There has been countless turnovers with the staff on every level of management and care which says there is a much bigger problem at the top.

We removed my Mom from there in June. They were losing staff and residents like crazy. She is at [community name removed] now. Despite their website Briarview does not customize food for elderly folks. It's a waste of money.

They have treated my parents very well. Super friendly and caring staff. The fact that it is 1 story and apt layout is great. Spacious bedrooms and living area.

What they show on the website for their meals are nothing like what they serve. It is all precooked off-site, delivered, and heated somewhat. They pair pasta with potatoes and very few vegetable choices. When you are making food for the elderly you don't serve stuff with lots of salt and deep fat fried. That is our only complaint.

January 10, 2024Hello! Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. As we operate by a Resident-First philosophy, input like yours helps us to improve. At our community, we take resident care and experience very seriously. We always welcome feedback so we can learn and grow. In order to understand more about your review of Briarview Senior Living we invite you to connect one-on-one with our Regional Director of Operations, Stacy Campbell at 817.446.4792. We look forward to speaking with you!
Even though they are short-staffed, the workers here are very friendly and based on our experience so far we would recommend Brairview Senior Living to other families. Our loved one is really enjoying all of the activities they have going on throughout the week, there is bingo, dominoes, Mexican train, day trips, musical entertainment, exercise classes and family nights. We really like how encouraging the community is towards families and always wanting them to come to visit, have meals, and join in the activities.

The nursing staff is exceptional! The food is not so great. Activities may be listed but don't happen frequently. Not sure whose fault that is-residents not engaging or lack of employees to lead activities. I'm satisfied for the most part and feel my Mom is taken care of.

We are completely satisfied with our experience at Briarview. Senior Living I find the staff to be very kind and helpful. The facility itself is very very clean and the food is great. These are the top things that stick out about the facility to us. I would absolutely recommend them to others.

Briarview Senior Living is really good, really friendly, and safe community. I would say pay attention to details because there are so many that it gets confusing, but that's not just Briarview. The details of how they track what services you're getting are integrated into a point system, which is based on level of care. The system makes sense, but it's very detailed, so you will need to keep track of it. These services range from housekeeping to medication management. You'll need to know what the different services provided are, and how to track them. We haven't had issues with their system, but again, it can be a lot - so you'll need to pay attention to those things. Some of their activities include happy hour twice a week, singers & other entertainers who'll come in, games, crafts, and outings. Briarview is a great community with lots of options. A Place for Mom: My advisor, [name removed], was great. She really made it a point to touch base and ask questions to find options that fit. She also helped us to understand the process. I want to thank her, as you only do this once, and she was very helpful.

Response from Briarview Senior Living
July 19, 2022Thank you for your review! We seek to serve our residents and provide them with the highest standard of living, so we are incredibly grateful to hear your kind words.
We are super pleased that our loved one is here. The staff are responsive to phone calls, and messages. They have really helped the family and the transition of our loved one being in the community, plus assisting us in learning how to redirect our loved one in conversations. Once a month they have a dementia workshop for families of the residents in memory care that can go for support and education.

This community is phenomenal, its luxurious and the staff is very friendly. The food has suffered a little due to COVID because of the restrictions, but before COVID it was very nice. Our biggest thing is that this community has gone above and beyond to keep our loved one safe, and still keep her active. There is more appreciation there than we can express.

They have lousy food , the quantity was limited amount, and the food didn't taste good The dining service are very slow and you may wait 45 to over and hour to get your food. The rest the staff, not including the dining area, were pretty good. There were literally no activities. They had very little offered. The housekeeping was good.

Briarview Assisted Living provides my mother with excellent care! Everyone, including the Executive Director, the nursing staff, the dining room servers, the concierge, and housekeepers, know Mom by name and greet her warmly each time they see her. They are all sensitive to her advancing dementia and never falter in the face of her changing moods and needs for care. Her children moved her to assisted living against her will, but she quickly accepted and began to love her life in Briarview. Besides the outstanding staff, Briarview can boast of a beautiful and comfortable environment for its residents. The Activity Director arranges group activities, entertainment, and excursions, or residents may enjoy solitude and relaxation.

Love it. Clean and the atmosphere was that of a 5 star hotel with a home feel. The tour was awesome and answered all my questions. Only concern I have is can my father afford this one long term.

Briarview Memory Care is wonderful!! My mother lives here and is very content. The Memory Care Director, the Activity Director, the Medical Technicians, the Certified Nurse Assistants, and the housekeeping staff are like family to us. They not only provide excellent care to the residents but they provide a loving, personal environment for the residents and their families. The facility is very secure to provide a safe environment but it also has a beautiful courtyard and screened in sun room which allows the residents to take walks on the paved walkway, plant flowers, fly kites, and enjoy the sunshine. The staff also encourages residents to participate in games, exercises, and simple tasks to stimulate their minds and to be successful at familiar tasks. There is a kitchen for the residents to help make cookies, brownies, and other treats. There are evening activities such as Family Night so that residents can enjoy a special evening with their family members. This facility is about 1 year old and is beautiful. The rooms are comfortable and feel like home. There is a beauty shop for hair care, manicures, and pedicures. I am so thankful that we selected Briarview for my mother and am so grateful for the entire Briarview staff!

A Place for Mom has scored Briarview Senior Living 8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
