The Village is the best facility I have dealt with. The staff works very hard to make it a home and community. The kitchen is 5 stars. My brother [name removed] is very happy here. We expect he will live here the rest of his life on a scale of 5 I give it 10.

October 14, 2024Hello, Thank you for your review!
Love the staff but food is not good. To make things worse I am gluten free and I can’t eat what’s on the menu. The activities are great, many fine musical events, and [name removed] the driver for appointments and such is very accommodating !

July 1, 2024Hi Jean, Thank you for your kind words. We are thrilled that you think our community is the best fit for your sister. We appreciate that you love the staff, as we believe they are pretty great too. Thank you for recommending us and being a part of our Independence Village family!
Overall, Independence Village delivered an outstanding experience. My mother suffered a bad fall and subsequent injuries that forced us to find an assisted-living facility to move her into. We had to do it quickly and chose IV since it's minutes away from my home and we've heard great things about it. They took tremendous care of my mom, made her feel welcomed, offered flexibility and the staff was all remarkable. It was a great decision and my mom made amazing progress while there. I highly recommend Independence Village Aurora.

June 10, 2024Hi Tony, We're delighted to hear that your mom had such an outstanding experience with us. From the warm welcome to the experienced care provided, our dedicated team works tirelessly to create a nurturing environment for our residents and their families. Your appreciation means a lot to us—thank you for sharing! Warm regards,
Most staff are extremely friendly and helpful – the administrators and their support team. When my mom was totally independent, there were no issues. Once my mom needed help with some ADL though, too often the staff did not show up, or when they showed up did not perform all the specific tasks that were assigned. We addressed this issue with the administrators several times, and the situation has improved, but would be nice for it to improve more.

March 1, 2024Hi Karen, We are so glad you're finding our amazing team to be friendly and helpful. We are always open to feedback on how we can improve and would like to connect with you directly to discuss your mom's unique care needs. Please call the community and ask to speak with the Executive Director. Thank you!
My 89 and 90 year old parents moved in IV of A 2.5 years ago. They initially took some time to acclimate themselves since they had only lived in one house for 60 year. That said, they were loved and care for beginning their first day. So many staff, caregivers and residents touched their lives on a daily basis. They both considered IV their home and the staff and caregivers their family. Not to mention the support and love that my family felt when both of my parents began declining in health. We will always be grateful to everyone at IV for their love and kindness. If only Independence Village had been our first stop in searching for a new home. We could have saved a lot of days.

January 24, 2024Hi Alan, Thank you so much for your kind words about your parents' experience in the community. We are thrilled to hear they felt loved and cared for during their time with us. It means the world to us to know that we made a positive impact on their lives and your family's. We appreciate your feedback and are always here to help. Thank you!
Besides the outrageous cost of assisted and independent living independence village was very nice. Everyone was so very helpful and my Mom liked the staff. We were a bit disappointed in the food. Most of the time the entrée was dry and a bit tough. I guess they need to hold it and make sure it is super cooked. I would absolutely recommend IV of Aurora to others.

The interaction with the staff has been great. We picked this community because it was something that we were community. Overall, we are very happy. It would be nice if they offered more intellectual activites. They need more staff in the dining/kitchen. I would recommend to other families.

April 11, 2023Hello, We appreciate your review and are happy that you have been pleased with our team. It is our goal to provide the best experience possible for our residents, which includes accommodating certain dietary restrictions. We would like to connect with you directly to further discuss your mother's needs and find a resolution. To do so, please call the community and ask to speak with our Executive Chef. Thank you!
My mom first arrived at the facility, she was so bombarded with so much information. And having the information was good, but nobody specifically said and pointed out that what they talk about with Activities is on page so-and-so in the booklet and what they talk about with meals is in page so-and-so in the booklet, etc. We had no idea at first that all the information was written down and it was simply an oral presentation of what was mentioned to my mom. Also, it should be mentioned that anybody who moves in on a weekend will not have much guidance and that moving in on a weekday will provide access and explanation for activities, self storage units, etc. The food is rather good- great that many choices are offered. Too much of the meat sadly was tough instead of tender. And I recommend that dinner times be posted on the monthly calendar since they vary - some days 5:00, one 4:30, one 12:00. Things we very much liked- the lovely and comfortable feel of IV overall, the layout of the room and the lovely and comfortable feel of the room, the variety and number of activities offered :)
