The staff is wonderful and the facility was just what we needed. Card games and social activities were also what we needed to get our friends back into the world. She had been slowly going downhill living alone and now is walking and in the first day had made friends and we could immediately see the difference. A great place!... Read more

Ground level, swimming pool. Place is dirty and not moving. Rugs all need to be removed. Sidewalks bend dropping bad, pool deck dirty, short staffed. Told independent and its assisted and independent. What I was told and what it is, is different.
I have been here 1 1/2 months. I like it very much. As something I can afford on my social security, it works very well. With the slowdown of the pandemic they are starting make improvements. They work hard at making everyone feel at home. The kitchen is a little inconsistent both in food coming out and the time it takes to come out.
A lot has changed in the 12 years I have lived there. I remain in spite of many changes too much corporate influence in activities and food. Each community is different. Quality of food (meat, in particular has gone down).

They're not assisted living. They say that they are. But they're not. My loved one was constantly calling EMTs because Madison Meadows wasn't able to help her up when she fell. They said it was going to be a $5 charge to have her food brought to her room. The website says they have chef prepared meals, but the food is horrible. It's all out of a can / processed, and if you have dietary restrictions, it's terrible. The people who live there seem friendly. But the lady at the office is not. She even hung up on me one time. They also said they would provide transportation to medical appointments and to the chapel, and they weren't doing that either. So if you're not independent, then you shouldn't be there. It's nice that the apartments have outside entrances. There's a pool, a rec room, a salon, a library. Activities are pretty good. It has potential. But I think it has poor management right now. They also assured me there was a nurse they were paying hourly to help her with dressing, showering, etc. And they weren't' doing that either. I wouldn't send anybody there. She's also been in and out of the hospital while she's lived there, and they're still charging her rent.

Manager and employees provide residents love and care and they are very compassionate and understanding.
This is a small community and tight nit. The tenants get a long really well and get to know each other and help develop a since of community. My mother came from a different area and she is still very happy and you can not tell any difference.

We really liked Madison Meadows. It is an older facility, but when we toured they were in the process of updating it. All of the staff we spoke with were friendly and patient while we figured out where we were going to go. The only reason we did not choose this facility was because it was strictly independent living. We knew she would eventually need more care and we did not want her to make friends and then have to move.
I would tell others to come on board here. I would recommend the community to any of my friends. The staff is very aware of your condition, and as a result they either work with it or around it to make you feel comfortable here. The desserts are the best here! Our chef is really good at making desserts. The food overall could be improved.

I wouldn't mind living here when the times come. [name removed] helped get things into my loved one's room. The staff would call if there were any type of concern or question about my loved one. They were all really nice. The staff jumped in even when the service wasn't one we signed up for. The rooms were big. The closet was a normal size, and my loved one had a studio. The shower had rails and a walk in to make it easier for my loved one.

Our experience has been good so far we have had no complaints and the staff members are very friendly. Our loved one enjoys the meals and because of covid they are being delivered to their rooms, and he also really likes the social happy hours.

Given the current circumstances that have been doing a stellar job, they keep the residents informed and up to date with everything regarding covid and they are very accommodating.

Madison Meadows wasn't the perfect fit for us but offers an affordable community. Our needs were more for a Continuous Care Community for possible future needs but otherwise would have made it a strong contender. [name removed] did a great job giving us a comprehensive tour and highlighted the benefits of this independent living community.

The staff at Madison Meadows has been wonderful. The cleaning crew especially has done a really good job and always has a positive attitude, especially during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic when a clean community is more important than ever. The community has been really accommodating with some of my friend's behaviors. The staff really seem to be able to handle him well and are very respectful of his independence, while at the same time making sure he is receiving the level of care he needs. His mental state has also improved noticeably since moving into Madison Meadows from his previous community. The location here is particularly great because it is right in downtown Phoenix and there are a lot of familiar activities for him to participate in. In his previous community, he was paying more for less attentive care, so I feel he is getting a better value for his money here. They are flexible and willing to accommodate especially with diet. The community has a lot of activities available for the residents. Even when they are not conducting their own activities on-site, they encourage my friend to do things outside of the community in downtown Phoenix. With the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the staff has done a good job of keeping me informed about what actions they are taking to keep the residents safe. They are doing a good job with food delivery as well since residents are required to be socially distanced. They are keeping in-line with the government's recommendations.

Madison Meadows is a small community. The facility was previously a school for deaf and or blind children. It was refurbished into the senior care facility it is today. There is evidence that not a lot of money was put into the refurbishing or maintenance on the facility has been lax as patches in walls, etc. are very evident. The seniors that live there seem to like it, and the place is a friendly environment. One of the selling points of the facility is that three meals a day are included in the rent. The meals have few options, sort of like school lunches where your selections are few and it is take it or leave it. I did not sample the food so I cannot comment on the quality. Only the two bedroom units have washer/dryers in them, the rest share a common laundromat. As this is a one story facility, it could be quite a walk from your apartment. When I was visiting, only one person was in the laundry room, which has about six washers and six dryers. They do have an activities director who seems to work very hard at getting people to participate in some of the activities. I did not get a good vibe from this place, but that might be just me.

[Name removed] didn't care for this place. It looked past its prime. The guests have to go outside in inclement weather to go to the main building. Although the price is good, the facility was not up to her standards.

Apartments small for price and old and out-of-date. I don't know if shabby is right word. Looked like unskilled labor did general maintenance. Staff and residents fantastic. According to residents, 7% rate increase annually.

I toured this facility while looking for a place for my Father. It is an older building that has been turned from a school into an assisted living facility. It was very well kept, however, it just felt uncomfortable and I couldn’t put my finger on it. The location itself wasn’t the best and it was right next to a very busy road. I know my Father wouldn’t be able to walk to the store and he isn’t able to drive. The gentleman who gave us the tour was new but he seemed to be knowledgeable. He knew the answers to all of my questions and he was quite friendly. I would recommend this facility to other families.

The facility was a bit old/not updated. The clientelle seemed a bit on the older side, though it was hard to tell. Staff was friendly and kind. Layout was lovely. Value for the money.

Ask someone to name five really fun things and retirement community will almost certainly not be on the list. Which got us to thinking. Why shouldn't a retirement community be fun? With no pesky job to get in the way, retired folks have the time to pursue anything their hearts desire. That sounds...
