Bethesda Gardens Monument - A Good Place to Live

Mom really likes it there. A good thing about it that others might like as well is it's small. There are no elevators and no stairs. It's built in a square, so if she leaves her room and keeps going, eventually she'll end up back at her room, which is perfect for her because she likes to walk around but does get lost. So it's perfect for someone like that. All of the caretakers are very good to her. It's one of the more reasonably priced places we looked into. The food could be improved a little. But I like that the residents get a choice if they don't like what's on the main menu - they can always ask for something else, and the staff do a good job of accommodating requests. The dining staff themselves do a good job, it's just that the food could be better. But overall, I think we made a very good choice.... Read more

This place seems pretty amazing with only 11 maximum number of residents. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff who genuinely cares for the residents. It is not the right fit for my sister because she walks all the time and there just isn't enough space for walking. Otherwise this would probably be in the running. Well worth the time to take the tour.

I am POA for my aunt. She had no children of her own. As she became older and not able to take care of herself, it was my responsibility to find a good care facility. This place is top-notch. It is very clean, friendly and caring staff. We toured several facilities and we both agree that we found the best.

My husband has lived at Bethesda Gardens for 8 months. I am very happy with the care provided. [Name removed] and the staff have done everything possible to make this transition easy for him and our family. They respond promptly to any questions or concerns we have and my husband enjoys the food! Being a faith-based community has also been very important to us. Thank you Bethesda Gardens.

This community and caregivers are wonderful. They are following all state guidelines for keeping the resident safe. However, because of the state government's draconian guidelines, residents are still having to eat in rooms, can't get haircuts or have foot care. There have been no positive Covid tests in community.

The community has taken every precaution they can to keep the residents safe during this Covid virus. Although family members have not been able to visit inside the building, I look forward to joining in any activities prior to Covid- from [date removed] to now doors locked.

Very Happy

My mom has been living in Bethesda for a little over a year now, and we could not be happier. The move as a whole was traumatic but she very quickly started referring to the facility as "home", which was a huge relief to me with the guilt that had come along with moving her into senior housing. The staff is beyond accommodating, it is always very clean, and my mom has a wonderful group of friends. One of my favorites (as well as mom's) is that it is all on one level. I have recommended Bethesda to many people.

A pleasure to visit

Our good friend has the pleasure of living at Bethesda Gardens Monument. Her senior advisor at a place for mom recommended she visit a few retirement homes to see what the best fit would be. I accompanied her and would also recommend you sample the food and ask for a copy of the calendar of events anywhere you go. Also, show up without an appointment, you’ll really get a sense for what the facility is like. When narrowing down your search, make sure Bethesda is one of the places you visit.

This new facility is beautiful, and the rooms are large. My mother felt the community was too big for her because of her low vision, and she did not select it. However, it is a great community and at an affordable price.

A Place for Mom has scored Bethesda Gardens Monument 8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.

Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
