THE FOOD SELECTIONS ARE GOOD AND THE STAFF REALLY TRIES TO PLEASE THE RESIDENTS. THE ANNUAL PRICE INCREASE COULD BE LOWER. THE DAILY ACTIVITES ARE ENDLESS. THE OVERALL SAFETY IS APPRECIATED. THE LOCATION OF THE FACILITY IS EXCELLENT-------NEAR RESTAURANTS AND SHOPPING.

My mother has lived at Brookdale for the past 3 plus years and loves the facility. The people that work at Brookdale from the administration to the restaurant servers are all very nice and have a great attitude. There are many activities for the residents to get involved with. My mom and her friends really enjoy the food and the majority of the people that live there are fun and kind. My mom has said numerous times just how happy she is living at Brookdale and feels like she is getting a great value for her money. As her son who suggested she move to Brookdale from Florida I am very happy and relieved she likes it so much.

When we first walked in we felt at home and had a peaceful feeling. When we were on the tour, a few residents came up to us and commented about how much they liked it here. Everyone was so friendly. We love our apartment and the size of the rooms. Our furnishings fit in just fine. We also love the entertainment and listening to the bands and singers that perform. We are happy with the food and the many options that are offered. We especially like being served by the friendly servers. The workers greet us with smiles, call us by name and we like the personal touch. Any problems are resolved quickly. We looked at several other places and found this to be a good value. It is perfect for us.

My dad moved to Brookdale 119 in the Independent Living almost a year ago and it was the best move we made for him! He is so happy here and has made lots of friends, his own age. He is a social guy so doesn't spend much time in his apartment. He loves going to meals with friends, playing pool, playing BINGO and playing poker. The staff and residents are very welcoming and helpful. His apartment is clean and inviting. I would recommend Brookdale to others who might be looking for a living experience without all of the home upkeep.

I have referred several friends there. The environment is very warm feeling, very inviting. Not an industrial feel. Love the warm tones vs grey and white. The warmth of the lobby is nice and the dining rooms and pub are really nice. Great place overall and especially for the price.

I was surprised at how the residents "seemed" at different facilities. I do realize how people are at different points in their health and aging. But the people at Brookdale seemed happier, more engaging with chit-chat and a sense of Community. They are very helpful and engaged with the residents. The food is awesome. The only negative I've heard from [name removed] has been around a lack of servers at dinner. Sometimes she has to wait a bit to be served. She's an active person and has enjoyed the activities available there. I really recommend it for people with plenty of life left to live!

I think that I've been most impressed with their extra services. My mom needed a little more help when she moved in and they've been great. The housekeeping is so-so and the facility is clean, but a little dated. I would recommend Brookdale Overland Park 119th to others.

What I like the most about the Brookdale Overland Park community is the friendliness of the staff, the meals and all the activities.

After three years at Brookdale, I feel qualified to tell you that it is a great place. No more cooking, cleaning, yard work or driving as they do everything for you while you are in your amazing and beautiful apartment. There are many choices for you to fill your days here and new friends are plentiful. Friendliest abounds at every turn with staff and residents. If there are any repairs necessary, help is knocking at your door before you hang up the phone. I have been very happy here.

The only thing that was slightly disappointing was the free care you could receive during your 1st month. My stepmother had Covid shortly after arriving, so she had to wait to utilize the service. She ended up only using someone for a couple of hours because they weren't really helpful at helping her finish unpacking. That's really our only low mark. I loved that it was independent but had the "check in" by pressing a button each AM. Then they called or went to check. I loved the main building and everyone was happy and told us how much they enjoyed living there

The staff at Brookdale Overland Park are very friendly and accommodating. They are very helpful getting new residents to feel at home. They have lots of planned activities. The residents are very friendly too.

Great place to live. Highly recommended. Parents are very happy. We picked this community because of the location and reputation.

My loved one is a resident at Brookdale Overland Park and overall everything about her experience has been very good so far. The food is good, sometimes they get the pick up orders wrong. Overall, everyone at this facility has been friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this facility to others.

Our overall experience was good. My blind sister was unable to participate in many activities. The health care was inadequate. Too many people competing for to few internal health care providers. Test results could take weeks. I thought the apartment set up was fine. Good openings and hand holds. The size was fine for a single person.

A Place for Mom referred us. We liked the atmosphere - active and friendly residents, homey and a little fancy. We were keen on having balconies and outdoor areas. The staff have been super responsive and diligent in finding ways of meeting [name removed]needs. They are all respectful of residents and their dignity and autonomy. [name removed]in particular has been a critical support for [name removed] and myself. The dining hall services and menu looked attractive but execution of food is just okay according to [name removed]. Most of his meals have been brought to him which may impact quality of what he's getting. I wish he had availed himself of the activities offered which appear to cater to a wide range of interests. I wish the place had better and more accessible recycling access. All in all, I would recommend Brookdale.

What I really like about Brookdale Overland Park community is that its really nice and quite. The people here also are very friendly. I would recommend this community to other families.

There is a tunnel you have to walk through to get to the dining room that is not heated and they won't do anything to put heat in there. All of the activities they have going on are upstairs so you have to deal with walking up the stairs, and if you want to work out then you have to work out in the heat that is up there.

The lunch meal is good but the dinner meal is usually not too appetizing. I realized that the main meal is at noon but the evening meal is very light and she just usually doesn't feel like eating what they're serving so she ends up just getting a sandwich a lot. Or just making her own food in her room.

The apartment our loved one has is absolutely fantastic and the activities have been nothing but great. However and we do understand it could be because of covid but some other things are just not living up to expectations. Our loved one said the meals started out really good and now have decline - those needs improvements, so we do wish we were getting a little more of our money's worth.
