My mother was fully ambulatory at the hospital and the surgeon wanted her up and walking in rehab not sedentary. She arrived at the Hamlet and they immediately put her is a diaper and told her if she had to go she could use the diaper although she was using the bathroom fine with a walker. No nurses will help you because there’s only 2 and they give out meds and handle emergencies. The aids come in and tell you they’ll inform nurse but they don’t. After waiting for pain relief for 1.5 hrs, I went to find nurse who told me aid never told her. Food is inedible and served in styrofoam with plastic utensils. We finally had mom discharged which they resented and completed no continuation of care for physical/occupational therapy n did not inform surgeon of any progress or status which they said they were doing. Phone calls to Social Work will NEVER be returned. You are on your own. Please do not go here.

Under staffed, poor administration. Poor medical records keeping. Non verbal updated communication. Not prompt radiology reading services. Poor call bell response. No aid to assist with feeding. Wrong feeding tube formula and dosage. Untimely early morning meds. You have to be on top of this group 24/7

Dad 98 physical therapy was only supposed to stay for 20 days everyone was told that from the beginning including his case worker [name removed] ! Well 20 days passed I get a call he's still not that strong to come home they were looking for a miracle of him walking which he hadn't walked in 10 years they were pushing him 2xs a day with therapy after me telling them he wants to come home, after phone calls to the nurse, the main doctor telling them he wants to come home and they kept blowing me off, 3 and a half weeks of me leaving messages everyday to case worker [name removed] never a call back. The only time I heard from anyone was when he came down with the covid, he fought that after a week, great let's get him home he's negative I'll have some one call you, great! Nothing! Next phone 5 days later i get, he's back in the hospital 2hours later hospital calls he's passing sent him to the hospital when they realized his blood pressure was 112 over 28, oxygen 66 then they decided to send him?

My mom was brought after fracturing her hip. The care here is horrible. The Aides that work here were beyond cruel to my mom. I took her as soon as I was able and moved her to another facility. I have nothing else to say except if you love the person you are considering bringing don’t. Any good review you read here is definitely by someone who owns this joint.

I was not happy with this place at all. It was outdated and filthy. My aunt said that she was ignored by the aids. And that she was spoken to very rudely and was treated as if she was an inconvenience to them. I am currently trying to get her put in another facility. During my visit there were patients bells going off nonstop and we waited 25 minutes and no one came. We went looking for someone to help and it seems there are only 3 people to the entire floor of patients this is ridiculous and appalling.

My husband was in The Hamlet for rehab for several weeks after suffering a stroke. I only have good things to say about this place. Everyone there was wonderful to my husband and my family. My husband was well taken care of during his stay there. The Hamlet is being renovated and my husband was put in one of the new rooms, which was awesome and made me happy. The nurses were wonderful, very sweet and understanding about all my concerns. They went above and beyond in their care for him. They gave me peace of mind every night that i had to leave him. The aides that attended to him were also great and kept him very clean and his bedding very clean as well and that was important to me. The therapists that worked with him were also amazing and helped him to regain the use of his right leg and right hand and arm and taught him to swallow and speak again. They were very patient with him and treated him kindly, but they were persistent with him and worked him and made sure he didn't miss any of his therapies even when he was depressed about his situation. They didn't give up on him, they saw he had potential. I was impressed with them and how hard they worked and how good they were at what they did. i have to mention that everyone that works at The Hamlet is very nice and helpful and caring, from the social worker to the people in the offices, the doctors, the people in the kitchen that prepared the meals, even the people that worked at the front desk, they all were awesome. My husband had a great experience there and i did also. I highly recommend this facility! It is a charming hamlet nestled in Nesconset!

This place is not fit for a dog. The smell of fecal matter and urine hits you the minute you walk in the door. The place is beyond filthy and run down. There is a ghost staff, certainly not enough people for the amount of residents there. My mom who was in for rehab needed assistance to go to the bathroom, she pressed the call button which simply lights a light outside your door that there is nobody around to see. By the time you finally get someone to help and that is if you are there visiting to hail someone down, it is too late. The residents are left with no dignity. And REHAB ? how is it rehab when they leave you laying in bed all day. There are no activities, the food is disgusting, the place is so unsanitary. I am removing my mother as soon as possible. And if you try to get an administrator or social worker on the phone that is impossible as well. And if you personally go in an office there is one person there who claims the staff are all in a meeting. Please do not put your loved ones here unless you want them to die. It is a disgrace.

Most impressed with my tour given by [name removed]. I could see how caring and interested she is in the residents and their needs. If she is example of their employees they are a 5 plus facility. I was visiting a friends husband and wanted to get a feel of the place. Would definitely recommend

The meals are fine, just typical hospital type food. The doctors have called as they've seen her, but nobody else has really reached out in the week she's been there.

I'd give them a 5 overall. The staff told me that there would be a meeting about care for my loved one, but a meeting hasn't been set up yet, so I'm not sure how they're proceeding with his care.
