Their rehab therapy is really good. The director is on top of things. The cleaning and the aides were not great. Some of the nurses excellent, some were not. Not as clean as should be and a bug in the room. I want to bring my own cleaning supplies. Their communication could be better but it is not the worst.

Everything is fine, but he likes to eat, and the portions are too small for his liking. They're understaffed, and they have to wait too long to get help, but he likes everyone there!

i stayed at sayville in oct., and nov. of 2018 and it was great. very accomidating for my issues. i was a little different because of my size, so l needed a special bed, and room, and wheelchair, the asst. in charge took care of everything hands on from when i first arrived, she was great. everyone was very polite, caring and understanding that took care of me. the rehab therapists were wonderful to go out of there way to accomidate me for my needs in helping me to get walking again. i had fun with the nurses and aides, and the surroundings were very clean and homelike for such a facility. also, the food was remarkably very good, a good chioce of alternates, and a tasty variety for the daily meals. i highly reccommend anyone to choose this resort. however, it was called sayville when i stayed, now that it is called Luxor, i strongly hope that the employees havent changed with the renovation, as i remember they were just a little short staffed, but strived to overcome that. so, in short, if i had to return, Luxor at sayville would be my first chioce.

Everything is good so far. The people in the accounting department are very easy going. I picked Luxor as the best. It's clean, it's neat, and you're safe. There aren't a lot of beds and a good amount of staff to take care of the residents. My loved one is a difficult patient and they're doing great with her. Everyone here are all extremely friendly, extremely accommodating, and all very nice. There is no smell, no hair on the floors. My wife and I walked in the first time and it smelled pleasant and the floor sparkled. I'm very happy with the physical appearance and state of the facility. She's happy with the food here but she just wants a menu. She said the food is fine. They keep us updated well.

They are taking great care of her here at Luxor! She seems to be happy here. She is getting her medication when she is supposed to take it. Everybody is friendly to my mom. It is very clean. Sometimes she goes to the dining room and she eats all that they give her. She eats more than I eat. The communication is very good and they are very helpful with us. We talk to the social worker and they answer our questions.

There was one nurse that was responsive over the phone. She was excellent and follows through on medical needs. There was an issue with someone coming into my loved one's room to use his phone. There also seems to be a bit of confusion on who to talk to for information.

Some nurses have a ray of light about them. The admissions coordinator was very nice and helpful. In general, it's pretty clean. The food is very good. When I first got there everyone gave me all the phone numbers so I could keep in contact. That was very helpful. My mom didn't like the therapy but I think that is because she didn't want to put the effort in.

My loved one loves the girls that she has in rehab and she says they're excellent. The nurses are good too. The halls are very very clean but the bathrooms are not handicap accessible. My loved one doesn't like all of the meals that they serve.

My main concern is about the buzzer. It is always an issue for her when she rings her bell. She relies on the staff heavily and when she puts on her light it is not answered. Also, I still have not heard from the doctor. The staff seems okay but just like any place they are overwhelmed and short-staffed. My loved one wasn’t thrilled with the meals.

A Place for Mom has scored Luxor Nursing and Rehabilitation at Sayville 1 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
