Luxor Nursing and Rehabilitation at Sayville

They are doing the best they can. The nurses are watching my wife really well. They're doing as much as they can, but they can do more. The staff is good about checking on my wife and making sure she's doing good. The facility is pretty clean and they help me feed my wife. I'm pushing for her to come home when she's ready.

My loved one is happy there! The meals are good.

The nurses are wonderful! The bed and rooms are clean. The decor is bad. The walls are old, the TVs are too small, and the racks that have the clothes look like they were made with piping. The wheelchairs need to be hosed down.

I love the fact that they interact with my father! They get him involved and make sure he's out of his room every day, doing activities. It's really important for him to be with other people. Some of the aide's tone hasn't been as kind as I would like. Other than that, they've been very kind. He's eating for the first time in months! It's hot, and excellent quality! It some times takes a little while for his food, and I don't love that.

Luxor has been a very good experience. My loved one has been using their therapy services and we are pleased with those. I would say cleanliness is an area they do very well in. The only thing I could mention that would be nice is if there was a way the family was able to get more feedback. I wish there could even be some sort of online portal that we could check. Maybe when the doctor visited or tests are done and the family could check this to get updates.

I sure would recommend the facility. He said he was pleased with the therapy and made progress while he was there. He was also happy with their nursing care. Cleanliness is an area I know he was pleased with. He had a nice new room and they kept it clean throughout his stay. The meals were okay for him. I know one night he was served fish and he didn't order fish. He said the communication was good throughout his stay and that they answered any questions he had along the way with the right information.

They care about the patients. They give her as much attention as they can. They could always be more available to assist the patients, but the people work very hard.

They did very well, actually. My mom wasn't really eating or moving around or doing much of anything at home, they got her up and moving with the different therapies and she's doing much better now. It was a good experience. The food could have been a little better, and some of the meals just didn't look appealing at all.

Everything seems to be fine there, though they do seem to be a little understaffed. My mother seems to be pretty happy with it. I just think if they had more people on staff for each shift they can address resident needs faster. Her room and the dining areas are always clean. She's been really happy with the food. We had a care team meeting and that was helpful for us, they also explained the billing and that was very helpful. It seems if we don't ask we don't get any notifications or updates. When we do ask they've got all the information we need.

They're always willing to get back to me when I have a question. They answer the call button really quickly. The only complaint I have is they lost half of the clothes but a nurse found them.

Just from that experience we thought they were excellent. The nursing care he received while he was there was fine. Be assured that the staff there is stellar. I would definitely recommend them to a friend.

She just got there and I just spoke with her once. She was in rehab last month and she likes where she is now. Everything is going well here. She likes the food here and she is getting physical therapy twice a day at this facility. Her medication is better here too and under control at Luxor Nursing and Rehabilitation at Sayville. She is having a better experience here. It is better at this facility. My mother has not complained or said anything about the nurses. The person at the front desk was kind to me. She eats in her room and she likes the food. I have not spoken with anyone.

He is getting good care there. The nurses are great. When he came into the facility he was not walking. They are working with him and he is already looking a lot better! I will say that we actually moved him here from another facility. That place was just all-around poorly managed. Coming here has been like night and day! I would definitely recommend the facility! They have really been very sweet and very good for my loved one. They are all great with the communication.

I am really satisfied. I didn't like her three years ago and I don't like her now. I would recommend them. Their rehab therapy is very good. I am really satisfied. I wouldn't say that their staff care is great, but it is acceptable. All of them, are very friendly, understandable, and answer all your questions. Except for the social worker. I'm really satisfied with the cleanliness. The nurse came and explained to me that they would to the same as they would in the other facility I wanted to send him to. It was very helpful.

My loved one is not getting anything out of their rehab therapy and is unhappy. She wants to be able to get out of bed. I rang for a nurse to change help her and they came an hour later. It is not very clean. The sheets were not changed for 3 or 4 days. It was only when we called to get someone to do it. She never gets the food she orders and she is on a restricted diabetes diet. I talked to them and did not hear back from them. I would not go back there.

They are really professional in what they do in going about things. They've been friendly. They're staying on top of the cleaning. It's hospital food. There isn't much they can do. They do help her eat every day. They communicate as often as they can with the time that they have. I've received about two phone calls from each department. If anything is urgent they get to me right away.

I am impressed with the cleanliness. They are doing a good job keeping her room clean as well. I think I should have been involved in talking to the team. We have been here for about a week and I have not been contacted yet. They have not said anything. We are just sitting waiting to see what is going to happen. From what I have seen the nursing care seems adequate. The patients seem to be well-tended to. There was an issue over the weekend when my nephew was visiting in the dining room. There was an unattended patient that was after all of the ladies in the dining room. My nephew had to get the nurse. We were not happy about this situation.

The rehab therapists have her up and walking already. So, I am very pleased. They don't respond to the call button as quickly as they should. They often come into the room with a negative attitude. If you question anything, they don't speak to you in caring for a pleasant manner. Some of the nurses are very good, others not so good. They could be better staffed, especially on Sundays. The place is excellently clean. The food seems to be not tasteless it has something. It's typical of any facility. It may be better than most.

The stay seems to be very good. The therapy team has been able to make progress with my mother, which we didn't think would be possible. Due to my mother's medical needs, she's been on and off special diets during her stay. The staff has been good about keeping an eye on what my mother needs and adjusting her food based on that. The communication has been very good. They have been good at keeping in touch with me and keeping me updated.

So far it is good. It is pretty clean. He said the food is okay. They seem to be calling me in the morning to update my sister.
