Brookdale Summer Ridge

I would definitely refer others. Your staff and Director were very kind and always available. We were attracted to them, ust being in Rockwall, when I think of Rockwall, I've always felt things there were, well, just "next level". And I believe it was.

My parents have some wonderful staff who truly care, unfortunately those few are the exception. They are grossly understaffed so perhaps if that wasn't the case, maybe some of the staff wouldn't be so exhausted and frustrated. The change in management about a year ago was a turn for the worse. The corporate billing has always been an issue as well. No one should do auto pay.

If the resident has dementia or a progressive illness that would require a higher level of support in the future, Brookdale is not equipped for this. The resident needs to be fairly independent with minimal needs for assistance. I had to move my father within a year due to them unable to meet his growing needs. They told me that they could support him fully as long as he was not a flight risk. That is not true.

If you are looking for a community that truly cares about the engagement of their residents, then look no further. Brookdale Summer Ridge has an amazing activity program that includes, poetry writing, tap dancing and multiple outings. I would highly recommend this community to anyone who is searching.

What they could improve on is telling you something to get you in the door. Then changing the rules after your down payment. The rules kept changing. She got COVID at the facility and passed away. The whole experience was Awful and I would not recommend this place to anyone.

The care is top notch at Brookdale Summer Ridge. The team from the Executive Director and down are all kind, professional and attentive. I love how they all seem to get along like family. My loved one has been cared for like a member of their own family. The building smells nice and the courtyard is gorgeous. I love the landscaping and ease of which my family can get to all of the numerous engaging activities. The food is outstanding. The chef really listens to the residents. Five stars all around!

They did not ASSIST her with anything that she wasn't charged extra for. We had to pull mom out. It was way too expensive for the little care that she was getting. $[removed]a month was too much to pay when it only included housing, utilities, and meals that were not edible(cold, dry, rubbery meat, etc...). If they did anything for her, she was charged a separate charge. I do not recommend at all.

My 92 year old parents lived here for almost one year. This place is one of the worst. They paid for services that were not rendered. The facility is always short handed with no one available to answer call lights. Many times my mom waited over a hour to be taken to the bathroom. They never got the food they ordered on the menu and when questioned "they were out of it". Much of the food was inedible and at one point the facility ran out of food. An activity schedule is posted but it is mostly for show and they just don't happen. The managwment is nonresponsive to complaints. Someone in there golden years deserves better!

This is the best assisted living In Rockwall. They give the homelike cozy atmosphere.The residents are all friendly and welcoming. It's worth a trip to go meet friendly faces and visit the turtles in the courtyard!!

I came to tour Brookdale and was greeted by wonderful staff. The community has a very home like atmosphere and everyone is so friendly. I even stayed for lunch, the food was incredible! I will definitely be back!

I'm glad to see the changes since [name removed] started. From dining because the food has improved and better activities! I think the management team is strong and you can tell people enjoy their jobs. We selected this place because it just felt different. We are glad we did!

I was here as a vendor and I had the opportunity to interact with some of the staff. The place is very nice and well kept. [names removed] are very nice. We even engaged with some of the residents as well and they were quite friendly. The place is very welcoming and the ambiance and atmosphere overall was very pleasant.

I mostly interacted with [name removed] who was the most friendly, courteous and helpful staff member. All staff at the reception was very friendly and helpful which made my friend feel at ease. Initially I was concerned about having to leave her in a very strange place with unfamiliar staff. But after my tour there, I felt very confident to leave her there . Thanks to The Brookdale facility for having [name removed] as an inmate there .

Brookdale Summer Ridge is now my mom’s new home! [name removed] has made the transition from living alone in her own home to living in an assisted living apartment so smooth. It’s a great place and home away from home for my mom!!

They are friendly, they have many long term employees, they are available when we have questions or concerns, the place appears clean and well maintained. Good reviews, positive first visit, and location.

They are very friendly and willing to work with you.I would recommend to others. We picked this community, because of the location, and services.

The Brookdale Summer Ridge community all around has been a good experience for us. They had not yet been giving my dad one of his meals at all, and he ended up getting sick and then we had realized why.

It was not a good experience. They can improve by, hiring enough caregivers for one. I don't think that there is anything they could do to change what has been done. I would never give a better rating. I would not recommend this community to other families.

We moved my father here three months ago from another very nearby assisted living with which we were not happy. The difference is remarkable! This place seems like home. The administrative staff is amazing and very hands on. They are very accessible and quick to address any concerns. My dad seems so much happier and sociable since moving here. We could not be more pleased.

Things have been pretty good overall at this facility. Communication with the family is pretty good. Housekeeping is done once a week and the thoroughness is good. I have noticed that they've been short staffed and have had a high turnover lately. As a result, the response time when my loved one presses his assistance/call button the response time is longer and could improve. Sometimes he calls me saying he pushed his button 30 minutes ago and is still waiting. The food could improve as far as quantity and variety. Overall though, I would recommend this facility to friends and family.
