I moved my husband into the Brookdale in July. We can’t say enough good about it. The care is wonderful. The people that work there, are amazing. They treat the patients as family. They are very kind and respectful to them. They have three balanced meals a day. The foot is really good. They have a great cook. The rooms are like small apartments. Living room, large bedroom. large walk in closet, another regular sized closet and nice size bathroom. They are very comfortable to spend time with your loved one. They have different projects going to keep them active . They take them on bus trips to different places. Zoo, museums, or out to lunch. It’s really amazing how many wonderful things they do to keep them motivated. They have a full time nurse there that takes care of all the meds and works hand in hand with their doctors. I found this place through my daughter in law. Her father lived there for Five years and was so happy. We love it so much. And would totally recommend it.

I absolutely loved the facility. It had everything mom needed. The staff was very helpful and accommodating upon mother's move in and move out. The meals were well made and I especially enjoyed the dinning area. Mother had plenty of activities to keep her busy. For the most part my mother was very healthy and very active but she did have Dementia. The staff did their very best to accommodate mother once we found out that she needed constant care in a Memory Loss facility.

I am very impressed with Brookdale Lake Brazos and their services. Also, I am very pleased with the facility and the staff. They are all compassionate and caring from the administrators, to the nurse, to everyone working in the dining room. One of the things that my mother and I noticed on our initial visit was that the residents were so happy and friendly. They loved being there as does my mother now.

We toured with Brookdale Lake Brazos and they were phenomenal - - both the people and the facility. It was actually our top choice over [facility name removed], but my dad chose [facility name removed] because of the location.
Our family had an in person tour and we thought it was a great experience, the staff members were wonderful, they were so helpful and very nice. The only reason we did not pick it was because our loved one just needed a little more care then what they could provide .
We picked this community because, the director, [name removed], is outstanding. We liked the size of the facility, the food varieties, and the activities. All things that were important for my loved one.

The staff members executive director and marketing team have all done such an excellent job and have continued to do so. Our loved one does not always participate in the activities but we do know they have plenty to offer for the residents. Based on the experience we have had so far with Brookdale Lake we would recommend the community to other families.

We had a great tour experience with Brookdale Lake Brazos but the facility was just a little older looking than we would have liked.
The community is understaffed currently. The major responsibilities rely on two staff members, it seems they need more upper level management. The activities in the memory care seem to be more about sitting in a room with a tv. Since my loved ones have been here they haven't had a memory care director.

We really like the community, but it was too close to the river for my loved one.
This is a great community and we had an overall good experience here. It's neat and clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this community to others based on my experience.

The staff is very respectful, nice, and caring to the residents. The food is pretty good for our loved one. The staff does well with the diet for the residents. I would like to see more interaction between the residents.

I would recommend this community. The staff encouraged my loved one to do things at the activities. There were times that I couldn't reach the staff. I was out of state and sometimes I wouldn't get a call back during this time frame. I would generally hear from.

We chose Brookdale Lake Brazos because the fact that he was able to stay where he is and continue his care with his dementia instead of having to move him again. The rooms are a little on the smaller side, but not bad. The location of the facility is great and the staff members here have been very friendly. My dad also loves their food. Overall I would recommend them to others looking.

The staff have been great to work with. There has been some confusion with the community and our family on a few instances. If this community is in your area you're looking for, it is a great community and the residents like it here.

I think their assisted living is fabulous. Their memory care, I wasn't as happy with. In regards with memory care, I think the staff could use additional training. The rooms are nice, roomy, and updated for the residents.

Some people give you help here some don’t. Some people are rude. For the few that are nice it is ok. The rooms are nice. The activity director is nice. You do lots of activities. The food is usually pretty good. The kitchen people are nice. They have a beautiful river view with shade to sit under. They show favoritism here. Not all rules apply to everyone. If they did it would be a lot better place. Everything is not equal. If you want a nice place to live I would try it

Response from Brookdale Lake Brazos
July 1, 2019Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. We would welcome an opportunity to discuss with you further and encourage you to reach out to our local management team.
Arrived a bit early. Waited for 20 min. for someone to come, but no one did and the office staff just sat in their office and did not provide help. We decided that this was indicative of the care she would receive. Also, it smelled of urine.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
