Kaplan Estates

Visited 6 places. Chose them because of price, location and it seemed like a really nice place. Good at first but when my wife fell I had to hire private escorts and that doubled my expense.

I chose that place because they are one of the few that can transfer residents from memory care (pay out of pocket for spend down) to skilled nursing (paid by medicaid) in the same location. It made a horrible situation slightly easier by having this option. The place is nice and upkept, staff is friendly, but the care of the residents is questionable (greasy hair, unbrushed teeth, lost laundry, soaked mattress due to no mattress protector - which was supposed to be provided...), like any other elderly care housing

Staff was always quick to respond to any issues. There is a waiting list currently to get in. I would recommend Kaplan Estates to others looking for care for a loved one.

My loved one is currently a resident at Kaplan Estates. This facility has not been the best experience so far. The food can be good, but sometimes it is awful. Also, some of the aides can be scary bad. It is not consistent.

We chose Kaplan Estates because of the cleanliness of the facility, the friendliness of the staff and residents as well as the pricing structure. Staff is very helpful and friendly.

Kaplan Estates was great. From the admission process to care in both the assisted living and memory care units, the staff was sincere, caring and attentive. Whether it's Kaplan Estates or any other facility, just give the proper attention to finding the best possible fit for their loved one. Ask questions.

When it comes to the value for cost we are going with a 3 overall rating because we are paying so much between 2 families, but we only want my dad in the best place. He really is comfortable at Kaplan Estates Legacy unit. Thank you so much!

Overall our family is pleased with Kaplan Estates community. So far our loved one has settled in nicely and is happy. She taking advantage of everything they offer. Based on our experience we would recommend Kaplan Estates to other families looking for a place for their loved ones

They were great to deal with. [name removed] made my Mom's entry seamless. [name removed] and [name removed] have both been fantastic since my Mom has been there. They have been great resources and very helpful.

My mother is now at a different facility where she should have gone first. At Kaplan Estates, my sister stayed in the room with her for 3 days. They did nothing, expecting my sister and mother to do their jobs. They will look to have you hire private aides, while you pay them AND the aides, and then go completely hands off. The few activities they had my mother was excluded from, as they would have had to help her to participate. Just a total mistake. I wound up upon their recommendation hiring aides, and I'm not sure if they were licensed but they offer them up as the 1st solution.

We love this place. We picked this community, because we liked what we saw, and they had a pretty good reputation. They do a really good job, and they are very responsive. I would recommend to other families.

What our sister first liked about Kaplan Estates was the atmosphere - it really has a homey feel to it and she knows other residents that have lived there for a few years. When you look at the residents they all seem very happy and that makes a difference. They have started to bring back more and more activities since covid - it is getting better and you can see different things being added to their monthly calendar The value is very very good that gets a 5+.

This facility is pretty good. The staff is a mix, some are really good and others are just ok. But I know that happens everywhere. The front desk staff are really nice and helpful, they're always kind and pleasant. Overall, it's been a good experience. There have been some problems, but nothing that can't be worked out. The adjustment was hard at first, but it's getting much better. The Director of Nursing is open and willing to talk, so that's been helpful. Communication with the family is good when I call, but they don't reach out to me, even when I've felt like they should for certain things. Especially for an emergency situation, which thankfully worked out okay for my dad. The food is really quite good, portions are a little small I think. But it's good overall. The dining room looks very nice. It's very clean and the residents seem to be enjoying themselves. They offer a wide variety of activities. They post the activity schedule in the elevator and also hand things out daily about the activities. They do outings as well. I would recommend them to family and friends.

My loved one loves the food. My loved one has not utilized the activites but they have a list of dailiy activites. The cost is expensive but its a real nice place. It's cheery and very inviting. I would recommend to other families.

We think the management staff gets 5 stars, but the day to day staff gets about 4 stars. The quality of the care is getting better but we do think they could work to improve on their weekend help. Whenever we have had any issues it seems to always be over the weekends, but come Monday when we reach out to management with our questions or conerns they are right on top of it .

My Mother had a good last few months of her life at Kaplan Estates. She had some fun met friends and enjoyed the experience. We wish she could have lived longer to enjoy the activities and socialization. There is truly a need to care for the elderly and Kaplan is helping people get through their end of life with caring, assistance and a good experience. Thank you for all you do. For improvement. My mother did think the food could be better. She said she could always order something on the menu when she didn't like what was being served. She said there were some great aids but some of them could be better. The building is set up where she could get around to the activities and wanted more social events. Thanks for all you do. We are thankful my mom had a good last few months

The activities are a five plus at this community. Our loved one is totally engaged, she is completely happy. The activities are amazing she is always smiling and so on versus the previous community she was at, she was so withdrawn.

I would suggest Kaplan Estates, and have brought it up to friends who are asking. My mother is happy and everything seems to be working out well for her. Due to COVID they are allowing 2 people for one hour each week to visit. This allows my mother to get out to see us and for us to see her. We have to maintain the six feet difference. My mother has a land line and we are always calling her to visit.

Every time I visit, everything is very clean. My mother is always happy as far as whether or not things like carpets or tables were clean. If she ever has an issue, then maintenance is right there to help. The staff is very friendly and very helpful, especially through the Covid-19 pandemic. The staff is always taking good care of my mother. Previous to the pandemic, they had a variety of activities available for the residents to participate in. Their communication with the families is also very good. They send us letters every week letting us know what's going on and what they're doing next.
