Our father has been at a different memory care facility for seven months, and we were not happy with the lack of training for the staff and the fact that he sat in his room alone all day. We made the difficult decision to move him and after touring several places, chose Churchill Place, he is engaging with staff and residents, participating in activities, and seems comfortable in his new surrounding! We could not be happier with the care he is receiving, the way everyone interacts with both him and us, and the friendliness and competency of the staff. What has made Churchhill Place such a great experience is the staff! Dad passed away in [date removed] but for the few months he was there the staff was outstanding! We would absolutely recommend this community to other families based on the experience we had with Churchill Place.... Read more

If you have a family member that needs memory care, I would recommend this community to others. They are friendly and supportive. One thing that appealed to us is the music, and one of the residents plays the piano. This allows other residents to do sing alongs. They even have quiz sessions for the residents to participate in. They have both physicals and occupational therapy if needed by residents. The community has birthday celebrations for the residents. Over the holidays they did virtual visits with families and residents to keep them in contact. This was great and I appreciated that.

May 4, 2021We are so happy you have chosen us for your loved one! We strive to make all of our families feel the same way you do!
It was such an usual time with covid, but our overall experience was good. The staff members were kind and paid attention to not only my husband but to me as well. The staff members were just very nice and friendly, and we would recommend this community to others.
The team at Charter Living has shown me what it means to care for someone. Not only does my aunt get the best care, she is also treated like a friends and loved one by the staff. They keep me in touch with all her care and are extremely knowledgeable for my aunt. I can't say enough about the wonderful staff at Charter! Thank you for all you for the community at Charter. It shows you truly love your job and enhance your resident's lives.

I couldn't find a better home for my wife than Charter Senior Living Glen Ellyn. From the caregivers and nurses, to the office staff and activity leaders, to the people in the kitchen and maintenance and housekeeping - they do so much not just to provide care, but compassionate, attentive, and loving care. It is very reassuring to me. They have a good daily activity program to keep residents engaged and add meaning to their days. No one is perfect but when a few issues came up, they were quickly resolved without any hesitation. They are pleasant and accommodating to work with. What really come through is they sincerely care for the residents and their families.

They have been on top of the COVID-19 pandemic since the beginning, implemented rigorous protocols, and had no infections. And they still keep families in touch with their loved ones.

May 4, 2021Thank you for the great review and for entrusting your loved one to be in our care!
Everyone at Charter Senior living of Glen Ellyn is fantastic! Very caring, and loving. [names removed] are some of the best women I have ever known. All of the nurses are also great! My mother came from another facility that could care less about her. Charter works with all residents. They have a specific program called "I'm still here" and it is wonderful! I would recommend Charter to anyone who has a loved one with dementia or alzheimers. I am so glad my Mom is here. Thank you Charter

May 4, 2021We are so glad your Mom is here too Julie! She enhances our life every day! It has been a joy to watch her flourish under our programming!
If I could give higher than 5 stars, I would. My stepmom, brothers, and myself were very hesitant to put my dad into a memory care facility. However, from the start, the Executive Director [name removed] was extraordinary and so supportive! She gave us time and information we needed to feel more comfortable. She is also great with the residents as she enthusiastically makes time to interact with the residents regularly. We genuinely feel like my dad has received the best care from everybody there. [name removed] and all of the employees—the office staff, the nurses, the caretakers, the activity personal, and even the chefs show a true interest and care in the residents and families. All of the employees work as a team and pitch in when necessary! When your loved one goes there, they are cared for in a gentle, adult manner and he/she gains new friends from other residents and the employees. As a family member, you are treated with respect and love; just as if you are one of their own personal family members. Since the maximum amount of residents is smaller than competitor’s, you get to know the other residents and their families quickly. It is a natural support group! The facility designed nicely and looks/feels like a home. It is tidy and clean. Thank you Charter of Glen Ellyn for making a tough journey easier! I would highly recommend Charter of Glen Ellyn!

