Our overall experience with Brookdale Garden Grove has been excellent. The staff are attentive and caring. Good food, staff and residents are friendly. Only downside might be lack of a van driver or events coordinator. I’d love to see more coordinated access to resources for residents such as dog grooming, mani/pedi, trips out and about whether shopping or entertainment. There are a few resident driven events. I would recommend this community to my friends. They went above and beyond to help me get my mother in law into the community. We picked this community because it was within our price range and close to our home.

It had memory care and independent living so my parents could be together. Also it was near stores which my independent parent really liked. There are other facilities that charge the same but offer better care , more professional and more competent. I would not recommend, for memory care but I would still recommend for independent living.

Overall, I'm thankful to have found this facility with your help. My family member is very happy there and thrilled that she could afford her own room with a kitty! She has made new friends there, something my loved one hasn't done in years. We just hope they get a new bus driver and I wish they had access to a pool. The facility does offer several movie nights, religious gatherings, and recreational classes which my loved one takes full advantage of. Regarding the food- it is plentiful and residents love it!

It is amazing! The residents are all so friendly and happy. Which makes such a difference when you have a family member coming into a new community. The staff all loved their job and are so welcoming and really listen to you when you ask for anything or need help with anything. Some of the other places we visited I could see that it would take so long for my mother to make friends there, but the minute we walked in to Brookdale I could see that she would be welcomed and she was several people reached out and invited her to join them for lunch the first day.

Our family had an in person tour and we would give Brookdale Gardens 5 stars. It was airy and pleasant as you walked in. Easily accessible for pick ups and drop offs. The staff appeared to be really friendly.
Brookdale wasn't a good option for independent living.

This has been a positive experience with Brookdale Garden Grove for us. They seem to have staff that care for the residents, and provide good services to them as well. The staff communication with the family is good. There are three meals a day served to the residents, and they have choices to choose from. The community has bus trips, church services, exercise programs, crafts, and more for the residents to choose from for activities.

So far so good, my loved one has been here for 3 months. We visit all the time and he says that he is very happy with how everything is going.

We toured Brookdale Garden Grove and it was nice, but we felt that [community name removed] was brighter more light and windows and looked happier.
The activities director has been sick quite a bit so there have not been many activities going on. The food needs a lot of help -. The directors door was never open but he was replaced. The rest of the every day staff though is excellent and very helpful. For the first 6 months my loved one got $1000 off so that was great. The value is excellent and I think they do an awesome job. If we had to do it all over again, we would still choose Brookdale Garden Grove.

One of the main perks is my mom has a colostomy bag and they stepped up and prepared for it and are doing fine now. They handled the unexpected very well. They have great staff that work here but I don't think there are enough of them. I know that they are working on it though. I would definitely recommend Brookdale Garden Grove to other families looking.

I really liked this community and this community was very clean. The staff and the residents very friendly.
We do like the staff they are very kind to the residents, and we would recommend this community to other families.
Our family had a really nice in person tour, and just by driving on the streets looking at this community it looks like an upscale apartment complex.
We chose Brookdale Garden Grove because it was the cleanest and they had the best price. The food was great when we started, but it has started going downhill some. They have salad or fish everyday at lunch so I think they could provide more of a variety. Overall I am very pleased with our experience and I think it is a good facility. I would recommend to others looking.

I liked this community and they were great there was just another that my loved one liked more. The tour guide was lovely and was good.
This was too expensive for us.
