Upper management and the head nurse should have daily huddles with their employees and get feedback from the employees in regards to the elderly residence. I wasn't there on a daily basis, but from what I did see and experience, I think upper management and the head nurse could communicate with the care workers and the nurses that reported to them and get feedback on the residence and what's going on, etc. like I said, you have to inspect what you expect from your employees and if you don't do that, you're not holding anybody accountable and when I say that it's a trickle down effect from upper management to each employee. The heating and the air conditioning in the summertime in my mother and mother-in-law's room of which they shared was freezing in the winter and I had brought that to management attention at least a dozen times or more and I got lots of excuses and then in the summer, it was very hot. I got all kinds of excuses that it was an old air-conditioning system, it just made me wonder if I was the only one complaining about everything in regards to the heat and air. But I was informed that there were others complaining as well. The bath system that we were informed worked the walk-in tub, did not work never work the whole time they were there. I could go on and on. There were lots of employees that were sweet and attentive with both of our mothers and then there were others who were just there to get a paycheck and did as little interacting with the elderly as they had to. I know there is no perfect place to put a parent and I know that not all employees are caring and loving as family, but one would hope they are

Great communication Clean community

On multiple occasions they were told my father couldn't chew food because he had no teeth. He lost his dentures. And they continued give him food that he could not eat. Even once causing him to require the Heimlich maneuver once at dinner from a large piece of broccoli. They had him on so many medications he was practically comatose. He was on the list for a provider in psychology and were told we did not want that person seeing him and they still treated him and prescribed him with a patch medication with a black box warnings that they ignored and still gave to him even though he had dementia. Because of this I feel they were in direct cause of his condition rapidly worsening leading to his death only a week after being sent to the hospital.

The staff go all out at the family dinners. Every dinner has a theme which makes for a fun evening. The food is very good and everyone has a good time.

The warm and inviting atmosphere, along with the amazing loving, and friendly staff is refreshing. The care is top-notch! I would have recommended Brookdale to others!

We did not have a good experience at Brookdale Crown Point. Some of the caregivers were lovely -But in the end, they did not follow hospice orders and my Dad was taken to the ER twice. He was also accused of sexually assaulting a patient which later panned out to be false. We had to pay extra to have 24 coverage for him. We were never reimbursed. The day of his death the purser was harassing us for payment.

Secure environment for the confused, lots of activities and attentive staff. Everyone friendly and helpful. Always lots going on to keep them occupied.

We have been very satisfied with the Brookdale Crown Point facility. Our loved ones friends call tell that she is happy with the move as well. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would absolutely recommend this community to other families.

Everyone has been so friendly and helpful during the transition of my dad into the community. We absolutely made the best decision to bring my dad to this family.

From the tour to our first few weeks of my grandmother being a resident has been the best it could be during the difficult change. The staff has been great & attentive. We look forward for the future with Brookdale Crown Point.

My mother was previously a resident at Brookdale Crown Point and overall her experience at this facility was okay. The staff were friendly with a range of age, experience, professionalism, and personalities. The housekeeping seemed a bit slow/understaffed. Communication with the family was fine, but we had several problems getting conflicting information from staff members about the same subjects. The move in process was fine. The meals appeared to be okay, though there was lots of chicken. We were there during administration turnover, so hopefully staffing will improve. As for recommending Brookdale Crown Point to others, we had some problems that were cause for concern but they likely could happen anywhere so yes, if price is a factor I would recommend them.

Brookdale has been nothing short of amazing for my Nana, whom has Parkinson’s dementia. As many know, there will be good days and bad days with dementia. Brookdale gives her the grace and dignity to age with compassion. Staffing is kind and Beverly, the events director, does a fantastic job organizing social occasions for family to be involved. Family dinner nights are a huge hit! And most importantly, I know my nana is safe with round the clock care. It was tough making that decision to find placement for her but I have no regrets with Brookdale. As a nurse and as a family member, I highly recommend this memory care living facility.

A nice place to visit, great and caring staff. Always very attentive to residents.. always having fun with activities. Nice clean environment. Very secure and well maintained.

My mother is a resident here and we've had nothing but wonderful experience. The staff is welcoming, open and help take care of my mother with the utmost care. The facility is beautiful with an open floor format that provides my mother with so many activities. She loves it and so do we.

Everyone is always nice and very helpful and they take great care of my mom. The place is always clean and my moms room is always neat and clean. They have a family dinner about once a month and it’s a great time with the staff and my mom.
