The community was always clean. The staff was wonderful, definitely a five. They connected really well with the families. They went out of the way to make my mother feel at home and integrate her with the other residents. The services were great. The laundry services were great as well. The food was fantastic and it was like a restaurant, you would get a menu and they always had lots of good choices. Absolutely a great value for the price. Would recommend to others!

memory care is a dump - it is filthy dirty - - saw a hangar keeping a door open in someones room = patients are all gathered like cattle in a common area - staff are found eating, on cell phones and even sleeping - no attention being paid to patients. have witnessed dinner being served in dining room - plates are removed before patient is done eating. Saw a patient grabbing something off her plate as it was being wisked away . have witnessed staff stuffing their faces with left over food. all staff - nurses and aides have not an ounce of compassion /caring/empathy/respect for patients -- they somehow forget these patients they ignore - actually pay their salary. have witness staff come behind a patient grab hold and move wheel chair without even telling patient what they are doing-- patient starts yelling and grabbing and staff's comment 'stop yelling and keep you hands in your lap'. management is pathetic, unresponsive to concerns - the fact that they allow the place to be so filthy - they should be embarrased to call themselves leaders . stay away --unfortunately I am not derision maker -- otherwise my loved one would be long gone state should close this place down this is a no star facility

My husband stayed at The Linden for three months. While he liked many of the caregivers, he thought the food was terrible. Further he very much disliked not having a choice of who to sit with or any flexibility in time to access the main meals. For the first month we paid an extra $600 while he was assessed for actual requirements. We were supposed to have a meeting after he had been there a month, but it was like pulling teeth to get a meeting with the Wellness Director. After going to the Executive Director twice we finally got our meeting where it was determined that we did not need to pay the $600. Because of this delay in scheduling a meeting we ultimately paid an additional $600. Further we got a song and dance from the Wellness Director on how overworked she was.

Such stellar care.....NOT ... Walked in today to find my mother covered in whatever she had for lunch and drooling what she had for lunch .... 2 hours after lunch.. asked about mouth care was told ‘ regulation allows them to use toothbrush twice a day’. Asked about toothette - a foam swab - was told by nurse that is ‘ not supplied here- nor is it regulation to use’. Bottom line - she in an assisted living because she can no longer care for herself - yet they do not provide head to toe care. Hmmm Do not place your loved one here. Has been under 3 different management companies. - nurses and aides are a disgrace to healthcare — — unfortunately - decision maker in family is comfortable with her being. ‘ safe’ apparently not whether she receives comprehensive care

My father has been a resident for a year. Right from the beginning he was made to feel welcomed. Everyone at the Linden, from the staff, aides, nurses, dinning staff and director are all very kind and caring. The place feels more like a family and as a daughter it makes me feel so happy and secure for my father!

In my 50’s Wanted to cry when I walked into my mothers apartment today. Food all over the floor - all over her - was clearly from day before as her breakfast was sitting untouched at 1130 in the morning. So not only was she not cleaned up for the night it was obvious to me she had not been taken to bathroom since day before or even longer. Not sure why I bother to ask staff when she was washed or taken to bathroom as their response is always ‘she refused’. My mother has dementia. She is frightened when staff come in and start touching her without any kind of greeting - it’s no wonder she says no. So is their solution to let an 85 yo woman just sit for days in same spot covered in food and incontinent?? There is no specialized dementia care exhibited by staff. I realize this client population can be challenging however they deserve common courtesy and respect and patience. On the wall the unit has ‘integrity and compassion ‘ painted on walls. - what a joke. The carpet is filthy and disgusting. Talk about not meeting the first impression test— door /carpet outside entrance of memory car is full of grotesque stains- as you tour the unit you will see the same through and in resident rooms. I wish I could move her - however other siblings live in area.

Nurses on memory care unit the most uncaring - insensitive - no regard for dignity and needs of the most vulnerable human beings ..... our parents. No compassion whatsoever. They are disgrace to nursing profession. Nursing assistants are not any better. Observed one of them barge into a resident room - slam door behind her and tell this elderly woman - ‘your getting ready for bed now’’. What happened to resident choice - rights- individualized plans of care. So much for resident rights they display on walls. I listen to one of the nursing assistants refer to residents as ‘Auntie’ or call them ‘Mama’. Absolutely no respect for anyone under her care. Don’t waste your time here

Response from Charter Senior Living of Danvers
June 10, 2019Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Please know that the quality of service you describe is not typical of this community and does not represent our values or expectations as a company. I can assure you that the General Manager would want to know immediately if this type of experience ever occurred or was witnessed. He, and his entire team, are dedicated to treating residents with dignity and respect. If someone on the team falls short, he would want to take care of it right away. In the future, if you are witness to this type of situation, I would ask that you would immediately bring these concerns to the attention of management. Regardless of whether you are an employee or family member, I would encourage you to request a meeting with the General Manager to discuss any personal concerns you have. I am certain we can assist regardless of the circumstances. If you would rather speak to me, that is perfectly acceptable as well. Respectfully, Jodi Joubert, Operations Manager
Walked in to find my mother naked sitting on toilet with a male nursing assistant standing there doing nothing. No consideration for her privacy and or dignity This is commonplace and has been brought to management attention with no changes. The place is filthy. Walked on unit one day to find every patient sitting in living room with a Spanish tv station while all the staff watched a soccer game. Again commonplace and never addressed by incompetent uncaring management. Stay away - did you parent work hard their entire life to live like this ?? Unfortunately I am not the healthcare decision maker

Found this place through a place for Mom. My 92year old Uncle calls this place home. He loves it there. Hes made friends, loves the food, and enjoys the activities. The charge nurse is really good and the place is immaculate.

[Name removed] and Everyone at Brookdale made you feel at ease, even the residents of the community were very friendly. The surroundings were not only clean but very nicely decorated. The dining hall has alternative food if whats on the menu is not to the residents liking. The residents apartments are impeccable. Nice tan carpets, ample closet space. I'm most pleased with Brookdale than any of the other 5 places we visited.

Very disappointed in the lack of professionalism of this facility. After being assured that this was the right place for our parent they refused to accept him at the last minute leaving us in a bind and scrambling to make other arrangements. The nurse who evaluated him said "maybe I read the wrong chart" after making several false statements about his care needs. We had been very forthcoming throughout the process and nothing had changed about his status. No viable reason was ever given and we are confused and angry. The lack of transparency and double talk from the administration was very unprofessional. The facility is lovely and residents seem happy but our family feels mistreated and deceived.

This seems to be a fairly nice facility. It is clean and the staff and residents are very friendly. Our main concern is that this facility has more of a nursing home feel than my loved one would have liked, but we had an overall good experience with this Brookdale location!

Our loved one has only been here a short time, but so far our experience has been a positive one. The facility itself is well kept and clean, and the staff is friendly and professional and in general they do a good job looking out for the residents. We did have an issue with a very slow response time to our loved one's call button necklace one evening on a weekend, however.
