Brookdale Briargate

The facility has a home-like feeling. There is a central courtyard that is easy to access and allows for safe outdoor time. The staff are friendly and attentive. I can't specifically speak to move in or housekeeping. But I can reliably say there is a handyman gentleman who is very helpful and responsive. My father in law liked him a great deal. He helped with the move in process and the set up of television and cable. He was regularly available to troubleshoot or assist with a multitude of things.

Mom and Dad get much love and attention from the staff. They are well cared for. The staff is attentive and friendly and they communicate well with the family.

We landed at Briargate after having had a terrible experience at another facility. The staff here at Briargate is top notch. They pay attention to the residents and engage with them in a caring and friendly way while also assessing the daily demeanor of the resident. If my brother feels a little off to them, they let me know. My brother had a medical emergency and the staff immediately called an ambulance, called me to let me know what ER to go to and followed up all week while he was in the hospital. I have complete confidence that the staff treats a high quality of life as a priority for all residents.

The staff at Brookdale Briargate are exceptionally friendly and attentive... A warm, homelike environment, and nice culture of residents. Overall peaceful vibe.

This facility is literally our knight in shining armor. They treat the residents like there is life left for them to live and it shows. That has been so joyous for me to see. I'm there quite a bit and have never witnessed the staff angry or upset with the residents at any time. The staff is wonderful and always present. They are great about checking on the residents on a very regular basis. They keep the residents out of their rooms and interactive as much as possible. Although, I would like to see more variety of activities. Especially for memory care residents. But I do understand how that could be challenging. We came from a facility that we had a terrifying experience with and I couldn't be happier to have mom here. The transition was so easy. I finally feel like mom is safe. And she feels safe. It's a family atmosphere here. Most of the staff and residents are on a first name basis. They have paintings that the residents have painted hanging on the walls. So many small touches that make it feel like home. The food is good and the basics (beverages, condiments, etc) are always readily available, which I really like. They have assigned seating in the dining room and they rotate it often. I think this is wonderful, it's a creative way to help memory care patients interact with each other and it works well! No complaints from mom on the food, which says a lot! Yes, it's an older facility, but don't be fooled. They've got the experience, the staff, and they truly have it figured out. I highly recommend them to everyone I know!

While searching for a place for our loved one, we were able to experience Brookdale at Briargate. The moment we walked in we felt an atmosphere of kindness and caring. It even grew as we talked to staff and observed the residents . It is full of charm and a true feeling of a home. We have decided to have our loved one be part of this community. We look forward to getting to know the staff more, they are people that make you say “ wow, I want to know them”

Overall its been a good experience. They're a little slow on the maintenance part of it. There are a few minor things in my loved one's room that haven't gotten the attention that they need. But overall, I would mostly recommend them. Although I'm not sure if I would do it over again. Communication can be somewhat lax. They want you to call a day ahead of time to let them know you're coming to visit, and often that doesn't get communicated to the other staff. So they're surprised when you show up. But the day to day staff seem knowledgeable. Some of the personnel is just outstanding. I can't say enough good things about the activities director. My loved one seems to enjoy the food. And I've really seen a dramatic improvement in her physical wellbeing after the first couple of months. That's gone backward a little bit since then, at no fault of Brookdale Briargate.

Everything has been going good there, they have exercise classes everyday as well as bingo. We think the value is good, you do get what you pay for. We would recommend the Brookdale Briargate to others.

I would recommend the community to others. They were very friendly and attentive to our needs. The room for my loved one worked perfectly for us. They kept it very clean. The communication with the staff was good.

The facility itself was clean and well maintained. The residents all were have, involved with the various activities that were being provided during the time (about 2 hrs) that we were there. We didn't stay for a meal but were invited and the staff that we met, including the medical personnel appeared competent and concerned with the residents. They spoke to most of those we saw, calling them by their names. The pricing seems to be the best fit from those that we visited today and obtained information from last Friday. The facility is always kept locked and residents have to sign out and be escorted through the secured doors when leaving, if the resident is authorized to leave the facility. All of the suites are on a single floor and there are two studio suites currently available. We were told that mom would be able to keep her current medical team and that I could continue to manage her medications. They would provide transportation to her medical appoints if we desired to use it. The facility is located on the northeast side of Colorado Springs and about a 7 to 10 minute drive away. So very convenient for all the members of our family for visiting. are on a single level.

I can't say enough on how thankful I am for each and every one of the staff members at Brookdale Briargate. I moved my uncle out to Colorado Springs from another state to be close to me. He had broken his hip the first week in January and was on a long road to recovery. Finding a safe and caring place was very stressful. From the very first phone call, meetings and every visit, I was always treated like family. The director, management and nursing staff are extremely involved which made communication so simple. My uncle was a great guy but he was stubborn and could be difficult to please. He told me that being here and at Brookdale Briargate was the happiest he had been in a long time. That was a huge compliment! The management, nurse and all of the staff were SO patient with him, listened to him, cared for him and always had a positive attitude. My uncle passed away on [date removed] due to a long history and complications with COPD. He will be greatly missed but I find such peace that he ended his time on earth in a place he enjoyed and called home.

Very nice and clean. Everyone seemed very friendly. Residents looked happy. Still checking other facilities before making our final choice which a lot will depend on price.

A warm, welcoming environment where the residents seem happy and engaged. The staff is accommodating and encourage resident independence and activity. The menu and amenities suited my mother's needs. Rooms are on the small side and lighting might be an issue, but we are still considering the community.

I toured Brookdale, and did not like it. It reminded me of a college dorm. Rooms were small and furniture was minimal. There was also a lot of walking outside to get to the dining area, and I didn’t like the thought of my parents being too exposed to the elements. The facility is also older and seemed less clean than other communities I had visited.

Moved my mom in last year. It has been great, everyone is so friendly to my mother and they really care for her. The food is good The location is really great. Really quiet neighborhood in briargate. Really would recommend

I had helpful and friendly people giving me a tour and giving me useful resources. I felt they were fantastic people to work with. They were willing and always offering to help me find a good fit for my parents. It did not feel like a sales experience. In the end they did not have an availability for us.

I have no complaints about the tour I had taken of this community. Everything went really well and the staff where very friendly during our visit. They made sure to give us lots of information in detail and take there time with our visit. It just ended up not being the right fit for my father.

When I toured the Brookdale Brairgate, I thought it was a very nice facility. The place was clean and the tour guide was very friendly, she was able to answer any questions that I had.

I am happy with the care that my father is getting here from the friendly staff. The community is clean and well taken care of. He seems happy with the variety. They do offer him activities and might be involved more at a later time. We liked that this community was close for us to visit and the size of the community is what we were looking for. We do recommend this community for great care and value.
