My mother has been a resident at James L. West since [date removed]. This facility is perfect in their ability to handle not only her moderate dementia and anxiety, but also her complex medical problems (brittle diabetes, coronary and kidney issues, and now, a broken femur.) The staffing and therapy levels are comparable to a specialized rehab program with the definite bonus of community and dementia care. Since she has moved in, all facilities have been locked down due to the Covid-19 pandemic. All of the staff have been wonderful about communicating with families via emails, phone calls and Zoom meetings. They have assisted my mother in making FaceTime calls to family 2-3 times a week. Their policies regarding quarantine and prevention have been excellent. I am looking forward to being able to participate with their educational programs once the quarantines have been lifted.

After providing in-home care for a friend, I knew the James L. West Center was the best choice for providing her care in the later stages of dementia. Staff facilitate her adjustment with skill and compassion. That they specialize in the care of individuals with dementia has made her transition successful. She is more peaceful and responsive, and I feel supported by services for family!

We went on a tour at this community and it was nice and clean. The staff was friendly and answered all of my questions. It is fantastic here. We wanted to be a little closer to him but we may have to just drive a little further for good care. I like the fact that they are a non profit organization.

My mom had lived at James L. West Alzheimer's Center years ago. My friend is now showing more signs of dementia and I know that we will be going to the community James L West for her care. They took such good care of my mom and I have kept in touch with the community. They offer classes for the caregivers for memory care. I have kept up on the classes. The staff was very delightful and caring. They keep up on all of the research on dementia so that they provide quality care. They work with the many levels of dementia that the residents have and go through. It is not cheap, but well worth the quality of care.

My Dad recently died after living at James L. West for over five years. I honestly don't believe he could have received better care any place else! The professional staff and all others are top notch. They are respectful and attentive to your requests. The nonprofit status makes it a much more resident friendly organization as they are not there to make a profit to a corporate owner! My family was most pleased with the quality, loving care he received -- even though he was at times a difficult person for the care givers to handle. If you are looking for a place for your loved one, please visit James L. West before making your decision.

We toured this location when we were looking into care options for our loved one. Overall it was a very nice looking place and everyone seemed friendly. However, the location wasn't convenient as others we looked it and it was a bit too far to be an option that we considered.

We liked it, it is pretty expensive, but we liked it if she gets to the point where she needs to go somewhere with lock down. All they do is memory care which is nice and we would already have her there except it's far away.

This was just a wonderful community. Our loved one was only there 10 days but they were a great 10 days. They really are just a wonderful community that really cares about their residents. They sent us a remembrance book (actual hard back book) and a card signed by the entire staff. The staff is was just very caring. They took the time to get to know her. They did everything they could do to make her more comfortable. The care here is just impeccable. The doctors and staff is just top notch. They kept us informed throughout the entire time. We would strongly recommend this community. I can not say enough good things about them.

I really like the facility and the program. I don't know if the cost structure will fit our budget. We would not be able to stay there long term. Location is great.
