This place is just great. The staff here are so wonderful and caring, and there always seems to be something going on! My mom has made so many wonderful friends as she has met her kind and friendly neighbors. We have stopped in several times to join mom for lunch, and the food has always been so good! Even though mom’s cottage has a full kitchen, she never seems to use it anymore since she enjoys three full meals every day! She’s so glad she moved in, and so are wel!!... Read more

I would recommend to others. We picked them because of the price per size of unit, bright and clean, location.

We only stayed one month out of three paid for. My diet is so that I could not eat 80 per cent of their food which is terrible. The cook left and another one was coming in so we had people in there that don't know how to cook. The people that work there are topnotch, couldn't be better. But they couldn't do anything about the good. Too bad I really liked it here.

November 7, 2024Thank you for sharing your experience, Sandra. I’ve shared your review with the General Manager, and he is available if you would like to speak with him about the concerns you mentioned. You can send your contact information over to CustomerService@AtriaSeniorLiving.com and I will help you get in touch.
Have had issues with the shower. Took them 5 months to fix it. They got a new maintenance man and he fixed it. I am now waiting for them to put a shield to stop the water from running onto the floor. Waiting for a key to the back door but that has not happened. We were told that they were going to change all the locks on those doors and give us keys. I use the back door because it is close to where I park my car. Maintenance is slow. They only have one man for the facility. 4 months is really unacceptable.

I looked for a place for my mom, I talked with front office, and talked with nurse ( who is not affiliated with willow gardens) she meant my mom and said we could move in, I stated she may need help as this is her first time in a place. She agreed. We moved I. [Date Removed] and stayed 1 day and the nurse said she was too much. I picked her up and and got her out of there. I was very distressed and they took my mom with them and stressed her out. We moved out that weekend. They have not refunded my money yet and it’s been a month and a half. They just keep saying the same thing, so next going to small claims to get money back. I would not even go there or put a family member thru this ordeal. It has been a horrible experience overall.

The people are friendly, the surroundings are beautiful, and the facility is very clean. They have 3 good meals every day! The apartment is a decent size! And the monthly rent is reasonable compared to others!

This facility is very poorly run, aimed of the staff is helpful and tries, but the place is a bit of a train wreck. We are currently looking for a new place for our father due primarily to the situation.

Willow Gardens is very nice, they are just finishing a upgrade and it looks beautiful. The staff are all super sweet and go above and beyond to help out. I had lunch here with my aunt and it was so good, they must have a great chef. The apartments are really nice and have cute little balconies. She is so happy since she moved in, she is making new friends and eating very well.

If I could rate it at 0 or below, I would. Everything about Holiday Willow Gardens needs improvements! It was the worst place I have ever been.

October 23, 2023Thank you for sharing your feedback. I have shared your review with the General Manager and the Regional Culinary Director, and they will be following up with the culinary team. I encourage you to attend the community’s monthly Food for Thought events to provide an open forum for residents to share their thoughts on our meals, and the General Manager would also appreciate the opportunity to discuss your concerns at any time. I am available at CustomerService@AtriaSeniorLiving.com if you have any more comments.
I was lied to just to get me here. Food is lousy, chairs so dirty your clothes get dirty sitting on them. Whenever there is an issue they always have to check with corporate, and we never here about an answer except its against corporate policy. Their activity director is [removed] and is uneducated. We have to teach her how to pronounce words. The food on the menu is not what comes out of the kitchen. Order a chicken salad sandwich, I got an Egg salad with a little chicken. I have been here for 9 months and there is only 3 staff members that have been here longer. There is one resident whose door lock is not functioning, she has had at least 2 break ins and they haven't fixed it even though the police have told them to do it. I have nothing good to say about this facility. What I will say is no one should be living here. I just got done looking at another facility with many more amenities at a lower cost for a larger unit.

August 11, 2023Judith, thanks for reaching out. We take your concerns seriously, and I’ve shared your review with the General Manager. She will be reaching out to you soon to discuss the feedback you shared. I’m also available at CustomerService@AtriaSeniorLiving.com if you’d like to talk further.
They serve three good meals a day. If their parents need help with getting around the building and they have gaming. It is not an assisted living facility, so if their parents have alzheimer's or other serious mental illnesses, they don't provide necessary services like nursing care.

Our family had an in person tour and it was a nice tour experience, the building itself is nice but the tour lady was just okay
The tour was okay. The issue that I had was that there was a non-refundable deposit to hold the room, and they didn't let me know it was non-refundable. The dining area and apartment were nice. The communal laundry room had an odor to it.
After four months of living here the one thing I can say is if I don’t feel well enough to go to the dining room and instead need to pick up my food, I get about half the amount and it looks like it was just thrown into the container. Many times the evening meal consists of a bare dry sandwich with about half the amount of meat you would normally expect. Generally speaking the food at lunch is pretty good if you’re eating in the dining room. But lately the majority of the time their idea of dessert is a cookie And it’s not being very well received. However I do feel reasonably safe here And the majority of the staff are really nice And helpful

I toured Holiday Willow Gardens and it was very nice, their first impression was a very good one. It was almost as if they had "too much" to offer, I don't think my brother would have fit in there. We chose another community because Willow Gardens wasn't well suited for what we needed.
This community is really nice and it was our second choice. They are very nice and friendly at this community.
I would recommend this facility. They have a clip board with all of the activities listed so that my loved one can sign up for all the activities that she wants to participate in. The staff are always nice.

We had a nice tour experience. We were in kind of a transitional place and didn’t know if we could afford it. They were a little bit out of our price range. But the facility was very nice. The staff we talked with were very helpful and very informative. Due to the pandemic, it was a virtual tour, so it wasn't wasn’t the same as meeting in person and being able to see the place in person. But they did a great job virtually taking us through and explaining how everything works. They were really good, and given the circumstances they did wonderfully.
Very nice accommodations and well kept grounds. Residents were vibrant and engaging, exuding happiness and contentment.

A Place for Mom has scored Holiday South Hill 7.1 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
