Fairway Vista II

During the stay at fairway my father seemed to make many improvements. The decision to move him to an assisted living was a hard step to swallow but after the recent passing of my mother seemed more than necessary. With him being alone at home and no one around to keep a close eye on him family and myself felt that would put him more at risk since he had early signs of dementia. We immediately set up a tour soon as a close friend had many good things to say about this place. I will admit that I was very impressed that the facility was located in a neighborhood as any other house. when I thought of assisted living the only thing that came to mind was much like a hospital. After meeting with the owner and the assistant we felt that we have found the place for dad. He settled right in with the other gentleman that live at the facility as if they had been friends for years! The fact that he had a new set of companion's really helped with the fact that my mother was no longer around anymore

Our first meeting with the owner of this place led us to believe that she was a kind and caring woman that wanted to assist with the care of our father. Unfortunately, he died within hours of arriving at her facility. Since my father passed away before spending even 12 hours at the home, there was a substantial amount of money to be refunded because the owner originally required a $3800 advance payment for a prorated month stay. The owner originally promised a refund within 2 weeks. It's 2 months later and we still have no refund. We have repeatedly contacted Fairway Vista by email and phone with no response. We have resorted to filing suit in small claims court, contacting Health and Human Services regarding her license and filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Please beware. What kind of person steals money from a grieving family?

What a blessing to have found this facility! Located in a regular, upscale residential area of Round Rock my loved one actually felt as if he had moved into a new home. I was able to take him on walks around the neighborhood or sit with him on the front porch to watch the activities of the neighbors. This facility, a personal care home, provides custodial care for individuals that need help with daily living needs which is exactly what my loved one needed. The care was provided in a loving and compassionate manner. Mealtimes around the large dining room table with the other residents was one of his favorite activities. The monthly cost for his care was well below that of a nursing home or assisted living facilities in the area. While not all the residents at the facility were happy to be there, my loved one seemed excited each day with what he perceived to be his new family for the year he lived there until he passed.

THIS IS A TERRIBLE PLACE FOR YOUR LOVED ONE. Kerri the owner promised all sorts of things that were not delivered, I over herd the staff complaining about things going on within the facility many times. From missing narcotics, neglected residents that they found soiled from the morning shift, morning staff coming in hung over or still drunk and just sitting down and on there cell phone. Another time I even herd of Kerri the owner at the facility one evening drinking, and that the girls had found beer in the trash cans. She allows the shifts to be short on staff. If it were up to me id shut this place down myself , its a money scheme and the 4000 a month for a private room is not worth it for the care, and quality.
