Brookdale Las Vegas

The caregivers are very kind and attentive. Even the activity director [name removed] does special things for the residents. She really goes above and beyond. It is small and intimate so your loved one won’t get lost in the crowd. They worked with us on monthly rate and they are one of the few places that take Medicade pay down if needed. It’s not as fancy as some places but it’s neat and clean. The food is good in my mom’s opinion. My suggestion is that you get established with their doctor immediately because it will make your life easier as far as doctor appointments and prescription refills. Be careful, every service is an up charge. Laundry is included but most other services such as escort service to and from meals is additional. Always ask. I suggested signs or colored floor tape to help new residents find their way around and after over a month I have not heard back so I will follow up. Another suggestion…always follow up. Don’t leave anything to chance. Visit frequently.

The staff was great with my mom. She was there for a short time, but the time she was the staff was great with her. They came to help every time we called no matter what time it was. They helped a lot during a rough time for our family.

We had excellent care. I'll give all of your categories a rating of 5. The combination of Brookdale staff and Physician's Choice hospice provided superb end of life care. In addition, I was able to live with my wife at Brookdale for a nominal additional cost. They also included me in the care to help me through this difficult situation.

I would not use them, I don't think mom had her hair washed the whole time she was there. They also told me they would give me a menu for me to pick her food out, never happened. She also escaped from the regular unit and wondered next door. Luckily the person called the facility and he came to get her I was 110 degrees out. Those were the major things. I was told she would have a private room didn't happen. Please do what you say to family. I also asked if my brother called to check up on my mom and never got an answer. It was like they told you whatever you wanted to hear to get your business.

My mother-in-law was living in NY and her health was declining. I needed to move her to NV quicklyl to get the care she needed close to us. I called a place for mom and based off my criteria they narrowed it down to five places which Brookdale was one of them. They got me in for a tour almost right away! The facility was clean and the staff was friendly! They also helped with payment since my mother in law had to pay out of pocket

They were very willing to negotiate the cost per my mom's specific needs. So far I would recommend them. My mom is very hard to please so she will find something wrong with every situation eventually.

Brookdale Las Vegas was a great experience for our family, sadly our loved one passed away last year. Brookdale was very good to my dad, the staff was very accommodating and friendly. It was a good place with good people.

My loved one was previously a resident at Brookdale Las Vegas and it was a horrible experience! Her money ran out in November. The Medicaid took a couple of months to start and they continued receiving her social security, but after she was there for a year, paying over [amount removed] a month, and instead of waiting, they dumped her at a hospital. They originally told me that they would walk me through the Medicaid process and wait for it to start, but they didn't do anything they said they would do, and they threw away all of her stuff. She passed away 2 weeks later because no one knew what meds to put her on.

What we like the most about the Brookdale Las Vegas community is that it is smaller and more personable. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would definitely recommend this community to other families who may need a place for their loved ones.

Brookdale Las Vegas appears to be the only facility in the area that can give [name removed] the care she needs and allows me to stay with her. Due to Nevada regulations a hospice firm must be involved to augment the Brookdale staff.

They offer activities such as; Art, and Bingo. I had a rough experience getting her in. They kept charging her account when they promised a free month, so I don't necessarily appreciate their sales tactics. However, the care has been good so far, and my loved one is happy, and that's what is most important to me.

My tour experience was amazing. They offer activities such as; puzzles, nail painting, and outside entertainment like singers. My loved one is in a shared room by the window overlooking the courtyard. There is plenty of room for both residents to live around with a spacious shared bathroom. She enjoys all the meals provided in their dining hall that has a restaurant feel. She walks the premises daily, multiple times a day. There is hair care available by appointment which she has already utilized and a small back sitting/lobby area that has books for her to read if she do chose. From a third person perspective looking at my loved one, I have seen a great change in her. She's a lot happier. She still feels independent.

On the all it seems like a decent place. The only downfall is that it seems like there is a lack of communication for it to be such a small community. I thought there would be more communication with it being smaller. They do have activities but they do not really persuade the residents to participate in the activities as much as I would like them to.
