Response from Ivy Park at Studio City
November 5, 2024Hi Anonymous, thank you for taking the time to leave a review for us at Ivy Park at Studio City. We are pleased to know that you've had an overall positive experience and appreciate your feedback about our food. We will pass your comments along to the culinary team.
I lived here for 1-1/2 years. Fortunately, my family pulled me out after some bad experiences. I only got worse there. The staff is bossy, uncaring, and always “too busy to help.” There are one or two great people, but most obviously hate their jobs. The manager only cares about the money! We got charged for services they did not provide. Stay away!

When this changed from a Sunrise to an Ivy Park the quality of care became so much worse. Especially in Memory Care where they need so much more. There was one night where there were only two care givers on duty in the entire building - overnight! That's incredibly dangerous for our loved ones. And with only two or three people on duty in Memory Care with about 30 residents, how do they 'refresh' everyone in a timely manner when most residents require two people to attend to them. So our loved ones sit in unclean diapers for far too long and the medical problems that come from that only make them worse. Look elsewhere.

September 8, 2024Dear Joan, thank you for taking the time to leave your thoughts, and I am sorry to hear that your experience is not meeting your expectations. I have recently joined the team with the intention of improving our services and I appreciate your feedback. Please contact me directly at 818-505-8484 or by visiting my office if you would like to share more. Sincerely, Dan Kashani, Executive Director
I would tell others looking that if a 100 year old dies or needs to move on the 8th of the month the bill will be for TWO months and the person or family receives a phone call and letter from a lying attorney in Florida. Two months notice is "required" ... Such vile BS. I offered to immediately pay a reasonable amount eg $[removed]. but they wanted $[removed]. plus Heck, they might get a person to pay AND re rent the room so get double. I do not recommend them.

July 27, 2024Dear Anonymous, My sincere condolences for the loss of your loved one. There seems to be a misunderstanding as we do not require two months’ notice when a resident passes away, in fact, no move out notice is required in such situation. Additionally, we are unaware of any attorney reaching out to you on our behalf, but we would like to learn more about this from you so that we can look into your comments. Please contact me if you’d like to share more. I can be reached at acrawford@oakmontmg.com. Thank you, Arlene Crawford Regional Director of Operations
What I like the most about Ivy Park at Studio City is how wonderful the staff members are to my mom. She has felt very at home there. They update me with any concerns. I know my mom is taken care of.

May 25, 2024Hi Elissia, we're so happy to know that our team is so supportive for your family and that you are confident in the care we provide. It is our pleasure to care for your mom. Thank you for taking the time to leave this positive feedback.
More training in the quality of care area would be helpful, I think the facility may be understaffed also. However, overall I think Ivy Park at Studio City is a very good place for loved ones.

May 15, 2024Hi there, thank you for taking the time to leave a review for us at Ivy Park at Studio City, we appreciate your feedback!
The staff is truly amazing. The care that even the lowest level people provide is excellent. They have a great on site nursing staff. The food seems about average. If not a little below what I would expect for the money. The cleanliness is great. The one thing I would pass along that might not be positive is the sales experience. They really leave the care aspect up in the air per cost. Other facilities give you a tier and a price point that you can compare or budget for. In the case at Ivy Park, they leave it open ended and say it could be [removed] per month and will just have to see later. It's difficult to budget and compare. The incontinence program also is very costly. Overall, I would recommend the facility to others.

May 16, 2024Hi there, thank you for taking the time to leave a review for us at Ivy Park at Studio City! We appreciate your feedback.
We toured Sunrise of Studio City during our search for care for our loved one. Our tour was good and our tour guide was friendly. However, this facility was too large for my loved one, it felt more like a hotel.
My friend who lived there told me it was very clean, the meals were outstanding, and the staff was very accommodating...very clean in my eyes too. Very helpful as far as getting moved in, etc. The rooms were great. As far as cost, it's all the same as the others I checked out.

This community is very close in location which is nice, and we really like all of the staff members. The staff tam are extremely professional, friendly, helpful and have great communication. Our loved one did not always participate in the activities but they certainly have plenty you could see them up on the calendar. It is a very clean facility as well .

Response from Ivy Park at Studio City
February 1, 2023Hi Customer, Thank you for the wonderful things you said about Sunrise of Studio City and the dedicated care givers and team members. Our residents are part of the Sunrise family and we take enormous pride in having the privilege to take care of them.
People are very friendly, but it sometimes takes awhile to get help when needed - for example, using the bathroom. Communication is not always great. The staff are caring, but I think that they probably need more help. One person is a little rough sometimes handling the residents.

September 28, 2022Hi Gina, It is delightful to hear that you have been satisfied with the personalized support provided to your loved one by Sunrise of Studio City. Our team members share a common goal of enriching every resident’s life by carefully listening to their needs and always delivering the very best. Thank you! – The Sunrise Team
We chose Sunrise of Studio City because of the closer location to my home. They also were able to take her when we were in a time crunch and were very accommodating to our needs and took a great burden off of me. She is in a studio apartment and it is plenty big for what she needs, especially since she is not in her room a whole lot. Her room has a ton of natural light. Even when covid was going on, they really tried with the activities. Now that everything is opening up, there is just a ton of things for residents to do. I would highly recommend them to others who are looking and already have.

They have amazing staff. The published activities aren't always the ones going on and if you loved one needs assistance and reminders to attend the activities that's not always offered. The food is fine with variety offered in restaurant style dining for those who can get there. The community is a family setting and is very sweet there.

The staff and care were fine. The caregivers were all very friendly and knew what they were doing. The community was always nice and clean. They had a piano and that was lovely. The fitness program was great and I participated as much as I could. I liked that I could keep my dog with me and take him out to socialize with other residents who had pets.

Sunrise Studio City is the best choice for my Mom. She has increasing dementia yet remains active and functions fairly normally. She moved from a single care assisted apartment to the Reminiscence Program they offer at Sunrise Studio City where she receives excellent care from well trained nurses and caregivers who understand her needs. We are very pleased and satisfied with our choice of Sunrise Studio City.

The vibe here is really good. The place seems a little older, almost like it may have been an apartment building at one time. Everyone was friendly, no one seemed unhappy, lots of airy light filled rooms. The usual amenities to keep everyone as busy as they would like to be.
