From cozy lounges and a traditional dining room to beautiful walking paths and a lush courtyard, Marshall Pines was thoughtfully designed to offer residents a comforting environment for retirement. The goal of staff is to honor choice and support independence while offering the right level of care to help residents lead quality lives.
Located close to Evans Towne Center Park, residents have access to a variety of activities. Enjoy some fresh air, attend live performances, dine in surrounding restaurants, and even get medical care. Before all the fun, the community prioritizes resident health and safety. The community offers an ionized air filtration system to regulate clean air, mindful meals that foster brain health, a sensory spa that combats dementia-related side effects, and a virtual reality bucket list program that enables residents to go on journeys without leaving. Marshall Pines was a good placement while it lasted and I was generally happy with Mom's care. Admin was responsive to my requests and concerns. My biggest problem was communication gaps between shifts that resulted in an unclear picture of her ADL performance, especially as related to her transfers.

I have found everyone at Marshall Pines to be extremely friendly nd helpful. The workers are all great. That is what stuck out initially about this facility over others we looked at.

My mil only last 6 days at Marshall Pines. We were encouraged to stay away for two weeks so she could get used to being there. I called every day to see how things were going and was always told good things. Well on the 6th day of not seeing her, we decided to pop in and see her face to face. It wasn’t good. The smell in her room was disgusting. She looked dirty and her legs were swollen, almost to the point of weeping. I immediately realized the smell was coming from her behind so decided to give her a shower. During this process I see that there is poop and urine all over her to the point the depends were starting to fall apart. I soon realize her new shampoo, soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, wash cloths, towels have not been used! Everything just as I left it. Nothing had been opened. For SIX days! We ended up taking her home only to realize they also had not been giving her medicine correctly. Staff very incompetent!! Not trustworthy.

Our experience with Marshall Pines has been completely positive. This staff is kind and thoughtful and helpful when needed. When my sister’s dementia progressed, we needed to move her somewhere that the staff would understand different behaviors and keep her safe. It’s been better than expected, and she is happy. There are a lot of activities that my sister enjoys and the staff makes a great effort to keep things interesting. Even the chef sometimes cooks with the residents and she seems to always be thinking of new ideas about what to serve. I feel sure this is the best possible facility for people in this area with dementia.

The staff was great. The only thing that bothered me was my loved one did not have a choice to eat in her room. Some of the residents reminded her of nursing home patients. She was not comfortable. So I think if she was given a choice, she may have had a chance to adapt. Plus her meds were left at her bedside

I cannot rate the cleanliness of the community, I have never been. My father was in the facility for 19 days then passed away. My contact with [name removed] was over the phone and email. Our contact during this process was [name removed] and she was Wonderful! She walked us through the entire process of getting our father moved; answered all of our questions. She really did go above and beyond for us.

This facility has been pretty good so far. Housekeeping is good overall, mom's room is kept clean. Mom has had no complaints on the food and it looks like good quality from what I've seen. They do discourage eating with your loved one in the dining area so as not to be disruptive to other residents. They prefer you dine with them in a separate area. Mom has participated in some activities and they have a good variety. Communication with the family is good, I've been happy with it. The director sends a weekly email and I'm also able to schedule meetings with the nurse. The staff are very personable and try to work with me on specific needs for mom. Mom has difficult behavior with her dementia and it's hard to find a place that can work with that. They use Teepa Snow's approach for dementia care here and I was very impressed with that. The staff is trained very well, even housekeeping has been trained and knows how to use a careful approach. Of all the facilities I toured, this is the only one trained specifically for dementia care. If I had dementia and had to be somewhere, this is where I would want to be. I would recommend them to friends and family.

I am an Occupational Therapist in the area and I visit many places working with clients. [name removed] and her Staff provide amazing care for their residents. I am especially fond of all the activities they plan and ensure that everyone is able to be included! Also, they have what's called a Sensory Spa that is amazing! It's a serene room that has so many calming features. I really enjoy the time i've been able to spend there and would recommend it for anyone with a loved one that has special memory care needs They are always willing to collaborate with me and any recommendations I may have for their residents!

My Mom has been at Marshall Pines for almost 3 years. She likes it so much she now calls it home. All of the staff are helpful and caring people. The Medical stall, led by [name removed], take excellent care of all the residents. The Culinary staff prepare meals that are very good. I have eaten with my Mom several times. The Activities staff keep the residents engaged and active. The Housekeeping staff keep things clean and tidy. The Executive Director [name removed] is the warmest and most genuine caring person you will meet. I have seen talking with residents, asking about their families, and calling them by name. I know that I made the right decision when I brought my Mom to Marshall Pines.

Marshall Pines is the best place I could have found for my mom. The staff is incredible. They are very concerned about their residents always checking on them, talking and laughing with them. So much like home, the residents are free to roam the entire building and not locked up in a certain area. Always activities going on and the meals are incredible. I would recommend Marshall Pines for you spouse or loved one. I have made so many new friends with the staff and residents. I could not be happier and most importantly, my mom is happy. My heart is at rest.

I toured Marshall Pines, but it seemed like it was less cleanly, as it had a smell. The community we chose is memory care only, which was very attractive. The other community also struck me as being very clean and not too fussy. At Marshall Pines there were lots of pictures on the walls and in the halls, and they had a lot of things that would be interesting for some people, but it was too complicated for my husbands situation.
The facility and staff of Marshall Pines have been a gift from heaven for my family. The facility is clean, no foul odors, secure and the facility temperature is comfortable. There’s a hair salon and there are Daily engaging activities along with field trips in the community. Laundry is done weekly. Arts and crafts are made weekly by residents. There is a full time nurse. The staff are also dedicated and tuned into the needs & wants of residents. There’s weekly on site Dr visits & even X-ray are on site. The facility decor is geared towards memory care. The community is also diverse which we like. Daily care, socialization, activities, outings, caring and professional staff, family member engagement, dedicated admin, good nutritional food, weekly updates, is what my experience has been since my mother has been at Marshall Pines. My experience with Marshall Pines allows me to sleep at night and there’s nothing like a peace of mind. I highly recommend Marshall Pines for memory care .

My daughter and I decided to tour Marshall Pines when my Dad’s last memory care facility wasn’t working out. After our initial tour we decided that Marshall Pines was the place for him. After a few weeks he settled into the routine and started to flourish. The Director made a suggestion for a home health company that worked out very well since I don’t have to take him to his private doctor. The activities provided are varied and creative. Alzheimer’s patients have good and bad days. Our family is thankful that my dad now has more good days. He said that he feels like he is home again. We are grateful to have found Marshall Pines and are thankful for the administration and staff.

I frequent Marshall Pines on a regular basis and at different times of the day and evening. Each time I visit, I am greeted by the business office manager who sits at the front desk. She is always so friendly and engages in conversation with me. When I enter the main area of the community, I am always welcomed by very friendly staff. Someone always asks me if I need anything and points me in the right direction of whomever I am there to see. The staff are very engaging with the residents and attentive to their needs. They are always laughing, and I have, on many occasion, seen the staff dancing with the residents. I think any family member would feel comfortable having their loved one placed at Marshall Pines.