I highly and unequivocally recommend Charter of Glen Ellyn. I found myself in the position of needing to move my mother again after four homes in four years (that had looked and sounded great) let us down, and I didn’t know where to turn. I spotted a memory place in the area that had a new name, so I scheduled a meeting with the outstanding executive director, [name removed] (she is the best—a natural with seniors and what they need!). From the minute I first stepped into Charter and met with [name removed] , I knew this marvelous place was the perfect place for my mom...and it really has been. The entire wonderful staff works together to meet the needs of my mom—they are the absolute best I’ve ever seen! I’ve really have never experienced anything like it. They read the background sheets and strive to make her welcome and comfortable. They care for medical needs—some I didn’t know she had. They keep me informed. Even the doctor runs things by me. They keep the residents busy with incredibly creative and legitimately fun things to do. Most importantly, they love my mom to pieces and make her feel special. My mom has found her happy forever home and I’m grateful.

This community did a great job with the Covid pandemic. The director has turned this facility around. The director has improved communication with the residents' families.

After some difficult stages of Charter since April 2019, the direction, care and attention to important and smooth running of this all important business of a memory care facility has improved. And since the CDC regulations have been implemented and followed, the residents and staff have remained safe and Covid free.

I have no regrets for choosing Charter to take of my wife. The nurses, caregivers, and entire staff are very attentive and kind. They have a robust resident activity program. Building upkeep and cleanliness are excellent. Food service is quite good. On the few occasions when there's been a problem (no one's perfect) it's been recognized and quickly resolved.

I would recommend Charter Senior Living in Glen Ellyn because I have seen this place go from Autumn Leaves which was poorly run to a better run memory care facility named Charter Senior Living. The director ([name removed]) has been very responsive to all my requests. I feel that this community is way better run than Autumn Leaves use to be. I had no communication with the director at Autumn Leaves and was very hard to communicate with AL director. At Charter, the caregivers, nurses, chefs and activity personal are the best I have seen in years. The activities are very helpful for my mom. The birthday parties for each resident are great.

We were at a previous home that [name removed] was director at and were pleased with my dad being there and were there for months and when she left we were so upset and didn't have the same response with the new staff that took over. We have since found where she is at and my dad is flourishing with his care there and the staff that is familiar with him, since she's taken over at Charter Senior living we have seen only positive changes in him with his memory and the care herself and current staff give. I would definitely recommend 110% Charter Seniors Living of Glen Ellyn and [name removed] to anyone that asks. We are above and beyond pleased with his current place he calls home.

My loved one currently resides at Charter Glen Ellyn. Charter took over April 1st, 2019 and facility has gone downhill since then. Current executive director is very difficult to work with and many staff have quit (including some who came with her from previous employer). Majority of caregivers are agency staff and don't know residents' names or habits. I witnessed an agency nurse on her first day asking RESIDENTS their name in order to give medication. Residents are crammed in TV room during day even though there are many other areas for sitting. We are very dissatisfied with the current level of care and are actively looking for another facility.

This new company CSL took over in May 2019 and no improvements have been seen at this facility. The new staff pushed out all the people that cared for the residents. There is no one to trust with my mom. Need more help for care for the residents. I am very disappointed with the care here at this facility and considering moving my mom out of here. This company has other assisted living facilities and have never had a memory care facility. The learning curve is very slow.

I called Charter Senior Living of Glen Ellyn, looking for a facility for my father. Unfortunately this wasn’t the right fit for my dad. [Name removed] was the most compassionate person I’ve come in contact on this difficult journey. She was so very helpful, and understanding in my struggles to find a facility for my dad. Charter Senior Living is lucky to have her representing this organization!

We did not have a positive experience here. The decor is beautiful, but the staffing is totally inadequate. We felt that the both the quantity and the quality of the staff was below any acceptable standard. When we raised concerns with management, we were patronized and ignored. And we were concerned about things like urine soaked sheets, lack of supervision, horrible food, etc.
