We didn't have the best experience here. The staff would write notes for my loved one to be able to follow up with their doctor. The medications were allowed to lapse at the community. My loved one was supposed to be on several medications, and ended up being that we had one pill bottle when we moved our loved one out of the community. The community wanted the family to clean our loved one's apartment. I wouldn't recommend the community to anyone.
It's fine. It's big. There's a lot of room. I like the food. The company I have I like real well. People who want to live in a place like this- It's a darn good place to live.
Nothing can be perfect. No facility can be 100% perfect.
I think it's a great place. they're going out of their way to try to accommodate everybody.
It's not a bad place. Need more staff like aides.
Kitchen has improved. Food is delicious. New creative menu items. People are friendly but they respect your privacy. Helping with activities , with creative writing and enjoy the new classes they are having. House keeping is fine would definitely recommend to people.
I'm very happy here, but there is large employee turnover. Love the new cook. He is a winner. The courtyard is very impressive. Some people here need more help and may not be a good fit for Independence Village and would consider a full time nurse or doctor on site 24 hours.
I've been here a little over 6 years, because of my work with the church. I don't get too involved with activities but people know me and I've made a lot of friends.
IVR in need of more help- especially at night. More entertainment. Enjoy activities especially outdoor events.
Lived here since 2011 and I've always liked it. Since the chef of 28 years left, the food has changed dramatically, but I loved the liver and onions. I refer this place to friends and it's a great place.
Very Very neat place.
Good drivers for transportation. Don't play many games but they look like fun and I'd like to give them a try. Housekeeping department does a good job cleaning.
The food is good. A lot of activities. Lots of friends
Her and her husband like it here. They like the activities. The people that are here. They like the food. People are very friendly... feels like family.
I like it's a community of outgoing, independence living. I like the activities offered. I like the ability to have transportation from the village to various places. I love the option to volunteer in the garden. I enjoy having a dining room on site. Very nice place to live.
Good place to live. Rooms are nice and weekly cleaning included- Activity director keeps us busy. Meals are acceptable and are served on schedule. We do suffer from todays work shortage (dining room mostly but the staff we have give us their all.)
I like it. The responsibilities are very light. Happy to have the food served. I enjoy the cooks. I like the activities and am getting more involved.
I have mixed feelings. It's not like growing up or being married. The highlight is the food and ability to select different choices.
The best part is not having to cook. The food is good. I like the friendliness of the people.
it's not home, but it's close to it.

A Place for Mom has scored Independence Village Rockford 1 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
