Brookdale Brookhurst

My mom does make comments once in a while about the choices or the monte Cristo was not what it is in a restaurant. We would absolutely recommend this community to other families...my sister and I are very happy with the staff and Cleanliness of Brookdale. It has been a great place so far

It's a very large facility and care givers are at times slow to arrive at a requested call. I would carefully recommend Brookdale Brookhurst to other families. I feel welcome but the size of Brookdale does take away some of the attention one would like.

I would give all of them a 5 . I loved people, facility and activities were many to choose from. I also liked the Scan Embrace program were doctors and nurses came to the facility. It reminds me of a cruise ship that doesn't leave the dock . Although once a month they have an outing . Members vote on where they want to go ; casino , movies , picnic with pizza? There is art , exercise, church services, hairdresser. Also they have entertainment come in on Thursdays and that has happy hours with appetizers some of the times . Everyone is friendly from the receptionist to the manager [name removed]. [name removed] who does activities became a good friend to my mom. The nurse gets to know the patient and sees them most weeks. Funny thing is people I know who rent think what you get is a better value than they have because they cook for you ( food is good) clean your place and do your laundry . Ps top floor is for mobile people and a lot of them drive .

Good caring people. Treats the patient not the disease Meals more attention to printed menus and better service by servers not forgetting portions of order. Facilities could use a good scrubbing on patios/balconies. Some service areas could use some maintenance. Institute recycling.

My parents are exceptionally happy where they are at. The care givers and other staff go above and beyond to give good care and everyone is kind. Based on the experience we have had so far we have already recommended Brookdale Brookhurst to others and will continue to do so!

My mom was briefly a resident at Brookdale Brookhurst and everything was mostly great for her during her stay. The cleanliness was okay. The friendliness, staff and care services were great. The meals and activities were also great. Based on the experience, I would recommend Brookdale Brookhurst to others.

Everyone I dealt with made a difficult situation where I needed to make decisions very quickly a comfortable, caring and helpful process.

The staff there are very friendly. They get to know the residents and remember their names and likes. No place is perfect but overall it's a good place and Mom feels secure.We chose it due to it being a little smaller than other places we looked at. It's also a good value for the size of the apartments. We also chose it as it is close to Mom's doctors and family.

Chef [name removed] had an excellent Christmas dinner. Always very nice and makes a great meal.

My time here has been very nice .... I am comfortable in my studio and enjoying the people ... other residents, employees, & workers. The dining is always pleasant and the activities fun to be part of.

I am amazed at the friendliness, caring, welcome of every staff member and also so professional! They know their business. The staff and residents are my "family" along with my own wonderful family. This was "my choice." Thank you!

We moved my Mom from Brookdale on [date removed] and she was only there since [date removed]. She gained 40 pounds and even though we gave them a doctor's note and she was pre-diabetic and started at 240 when she got there, they continued to over feed her and give her whatever she wanted. Since we moved her all the sweeping in her legs is gone, she is slowly losing weight and not gaining, and she isn't have bowel incontinence issues because her diet is under control and healthy. Overall we were very unhappy with Brookdale Brookhurst.

We liked the set up of a living area and a bedroom with a door. Felt more like a home. The grounds were pretty and every hallway and dining room was clean. All chair rails and baseboards were clean. Liked the liw threshold in the shower entrance

My first experience living in a facility. There is a variety of activities, they keep the mind busy and provide a good experience. Healthy good food, creative thinking and music all help the mind. And physical activities are always good.

Everyone that works at Brookdale Brookhurst is kind and helpful. It has been a great transition experience for my parents. They tell me every time I talk to them how great the food is. Thankful for this place for my parents to spend their last years. We have already recommend this community to other families based on our experience and we will continue to do so.

Our loved one was only there for a few months and it was during COVID so it is hard to really say what we liked most about the community - he did not go into the dining room or do any of the activities. However the staff members were great and the apartment was really nice!
