Brookdale Georgetown was a nice facility, but it needs serious updating. The staff was super nice, but the activities were slim to none. It is not a very big facility, though. It seemed like it was mostly religious and my loved one doesn't do religious stuff. It felt like more of a nursing home setting, my loved one was not ready for that. I cannot say anything about the meals, but my loved one said that they were good. Would I recommend it, yes. But only to somebody who is a lot less active than my loved one. It really needs to be updated.

Our overall experience has been very good. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the administrators have been very responsive. Our only concern has been that they are occasionally short staffed. My mother-in-law has had a good experience thus far. It was a smaller community with more of a family atmosphere. My mother-in-law needs a higher level of care and this community has been able to provide that.

I’d like to say that the fact that they’ve won for best meals is a joke. I have photos of the food my grandmother was served and I would not feed it to a dog or a person starving. They didn’t like the food at all. Second, the staff has major attitudes allllll the time. They think they know best, but in fact, they don’t. They insert their noses where they do not belong. Your job is to care for our loved ones and you do it with eye rolls and major attitudes. Seen it first hand. Third, they tell you “just pull the cord” when you need assistance. Usually over an hour later they will get to you. When they do answer the call, it’s with attitudes. And then sometimes, they just don’t bother answering the page all together. Had we had another option, probably would have gone running from that place like we were on fire.

Response from Brookdale Georgetown
February 20, 2024We take your comments seriously and are committed to providing quality care and services to our residents. We would welcome an opportunity to discuss any concerns you may have and hope you will contact our management team to discuss further.
Being at Brookdale has changed our lives for the better in so many ways. We were in a rehab and looking for a community to call home. No one would accept Barbara and I began to lose hope. When nurse [name removed] at Brookdale came to see us, it wasn’t looking too good based on Barbara’s condition. But she was gracious enough to reassess closer to our discharge date. And now we call Brookdale home. Barbara is doing better than expected and is even off of hospice! Brookdale has really answered our prayers and I couldn’t imagine having Barbara anywhere else.

My father has lived at Brookdale GT for several years. Prior to moving him there, we were at another assistant living facility which was an absolute awful experience. On one occasion, my father called me afraid and upset because there were no staff members answering. When I phoned the direct line to the facility, the young lady stated that she was the only one to show up to work. Since being at Brookdale, the staffing has not changed. This community has not had a revolving door like most places. The nurse [name removed] has been very helpful with my father who has had medication side effects. She noticed my father experiencing tardiness dyskinesia from a new medication and she acted fast by contacting me and his physician. I could go on with so many great experiences at this community. When you walk in, it may be dated but the atmosphere is pleasant as if you are home. Thank you Brookdale Georgetown! ~Tara

I cannot express how great this community is. The staff has been at this community for many years. They might not be the trendiest community but my father feels at home and is comfortable in the environment. My father also enjoyed the home cooked meals, I even enjoy lunch with him from time to time. Don’t look anywhere else this is a great place to call home.

I visited this community for my dad who needs help with his ADLs. The community was clean and the staff was friendly and assisting other residents. The residents all appeared to be clean and happy. I met their nurse, maintenance man and the Executive Director. I was very impressed with the feel of the community. It's small community with the home like feeling. I believe my dad would be very happy here.

The staff is wonderful and caring to the residents. The nursing care they receive is great. They celebrate successes of the milestones of residents (being released from hospice, being in rehab units).

I can't give the staff enough thanks for everything they do for our dad. They go above and beyond and make sure he is well taken care of. It's always the same staff so he sees the same face everyday. They send me pictures and updates of what he is doing and there is always a smile on his face. I couldn't ask for a better place.

The people here are very knowledgeable about the work they do. It is very peaceful in the community and I enjoy talking with the caregivers and the resident programs coordinator. They have made a difference in my life and being here feels very warm and inviting. I was quiet when I first came here and after getting more comfortable, I feel like I opened up and came back to reality.

All the staff and caregivers make everyone feel like family. I can ask them anything and they are always willing to help. They have activities for the residents. If I get home and there was something I needed to do for Mom I can call and they will help get the job done for me. They try to do what is best for Mom.

Brookdale has a wonderful staff that truly cares about our loves ones. They go above and beyond caring for their residents. We feel like we have a personal relationships with everyone there. Walking in the front door, makes you feel right at home. The meals served are excellent. There are so many activities and/or areas for the residents to get involved in. We very blessed to have our family member living there.

Our family had an in person tour with Brookdale Georgetown and it was a good tour experience but it was a little too old and run down for our liking
Everything is going very well. We really like the staff and it just feels like a homey place. Where he was before there were not many coherent people, but here there are more residents that he is able to interact and socialize with. The food is very good, that was one of the reasons we moved to this facility as well. I would recommend Brookdale Georgetown.

This facility is fairly small and the staff all knows my loved one and our family members by name. Housekeeping does a great job, his bed is always made and his room is always clean. He's very well taken care of here. The staff is just great and we're very pleased with them. Communication with the family is very good. It's an older facility, but always smells and looks clean. I would recommend them to friends and family.

I cannot say enough good things about the staff and atmosphere at Brookdale Georgetown. It doesn't have all the fancy things some facilities have like a movie theater etc., but it's more of an intimate setting where you get to know all the care givers and they really care about the health and well-being of your family member.

A Place for Mom has scored Brookdale Georgetown 9.6 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
