I toured this community and it was very nice! It's a beautiful place and everyone was friendly. I didn't think it was the best fit for my loved one (Memory Care), but it was a nice facility!
They are all super friendly and helpful. I just think they need to pay attention to details...for example my loved one needs their food cut up...but they continuously just drop it off in the room and then leave. I think there should be a better way of getting in touch with someone after hours and on weekends. Other than these things, I have been happy with CC in Irving. They are very nice and handle the patients really nicely.

My mother comments that the staff is very nice, meals are ok. They are responsive to my requests. The managing staff has turned over in the past couple of months, hopefully the new people will be as good. The building is older but they seem to be renovating rooms as they go. The outside court area could use some refresh as it was ravaged by the big freeze. And it is 3 miles from where I live which makes it easy to visit or respond to my mother when she needs somethin

Their communication is bad. The doctor comes around every Wednesday afternoon, and you have to be on his list for him to see you. But they never tell you who to go to to be put on that list. They have no information on who who you need to go to to get various things done. My loved has minimal care needs at this point aside from medication management, which has been hit or miss. I think the food is okay, but my loved one is picky. Some meals he says are wonderful, others he says are not good. He also says sometime they don't serve what he asked for on the order form. But he has gained weight nevertheless.

We really like the size of the rooms and based on our experience so far we would recommend them to other families.

{name removed] who gave us the initial tour has been really great to work with, and has been great about keeping up with our loved one and keeping in touch with our family. We do know they have bingo which our loved one said they would never play, but actually has played many times. They have a hair salon which was been really good and this Thursday they are having a mothers day tea. Based on the experience we have had so far we would recommend the Cedar Crest community to other families.

Cedar Crest has such a high turnover rate with their staff. the staff I've met are great, but then they are gone within two weeks! we pay for additional care on top of the regular pricing, but the response time is so bad that I have to visit every day just to make sure of little things. this is a direct effect of their turnover issues. I'm trying to be patient with them because of Covid, but that's not an excuse anymore. my loved one needs the max level of care and they do offer that, but it's not being provided. if your loved one needs additional care or needs an attendant to help them to the bathroom or to the common areas, this won't be a good fit because they don't have enough staff. my loved one could press the call button to use the bathroom and then end up waiting an hour; that response time is unacceptable. they've put her in adult depends, not because she needs them, but simply because they can't get to her quickly enough. there have been times when I've needed an extra set of hands and had to walk around the entire facility just to find one person. we've texted, called and emailed about our concerns and they don't seem to be taking any steps in resolving this. because of this, it has not been the greatest experience with Cedar Crest.

I do not feel like my loved one is getting the care that he should be getting. He has only been here a short time but they have yet to sit down with me and go over his care plan. I think that the staff members could improve on their communication with each other, but they do seem to be trying. The residents that I do see when I go in seem to be happy and they have a good amount of activities provided for them. I would just tell others to make sure to be an advocate for your loved ones.

The community is smaller , which we really liked. The staff are very friendly and they treat everyone like family. They really take great care of my mom. The food is diverse which my mom gets a kick out of. She loves the food. She is very happy at the community and is doing real well there. She was able to bring her cat which was so important to her and has been great company for her.

We could not be happier with our decision to move mom to Cedar Crest Assisted Living! The staff is amazing - so friendly and helpful. They really take time to get to know each person and their individual needs. We were in a larger facility before and, while it might have been shinier and newer, mom was just an apartment number to them. At Cedar Crest, everyone knows her and cares about her well being. From the care-givers, to the on-site physical therapists, to the administration - ALL are focused on making sure mom is being given the best experience every day. Compared to other facilities, the costs are very reasonable and there are various levels of care available, depending on individual needs. The facility is older, but well-maintained and so homey feeling - we really enjoy visiting mom and interacting with the staff. I would highly recommend this facility if you are looking for a well-managed and caring Assisted Living home for your loved one!

I moved here in November 1999 after a horrible experience at anther place. The moment I was wheeled inside this community, a wave of "safety" fell over me. My daughter breathed a sigh of relief and went home for the first time of her feeling relieved and no stress.

I moved here from a long-term care facility. The first person employed here to make me feel welcome other than the administrative staff was Floor. The first one employed here that I learned to trust was Amber. All others demonstrate the Elmcroft spirit of family.
