It is expensive but very worth the money because we know she is getting good care over here. She is in the memory care unit and they do a great job with her and keep her active. They do not let her stay in her room and the staff are really good. Their communication is fabulous, my mother in law fell the other week in her bathroom and they called us right away and let us know what happened.Their follow up is also right on que. The meals are served restaurant style, you are able to choose from the menu. Before the pandemic, we would go eat with her and you can order as much as you want which I think is better. I would absolutely recommend them

Very good for memory care/Alzheimer’s. Small rooms. Broad range of memory care and physical care options. No stove seems like a dealbreaker for mom. Seems like mom is not ready for something like this.

Response from Belmont Village San Jose
February 11, 2019Thank you for considering Belmont Village for your mom and for your feedback. Our community is designed to foster a social environment with generous common spaces located throughout the building. Our apartments are equipped with kitchenettes that include refrigerators and microwaves for light snacks and meals. However, most of our residents quickly adapt to not having a range and find that they prefer our flexible restaurant-style dining for breakfast, lunch and dinner at Josephine’s Kitchen, along with snacks and refreshments at non-meal times in our bistro. We do understand the importance of finding the right fit for your mother and wish you the best in your search. If you are interested in visiting our community again in the future or have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact our community team.
[Name removed] will a resident at Belmont this weekend. Tour went very well, will be an adjustment from her current living situation but she has been participating in the decisions involved in this move. Thanks for your help.

My parents have been at Belmont Village for over 6 years and have received outstanding services and support from the staff and care givers. [Name removed] the Director is an outstanding leader and has run the village in an outstanding way. We could not me happier with the love and care our parents have received.

I'm not entirely sure how I would have learned to cope with the failing health of my family member without the help from the excellent staff of Belmont Village in San Jose. Most especially Director [Name removed] and his calm presence and guidance. He is the best! Always makes time for me and my many questions.

Look elsewhere!! The director [name removed] is extraordinarily unprofessional, emotionally unstable and weak. Unfortunately, the misdirection can be felt throughout the the facility especially for the residents. One of many examples: My 77 year old mother has been there for 6 weeks and the air conditioning has been stuck on the heater mode at 80 degrees the whole time despite repeated maintenance service requests and apparent attempts. We met the lady from the room 4 doors down that has the exact same problem. They are supposed to bathe her but they do not. They don’t get her to brush her teeth although she needs assistance. When I visit, I am so saddened, she has dirty clothes and body. I must make sure she bathes and make sure she brushes her teeth when I visit. It is completely inadequate. They have no trained counselors for emotional support, although my mother desperately needs one to help her through this traumatic transition. Instead there are sweet, however, under trained and underpaid “Pals” that check on them. The director, [name removed] intentionally intimidated and harassed my family while we were visiting my mother by getting directly in the middle of a family matter we were trying to handle privately. He overstepped his professional bounds by forbidding my mother and I to talk privately with the charge nurse. I hope his boss sees this as he should be immediately fired! I wish I could give more than one star because there are very kind staff and the food and location are quite good. However, until the directorship is much, much, much better, the whole facility suffers. The price is quite high and would be worth it if not for the extremely poor management, but I would not send a loved one to this particular location unless you find the management has changed. You will certainly find vacancies here, but there are plenty of other places you can chose from. Be forewarned!

September 26, 2018Our team’s goal is always to act in the best interest of our residents to make sure that their needs are met, and we work closely with family members or responsible parties to handle issues that may arise. We will continue to work with your family through this time of transition to address any concerns you may have.
My loved one used to live in Belmonte Village. We thought it was a really nice community, and they seemed to have more than enough staff members, especially in the kitchen. However, we felt my loved one was too far away from family, and we wanted to mover him closer to us.

I an very pleased with the staff here. They do what they can to take great care of my loved one. She also gets many chances to participate in activities, and she's even in an activity group called "Circle of Friends", which helps dementia patients to adjust. We are very satisfied!

This was a big mistake. My mother went to this place in good spirits and health. They sold us on what a great place this is and no additional outside care is needed. My mother lived independently and fell once. Since she is at Belmont, her health has deteriorated for the worse dramatically. On the second day we were asked to add a caregiver for her for 24/7. My mother was more agitated, the food is little to be desired, and the staff even worse. The staff makes me feel that they are incompetent and do not know what they are doing. We saw residents going into other people's rooms while that resident was sleeping and take some of her clothing. We let staff know what happened. My mother falls so much now with it without caregivers. I would not recommend this place at all to anyone. It's been a nightmare. Can't wait to get her out.

We toured this community for my wife's care. We did like the staff who were nice and able to answer the questions on the care that is required. The community is clean and the menu was appealing. We would suggest that other families tour this community for the care of a loved.

They were a good community and in the mater of trying to fit into what was being offered and finding a good fit for brother was a new experience to me. On the tour they were pretty much professional and friendly. I went through the whole community. It was helpful to have a list of communities to visit from A Place For Mom. This was not the right fit.

The experience with Belmont has been good and mom is adjusting. The staff level is adequate. I know she's been having an issue with the quality and temperature of her meals. For example, they served her food cold last night and the snap peas on her plate were raw. Other than the meals, things have been good and I would recommend them.

Belmont Village Community is new to us. Our parents were in desperate need of getting out of their home of over 50 years. The transition from their home was excellent using a referral from Belmont to move them. The move was seamless and we didn't have to do anything. Our dad has dementia/alzheimer's disease so bad he really doesn't understand. Our mom is trying to adjust. She misses her home and probably always will. We know she is in a safe place, eating well and has dad on a lower level floor so she sees him and has meals with him daily. This is very expensive $17K+/- per month. It is worth every penny knowing they are safe and cared for. I am saving for my old days, with hopes that I will be a healthy enough to not need 24 hour care.

They gave me good tour of the community and I thought it looked very nice. I also got a knowledgeable tour guide who provided me with good feedback and was on time for our meeting. After looking around the place, I thought it was too busy. We needed a calmer and peaceful atmosphere.

Response from Belmont Village San Jose
November 29, 2016Thank you for considering Belmont Village. We’re glad you had a positive experience during your visit. We do have an active community and encourage a social environment for our residents. We also respect quiet time and I encourage you to visit communities at various times of the day as you continue your search.
I usually never write reviews, but Belmont Village of San Jose is such a wonderful assisted-living facility that I had to write something, My father-in-law moved in there about 6 weeks ago, and we are very happy with our decision to place him there. He gets wonderful care, and the caregivers treat the residents with such respect and concern for their well-being. Peggy [removed] (Community Relations person at Belmont Village of San Jose) was/is so amazingly caring and helpful, she made what could have been a very stressful experience (moving in, etc.) so much easier/smoother for everyone involved!

Dad has been at Belmont Village for some time now and still trying to adjust although he seems to be doing okay with the place. The staff and the circle of friends he has there really makes things easier and he has gone out on scenic drives with the community and also enjoys movie nights. Dad really likes the food there and says there is definitely plenty for seconds and thirds! The staff are always very responsive and even send the family pictures of Dad to keep us all updated! We are completely happy with Belmont and would recommend.

Really liked this place. This is the Cadillac of facilities. From the kind and patient staff to the proximity to Santana Row you could not ask for more. There Circle of Friends program allows the person to age in place because it has 4 levels. The only drawback for us is the price. However it is an all inclusive program
