Not happy at all. Said they could take her and handle her and then kicked her out. Beautiful clean places and great people. The meals seemed real nice but it was way to expensive. We gave the overall experience a 1 for what happened.

I was looking for my mom, she could take her of herself anymore saw lots of options and Melody Living had everything I was looking for. My mother is in her happy place, I'm happier knowing she has 24 hours caregivers in the building in case she need anything, they help her with medication. Love reading her newspaper and getting coffee all day from the bistro area.

Response from Melody Living of Colorado Springs
December 19, 2023Thank you, Tim!
Staff is generally very attentive however there have been several occasions when their attention was less than ideal. This could be due to being short staffed as so many businesses are today. I feel they should anticipate those scenarios and adjust their staff accordingly. Their meals are excellent and their staff is always friendly and eager to please. They have always been willing to listen to any concerns we may have and have consistently taken steps to work with us to rectify the issue.

Response from Melody Living of Colorado Springs
December 19, 2023Thank you! We sincerely appreciate your feedback.
We haven't compared cost at other places in the area since she has been living there, so not sure how to answer fully. However, our mom says she's happy there and likes the food. I would like for them to clean her room better, but overall, it's clean and in a nice location.

My loved one has been a resident for two plus years. We have finally had enough and have freed them. 5 directors, 3 wellness directors 1 1/2 activities directors…..primarily abandoned position. … if your loved one likes videos this is your home!!! Always PROMISED it will get better all we got was rate increase. New director on the job since April 22. She has overseen 2 “restrictions periods “. Where residents are required to eat in their rooms and activities cancelled. Don’t miss that lockdown twice since April 22!!!! Meals were up to two hours late.. on a happy note they were given a coloring book….REALLY? Confined to your room for 5 days and you get a coloring book? Check the citations for this place. Please do your homework. Not enough space for the failed promises. But director will be happy to provide a multitude of excuses!! The food was pretty good.

Unfortunately, inconsistency of care. The facility is very nice and the staff are friendly, but communication has been a problem. There has been a huge turnover of staff in the year my mom has been there. 3 Directors, 2 Wellness Nurses, Maintenance director left, inconsistent care partners. Many times they use nurses or staff from an agency that do not know the resident at all. The Care Plan has not been followed consistently and has needed many changes. [name removed], at the front desk is fantastic and always helpful. She has been there since the beginning.

I visited this location this past friday. I had a tour schedule and I waited 20 mins for the girl to give me a tour. She didn’t apologize or nothing. She was very pushy and not knowledgeable. The facility was dirty crumbles on the carpet and dust everywhere. My experience overall was disappointing. For the amount of money they charge I expect cleanliness and good customer service.

One of the main reasons we chose Melody Living was the continuity of care in that even though it is called an assisted living home, it was explained that even if the residents are bed bound they are able to stay there. The only time they have to be moved to a higher level is if they need daily ivs, tube feeding , and things like that. Even end of life and hospice can be handled here. The other thing we really like is that when you walk in you get a very good feeling. It is beautiful, it is friendly, and the staff seem happy to be there and greet all of the residents by name when passing them. During our tour they offered us lunch and the chef actually came out to talk to us for about 30 minutes and he was great. As far as the food they have twice a month food forums where the residents tell the chef what they want and he puts it on the menu. There have been times where if the residents have a special recipe, he will actually make that recipe. My mom has had absolutely no complaints about the food at all and said it has all been wonderful. It has all around been a great experience.

We chose Melody Living because she really liked birds and there seemed to be a lot of birds here that she could watch. The room size did seem to be on the smaller side, it was a 2 unit room and it had a huge kitchen and huge bathroom, it was just the room size itself that was small. The staff members were accommodating with letting me come in to see my mom during covid. I would recommend them to others looking.

A Place for Mom has scored Melody Living of Colorado Springs 9.2 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score.
