My mom moved in at 92, having lived in our family home for 63 years. It could have been a rough transition, but it was really good. All credit goes to the staff at Avalon Square. From front desk to nursing aides to cleaning and maintenance they are kind, cheerful and responsive, My mom has had only positive interactions with everyone. No one is ever too busy to say hello or to help. The food is very good and abundant. The facility is clean and offers many activities and levels of service. This is the right place!... Read more

Really clean facility, extremely friendly staff. The staff on the Memory Care Floor, are sloppy when it comes to answering questions, they seem to be doing their own thing and bit working as a team, communication is lacking BIG TIME, also looks like everyone just leaves at the end of shift, without talking to the on-coming shift. What also got to me was the backlashing of employees talking about other employees, and their personal lives. I FLATLY refuse to put my family member in a place like this. My family member doesn't need to hear about your boyfriend or other family problems, or your lack of respect for other employees. What else I do not understand is with so many people on a small floor, why the residents have to wait a long time ( 5 or minutes ) for their call light to be answered? I also overheard one resident say they will not answer a light that isn't on their " list "? I was really, very disappoint in the lack of professionalism!!!

The tour was good and the staff was nice. They answered all of my questions. They explained everything very well. The room was small and an odd set up. Mom would've loved the history of Waukesha that was inside. And they had a little diner set up in there that was so nice. They are located downtown and had very limited parking.
