Chesapeake Place Senior Living

My mother has been living here for 8 months. She is very settled in and enjoying life at Chesapeake Place. She especially loves spending time on the porch in the fresh air with the companionship of others. She is very satisfied with the meals and her dining eating in the dining room and interacting with her friends. On Tuesdays she goes to the salon , she uses the library as she loves to read. The best part is the daily care from the staff, they are so pleasant and caring and know her and her needs, which is a real comfort for us, her family. This is the best place to live.

My mom is doing pretty well at Chesapeake place. I wish she would do more of the activities but that's on her. Staff seems very friendly and takes care of my questions. I appreciate that.

[Name removed] always helps me with my father and assist us with any of our needs. She goes above and beyond to listen to my dads needs and make sure he is happy at Chesapeake Place! My dad is not always in the best of moods but she willmake him laugh every time. She assisted us from my very first stop to view the facility. Always full of information to help! I chose dining as a first review because of my love for food. My favorite meal of the day is breakfast. Each morning I look forward to my oatmeal, scrambled eggs, and bacon or sausage with toast, and a sweet pastry. Before I begin my breakfast, I want coffee, juice, and a glass of water. I often enjoy a second cup of coffee. Other breakfast options include pancakes, dry cereal or yogurt. Once I finish my delicious breakfast, I am satisfied and ready to start the day. As the day goes on, I also look forward to an appetizing lunch and dinner. My review would not be complete if I did not express that mealtime is very special. Our dining experience is not only a time for eating but an opportunity for our “Chesapeake Place Family” to share and fellowship, Although, I enjoy the food and the time spent with my friends, I appreciate the fine service and the attention given by the entire dining staff to include student servers. Everyone is very polite, courteous, and accommodating.

We have had some struggles but it is starting to improve. They are losing their director of nursing though and she is the one who was making changes happen. I would tell others to constantly check on your loved one initially to make the staffing understand how to take care of their needs. Everyone is different and responds to care in different ways and they do not always see that. It does seem that they have a lot of turnover so I have to tell the new staff what to do.

If you happen to be one of the lucky persons whose family, or you, individually, chose Chesapeake Place Senior Living as your new home, you are in for many great surprises! One of your very first encounters will be in our 5 star dining area. Everyone loves to be able to sit down and enjoy one of the many savory dishes prepared by our experienced chefs.....they prefer to be called cooks. Whatever you call them they know what they are doing. Labor Day, September 5th is a great day for a picnic type meal. Hot dogs, hamburgers, potato salad, and baked beans......and of course you can't forget the sweet tea. I'm a Pennsylvania Yankee and sweet tea was a new drink for me. Up north it was just iced tea. Today's meal for lunch was fried chicken, macaroni and cheese and corn/lima bean veggies with a cornbread bisquit. And seconds 're available....just ask one of the attendants who serve your table. Whatever the meal, breakfast, lunch or dinner I guarantee no disappointments.

Chesapeake Place Senior Living is a beautiful facility - the staff and residents living there are just awesome. Everyone is extremely friendly, super nice and very very helpful. However, the food they have can use improvement - the quality could be so much better. They do not serve the residents many vegetables and what vegetables they do get served looks like they come straight from a can as opposed to be fresh.

My family member is happy there, and we're happy with our choice. Chesapeake Place is close to where we live. It's very clean. And I like that she has everything she needs all in one place.

We are very pleased with Chesapeake Place Senior Living. Our Mom's stay started as a respite stay, but since things went well we made the decision to make Chesapeake Place her new home. We've switched out the respite furniture and moved our Mom's things in, so it looks more like home. Carolyn Hewlett has been wonderful and the rest of the staff we've worked with. All of the aids are so kind to our Mom and are there when she needs anything. Our Mom's only complaint has been the food; when we brought that up, soon the food manager for the facility was right over to find out what they could do to improve things for her. We worked a few things out and with my sister and I visiting regularly we take her out to eat occasionally as a special treat. Mom is still adjusting to not being home with me, but she's beginning to understand the need for this change.
