My mother [name removed] is a resident at Brookdale senior living in Anaheim. My mom loves a care for all the friends she’s met and enjoys all the wonderful games and parties. I’m thankful to see her happy and healthy.

Brookdale Anaheim was a great place. The staff was excellent [Names Removed] whom I had the most contact with including all the receptionists. I can't remember all their names.I was very satisfied with this facility and couldn't have found it without working with [name removed] from a Place for Mom.

Staff are all very pleasant and want to do the best for their residents. They were extremely accommodating when we had requests: replace flooring in apt, repairs needed, allowed a challenging pet who means the world to my family member. They worked to find the best bathing assistant, given frequent refusals if the staff member did not have the right approach.

The value compares to other properties for long term/retirement care I have no insight. The guests there were all in good spirits and hence seem to enjoy it there. I needed temporary housing while my broken ankle healed. It definitely was the best price in the area for the services desired and offered. Private room and bath, 3 meals a day, weekly housecleaning, weekly laundry, complimentary transportation to doctor appointments. It was a very clean facility, great staff, and food.

Get a very clear picture of the monthly costs. I had to make a very fast decision. My loved one decided to not live alone very suddenly and I'm still working. That facility called back first.

The apartments were small. This would be a good community for a loved one that needs assisted living. The interior was beautiful; however, the outdoors didn't have a place to walk as it is on a busy street.
Brookdale Anaheim had dried feces all over the guest bathroom, also didn't look kept up, and had an odor throughout.

Our family had an in person tour tour and they did not seem prepared to give us a tour and they just kind of winged it and we were just not impressed by the facility, but it was the cheapest community we had toured.

This facility is clean. The Memory Care director is great. If I could give her 10 stars, I would. Laundry and housekeeping is twice a week. They have activities all the time and exercise, too.

I toured this community and it was really good. Definitely in our top 3. It's clean, staff is friendly, great atmosphere.
The community provided compassionate care with medications and patience when she called them often when she wasn't feeling well. Housekeeping did a great job keeping her room clean and picked up. Laundry services excellent. Receptionists were always very friendly. Sales department very nice and extremely flexible with move in and move out dates.

We toured Brookdale Anaheim and it was nice, but we felt that [community name removed] was brighter more light and windows and looked happier.
We toured Brookdale Anaheim and thought it was very outdated. It wasn't as clean as the community we chose and had a lack of activities. The residents there, in my opinion, were older and needed a more advanced level of care than my mom. The community that we chose has residents that are still pretty active. They're well-dressed, they take pride in presenting themselves, and they enjoy living there - that is why we chose another community over Brookdale.

This community is nice but I felt like it was a little dark for my loved one. It was a nice community but it was just not right for my loved one. The people there were very nice and explained everything to me.
I would recommend it. The only thing I wish it had was a waiver for those on social security. They don't participate. Housekeeping comes once a week alongside laundry services. The food is very good. They provide transportation to doctor appointments. This place has 3 floors. They allow pets.

There are some good things and some bad things. Some things have bothered me, but for the most part, I think this is the safest place for my loved one at the moment. He would disagree, but he's going through some major changes in life. One thing that he's not understanding is why the floor is basically unpadded carpet on concrete, so every time he falls he bounces hard. One of the things that bothers me is in the bathroom, the only support rods are the big, chubby, smooth ones at an angle. So if your hand is the least bit damp, you slide. I think that's a government planning department problem, but it doesn't make sense to me that any healthcare location would go along with that. And that bothers me. Also one thing I find odd is in the diagram of the building, there's a large patio area in the center. And access to that to get to the other side of the patio has you going around green space when it could be a straight shot (concerning because it's an emergency exit, and also a problem when raining, etc.). And if you decide to cut across, you end up going past puppy waste on the lawn where people are not picking up after their pets. But my loved one's apartment is set up pretty well. We had to provide a lot of the furniture, but they also had a few things in their store room that they have shared with us. Their reception area and the staff that greet you there have been phenomenal. Even when I telephone in, I'm getting the same people. And they do their job well. I like all the staff I've met - they're all very friendly.

A Place for Mom has scored Brookdale Anaheim 9 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
