They provided him with a lovely apartment in Assisted Living with Level 2 additional care that was furnished. His apartment is always kept clean and clothes are washed weekly. The entire facility is spotless and inviting. Fellow residents invite [name removed] to eat with him and he has made some friends which did not happen at his previous facility. Nurses, PT and other staff respond as soon as possible to any inquiries that [name removed] or I have. The staff are ready to answer questions and set up outside visits to the dentist or doctor. Meals are available all day but most residents choose them at a certain time. There is a full days menu with always 2 choices available each morning. Excellent reviews! [name removed] chooses exercise class every morning- there is a menu of activities for him available every day. Well I know that when I was touring for my mother another resident said to me "if I had one word to describe this place it would be caring! They are about everyone and everything" and he was 100 percent right. We are so thrilled with the way my mom has integrated into the Vinnin Residences. Everyone there is nothing short of sensational

It's still not exactly what we had hoped for. Food isn’t great, hardly any activities.

Response from The Residence at Vinnin Square
November 5, 2020Hi Nancy, thank you for your praise and kind comments about our team. We're happy you've had such a positive experience with our community!
We chose this community because it was newer and it was also close to where I lived. The room sizes were generous. The food was institutional like. Sometimes I felt like they didn't cater to the age group with their offerings. I would recommend The Residence at Vinnin Square.

Response from The Residence at Vinnin Square

When we moved our grandmother in, we were astonished by the facility. The building was new and bright with lots of friendly families. As time went on, the community grew sour. We were highly suggested to move our grandmother to the "Reflections" part of the facility by the staff. The staff in the Reflections community did not care for the residents. One time, a staff member grew impatient with a resident during lunchtime, so she went to the kitchen and forced the resident to eat what she brought back. There have also been numerous reports of the staff stealing from residents. Whatever you do, do not go to The Residence.

Having to take my parents out of a home they had lived in over 60 years occurred like an impossible task. Through a family friend/MD, I hired [name removed] from [name removed] respectfully who after 3 emily sessions had us moving into assisted living with the LCB operator. The Resident at Vinnin Square at Swampscott, MA is truly "heaven on earth" their executive team along with the entire staff have a passion for caring with seniors to make sure their life is full of caring. Energetic activities and all with dignity & respect.

Our father had been with our step-mother for 42 years and she sadly passed away this year. We were worried about dad and wanted him to be with other people he could enjoy being with as well as be in an atmosphere where people cared about him and his needs. Residence at Vinnin Square has turned out to be an excellent choice for Dad. The staff from management to direct care has been totally awesome with our father. There are way too many to add one by one but you all know who you are and we are so grateful to have dad become a resident at Vinnin Square. There is a great, family oriented atmosphere, freshly cooked cuisine, and lots of activities for residents to enjoy all day long. The engagement director [name removed] and her staff [name removed] and [name removed] are always finding new ways to engage the residents so there is not much idle time if residents are looking for something to do during the day. The residence is new and decorated beautifully from the open common areas to the apartments of the residents. It is well maintained and spotless. From the time you walk in the door you are greeted by professional and courteous front desk reception area. (Thank you [names removed]) Management has been great and has no problem getting involved to make sure that each and every resident is safe and happy and treat the families like they are part of the extended family. On the downside the food is a bit expensive if you are family coming to dine with your loved one but the food and the servers make that a little easier to swallow. Thank you residence at Vinnin Square for taking such good care of our dad and making sure he is happy and in a caring, loving, family oriented living facility. It was a tough time for him having to make this move but has seemed to adjusted very well and has made many new friends. We love being a part of Residence family and have made many new friends and extended family members ourselves among the staff and other residents.

My mother has been here since May. I can’t say enough good things about this place. Everyone who works here is super nice. They care so much about the residents. The place is brand new and they do a great job keeping it sparkling clean. The food is fantastic. My mother’s only complaint is that the portions aren’t always quite big enough. There are exercise classes and movies every night and trips out to lunch. There’s always something planned around every holiday. And they really do such a nice job including families. I highly recommend this property if you’re looking to place a parent.

A Place for Mom has scored The Residence at Vinnin Square 8.5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
