Brookdale Meadow Springs

My mom has been at Brookdale for 1 1/2 years. They care team is very kind and compassionate.

I love living here, I feel valued and appreciated for what I have done to make this place a home. "Comforts of Home." Flowers, etc. friendliness.

This place has truly welcomed me, I worked in nuclear and found a place where I can remain close to where my family is and be so well cared for. Their staff truly care.

My husband was only there for a month. After the hospitalization they would not take him back because they said they did not have the staff for his level of care.

I would say experience has been good so far. There have been a number of things that were mentioned when we signed up that were not fully explained and I had to ask a few employees before getting it all. My mom has memory issues so I don't really know what is going on when I'm not there. I try to get in about 2-3 times a week.

I was a little nervous first deciding to move into an assisted living setting but this has truly changed my life. My family and I are so happy to have found my home. The staff here have been so caring and wonderful since I moved in just over 3 months ago.

So far, the care is not as advertised and promised by them. The workers that come in for incontinence needs are often not trained and don't know how to correctly help my mom with this.

This has been a good experience for my loved one myself so far with Brookdale Meadow Springs. It has been a hard transition for my loved one going from independent living to having caregivers. The caregivers have helped my loved one understand why they're there to assist her. My loved one has dementia and I'm very impressed with the patience of the caregivers when my loved one gets confused. This is a community I would recommend to others for their loved ones.

We chose this facility because it was recommended to us, the location to me is great, and the grounds are very pretty. The staff is very friendly and I do enjoy talking to them. no issues with the administrative staff [name removed] is always great with getting back to me promptly. My mom does have a cat so they are a pet friendly place. Her birthday was this week and they threw her a little party which I think was great, they even had a 2 man band that came in. There are a few things I feel that need to be addressed such as her medications so we are trying to get things figured out there. Overall it has been good and I would recommend to others looking depending on the level of care your loved one needs.

My father in law fell several times while he was here and none of the staff members would come to help him. I would only put someone here who is very high functioning and more independent, they are just too understaffed to deal with anyone who needs a lot of care. Overnight they only have 1 staff members for 90 residents. They did try to correct things but overall it was not a good experience.

I would recommend the community to others. The staff was very friendly. The administrative team was great at communicating with the family, and upbeat. All of our experiences were during the pandemic. The food could be improved.

Before the pandemic everything was perfect and our loved one was having a good time. Now they have all new employees and they make promises that they cannot follow through with. Over Christmas we dropped things off for our loved one like a Christmas Tree, we asked if they could send us pictures of him so we knew he received our gifts. After three weeks of calling we only got one pictures. Also the nursing staff has been made aware that anytime something happens to our loved one regarding their health, they are to call us first. However, last week we got a call from the doctors office saying the nursing staff called and made an appointment for our loved one. When we call the community and spoke to the head nurse she had no idea what we were talk about.

Brookdale seemed to work out the best for our needs at the time that we were looking. It was good at the beginning, but we have not been super pleased just with everything that is going on now, I am not sure the value is there for the amount of money that we are paying.

I really liked this one. People were very friendly and was very clean. Employees seemed to know their residents by name and they had options

It took me about one month to get used to how they ran things. I was misinformed about a lot of things prior to going there to live. The kitchen needed a lot of change. They printed out menu's but then when you would go to eat, they changed the menu. When it came to meat they served, it was usually very tough to eat and people with dentures had a very difficult time eating. Their fruit plate consisted of canned fruit like peaches or pears. I needed a shower daily, which I was told would be no problem. But I soon found out, I would only get 2 showers a week. Laundry was picked up once a week and when it was returned, it was not a surprise to get some of it returned with stains from a colored towel that had bled onto other clothes; or have socks that were lost. Amd the most important thing was that many times while I was there when I would call for help I had to wait 1/2 hour or more. I was told someone would be there within 15 minutes. Very seldom did that happen.

By far, the most informative visit so far, I was so impressed with [name removed]! She spent a lot of time with me and was willing to help and provide information above and beyond anything I’ve experienced so far! Her willingness to share financial guidance, other possibilities. I’m looking forward to meeting with her again.
