left her job suddenly. This was an omen. We wish we had recognized but we had a contract and a deposit and did not feel we could back out. Staffing was entirely inadequate. The caregiver to client ratio is promoted at 2:16 but the caregivers are tasked with 100% of client needs, this means they cook, clean, administer medication's, dress clients, help them transfer in and out of bed or bathrooms, do laundry and are also expected to bathe clients twice per week. This is entirely impossible with full care clients. Additional staff promised to help with bathing or laundry never materialized. The caregivers were kind and well intentioned, but did not have any formal medical training or certifications (not certified medical assistants or LVNs or med techs) and did not always appreciate the timely nature of my mother's medication's for Parkinson's. Her medication dosing schedule was haphazard, resulting in her feeling uncomfortable, shaky, and more unstable than when she entered the facility. She fell several times in her first two weeks. This will happen in the best of situations, but here there were staffing issues that certainly contributed. Physical therapy and speech therapy never materialized, the few visits that happened initially were haphazard and poorly scheduled. The PT was unable to give a schedule to avoid times my father needed to take her out for medical appointments or other appointments. There were absolutely no activities to engage residents, at least observed on daily visits for six weeks. Laundry went undone, and when my mother's falls left her sheets bloodied , my father requested that they be laundered. After a week of daily visits and still the same sheets, he took them and her laundry basket home and started doing her laundry himself for the rest of her stay there. After four weeks, we started to look for another facility and once identified moved out of Mustang Creek Estates ASAP . She is doing much better in her new facility, getting her medication's on time from a certified med tech or LVN, being supervised for her transfers, getting regularly scheduled speech and physical therapy. The day she left Mustang Creek, the house manager also quit. He was kind and attentive and trying to do his best, but simply overwhelmed. I think they are better off in another location . New executive director started the week that my mother left. perhaps with better administration and leadership things will improve, but I would proceed with caution in considering this facility.

August 14, 2024Thank you for your review, it sounds like our community was not the best fit for your loved ones needs. Our neighborhood of homes, holding up to 16 residents, allow our staff to provide exceptional care to all of our residents and our staffing model is above industry standards. We are very transparent during the tour and it is stated in the paperwork that we do not require our staff to be certified, such as, C.N.A’s, certified medication aides, or medical assistants. Our staff does go through medication training and we are proud of our state of the art medication delivery system, which ensure accuracy. The information provided regarding physical therapy and speech therapy is not correlated with Mustang Creek, those services are to be coordinated by the family and we unfortunately cannot control their schedules to see residents on our campus. The information regarding activities is also not accurate, we have a full time Activity Director and an Activity Assistant that oversee activities on our campus daily for our residents. We apologize we did not meet your expectations.
Dad was in Assisted Living + due to having to have a 2 man lift. So the lower rating in Activities was because there wasn't much in his building. I found the staff in Building C (assisted living plus) to be very caring and encouraging to the residents. Worked to get them out of their rooms and into the common area to talk with others. They kept Dad clean and stayed up with his meds. Lamont was super nice and took time to give me suggestions on how to make Dad's stay better.

July 2, 2024Thank you for your review! We take pride in our neighborhood of homes, that allow our residents to truly feel at home while receiving high quality, personal care! Thank you for your recommendation!
We had an emergency with Dad and needed to find an assisted living facility for him fairly quickly. I contacted A Place For Mom, and they provided 3 places for me and my husband to tour. Mustang Creek Estates in Sachse was the first stop, and we were both really impressed, with the people we met and with the idea of having houses that are like home, instead of a clinical type setting, for the assisted living. We ended up choosing Mustang Creek for Dad, and when I took him for a tour he was very positive about the big move! He's been there about a week now, and every time we visit he tells us how much he loves it, the residents and the care providers are so warm and friendly and ready to help. He loves all the food too, and he is a very picky eater. Highly recommend!

Easy a 5 cross the board. Great loving and caring staff. We go by and take them home made cookies on a regular basis The staff to resident ratio was good 24 hours a day. Each unit is like a house with a common living room and a kitchen where the meals are home cooked.

Newly build location in a very nice neighborhood. Inside it very open and very clean. Rooms are good size for a resident and bathrooms are huge. The parking spots are limited. Nice walking trails nearby. I felt very secure and safe in the area. Staff was very nice and friendly. Large screen TV in main living area.

July 16, 2024Patricia - thank you for your kind words about our campus and staff! At Mustang Creek, we strive to make sure our residents are comfortable and truly feel at home in our community! Thank you again!
We were promised a lot more care than we're getting. I know they're busy, but the weekend staff is super bad. My loved one complains about them all the time. The weekday staff is good. I would rate the weekday staff at a 4, but the weekend staff at a 1. I do like the smaller houses, so only 12 residents in a house. [Name removed] is awesome, she works second shift. [Name removed] works first shift in house E and is wonderful.[Name removed] is the Director. She says all the right things, but I haven't seen any action out of her. The two meetings I had scheduled with her got canceled by her. I have spoken on the phone with her multiple times, but it's all lip service. Nothing has amounted to anything. [Name removed] is the nurse practitioner. I have spoken with her a couple of times on the phone. I had very high hopes, but there's been no action in weeks. I'm incredibly disappointed in the food for the price. The food is crap, especially for what we're paying. It's all processed crap, no homemade meals, lots of sandwiches! I've seen very few vegetables. Part of the reason I put my loved one there was because he wasn't taking medication. They allow him to refuse medication, so he's not taking any.
