The administration at Heritage Muskego does not respond to family concerns, does not staff well and is seldom available for promised care meetings. Although some of the daily staff are caring most do little to engage the residents, activities are minimal and child like - they are not treated like adults. Many of the staff are third party “caregivers “ not Heritage employees. If your parent needs additional help this is NOT the place for them.

I was quite pleased with Heritage Muskegon. [name removed] was excellent, accommodating, and very professional. The facility was clean and well maintained. The staff was very friendly and I could see in the vast majority a true commitment to caring for the elderly. Nursing staff was great to work with. The fours that you see were primarily due to what I would consider a shortage of staff which is/was common at that time. This put added pressure on those who were there and as a result there were some minor gaps in care but certainly nothing significant. I can't imagine this wasn't true across the industry. Overall high mark's and highly recommended.

Expensive and continually cutting corners to save $ at the expense of residents. Concerned about their convenience not the happiness of the residents. We have no complaints about 1 &2 shift nurses and cnas on 2nd floor. Other problems exist.

They have started to resume their inside activities, and what they are offering the residents are enjoying. If anything happens to our loved one for example if they fall, they call us immediately with updates. If we ever have to call with questions they are so responsive which is huge. Everyone there is awesome, but the two nurses our family speaks with are just amazing, they really go above and beyond.

We toured this community and it was very elegant and inviting. The tour was good and the staff was very friendly. The price was on the high end of our scale so unfortunately, it didn't meet our needs at the time.
The staff is very friendly and they always had wonderful activities for the families. We were so happy that my mom spent the last months of her life in such a friendly place. it's a smaller community but I think she received more one on one attention I would recommend this community to others.

We chose Hertiage of Muskego because the staff members were friendly and helpful, the location, and what they said they had to offer. The room sizes here are adequate. My dad says the food is hit or miss, they have some selection but it would be nicer to have more variety. The staff is good, but communication could be better as far as what is going on inside the facility with all of the COVID stuff. I also wish they allowed more family visits, because I have not seen him since March. They are doing virtual visits, but he is not good at communication that way so it makes it hard.

I would want others to know when looking into Heritage of Muskego that my dad had Parkinson's and he needed a lot of care. A lot of times we found that they pushed him off into a corner because they thought he was disrupting other residents. We were not happy with the care we received here, I do not think they were doing the things they needed to do or monitoring him as they should have been. He needed feedings and I had to get staff to help him and I had to give them suggestions, we felt like we were doing all the work. We are very disappointed and they are not what they said they were going to be. They do not have experience with Parkinson's disease. They did not treat residents like human beings.

We do offer a wide range of amenities and services, which are included in the price, so our residents and their families can feel secure in the knowledge that they are well taken care of.
Four of us toured this facility and agreed, this is not the right fit for our mom. Nothing wrong with it, in fact it was really nice, but not what we were looking for

A Place for Mom has scored Heritage of Muskego 5.5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
