Highly recommend

I chose Friendship Village because I knew of its reputation, my mother was here many years ago. Also the swimming pool was a big plus as well. My apartment size is perfect and they do have a variety of sizes available to choose from. I am very satisfied and it was a good decision. I would definitely recommend.

Worth taking a look at

I was not impressed with the rehabilitation services at this community. They did not seem to help my loved one much while she stayed here. The community is clean and the people were nice. I do have some friends that have had a good experience with this community.

Huge campus and ever expanding. The olderbuilding/units are showing some age and hallways somewhat claustrophobic. But the financial options for choosing residency are plentiful and appears every effort is made to make sure you are certain of your decision and reasonable refund policies. Focus is also on keeping you for life...not just until your money runs out. Memory care not really an option however.

I am delighted that my dad chose Friendship Village of Dublin as it was my personal favorite of all the Columbus-area communities we visited with him that offer the full continuum (independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing care facility). Very pretty, well maintained, spacious campus; lovely facilities-amenities (e.g., the indoor pool is large and gorgeous, the woodworking shop is amazing, good-sized library); thoughtfully designed apartment units that have been very recently renovated or are about to be; the food is good (albeit blandly seasoned) and you have your choice of 4 different, attractive dining venues. While visiting, we happened to meet up with a nurse whose widowed mother has been a FVD resident for a number of years; her positive opinion of the medical care-attention her mother has received was reassuring, coming from a medical professional. What really set FVD apart from the others he considered is the nature of the programs-activities: more varied and with more offerings for those, like my dad, who are mentally sharp, have minimal physical challenges & many interests, i.e., you won't see just basic arts-and-crafts classes & Bingo and the like on the FVD calendar. Perhaps because of this & the fact that generally younger folks live in the stand-alone Villas, FVD seems to have a more robust population. I'm happy my dad moved into his 1-bedroom apartment before his health required him to give up his home, so he too can enjoy all that FVD offers. And he has had nothing but good things to say about all the staff he has encountered. Christine Bukowski was the marketing counselor who worked with my father. Her answers to our many questions were clear, informative, and without any of the "smoke and mirrors" we occasionally encountered elsewhere. After he made the decision, Christine greatly facilitated the move and transition. Recommend that you visit at least several communities, ask for copies of the agreements you'd be expected to sign, and carefully review them. The financial aspects -- and what is included, or not -- vary (none of the ones we visited had the same financial-services-amenities plans). If you're so inclined, making a spreadsheet can help you identify which aspects of a place make it well suited (or not) to your needs and wishes. Also try to suss out how financially healthy each place is. What appears to be a fine deal today is meaningless if the place is not on good financial footing & will soon charge you sharply increased monthly charges for the same (or reduced) level of services. Best wishes to everyone exploring the options. Hope you, or your loved one, end up as pleased and happy as my dad is with his choice of FVD!

Nice looking place!

We toured this community while looking into care options for a loved one. Friendship Village of Dublin looked like a very nice place, overall! The people here were friendly, and the facility was clean and well kept. We actually ended up choosing another Friendship Village facility (one a bit closer to us) and we're very happy with them, it is a great company!

It was very nice and so large,

I had a friend who is very set on this community, but they wanted 98k down payment. It was very nice and so large, but the down payment would just tie up so very much money. I went with a more reasonably priced community with a great pool!
