A dangerous and unsafe facility. My 96 year old mother was left sitting in a chair overnight. Aides do not carry pagers. Serious safety concerns. Sales pitch made empty promises Run do not walk away

Being an RN we are very familiar with this type of work and they could really just wok to improve on their personal nursing care. They do not engage or interact with the residents, they just come into the rooms drop of the medication and leave, or they drop of the food and leave. They don't wake up our loved one when things get dropped off. They ahve slow response times to when our loved needs assistance or when our family calls - they never return calls.

Response from Baywinde Senior Living
October 24, 2022You’ve entrusted us with the care of your loved one, and we will work hard to maintain your confidence. Please contact us to further discuss.
We really like the hominess of the facility, it does not feel like a nursing home but it really has that family orientated environment and our loved one is very happy there. She absolutely loves the meals and dining service and the activities she likes to participate in she enjoys. However they could work to improve and the nurse responsiveness to families especially when it comes to medication management.

August 23, 2022We always invite the involvement of family and friends. Thanks for taking the time to leave us this review.
The rooms are nice and the meals are very good. The administration listens to issues. The medical services need some improvement. If your loved one needs medical services, it is not always completed as ordered. If they are ill, medical services not available so they will be sent to ER if family doesn't get involved. Maybe this is normal in Assisted Living. Vital signs may not be taken. Staff don't wear name tags so residents don't remember the staff names and there are many different staff. Staff shortages are a reality. I'm only aware of these issues through my Mom who is a resident and my sister who has been dealing with the facility since my Mom's admission. My Mom complains the common areas and dining room is cold and she has told them about this. My Mom does enjoy the activities especially bingo and the weekly rides. We also found out there is a charge for administering medication. We had thought it was included. They have been flexible in adjusting shower day for my Mom. I need to add I have had no contact with administration or staff when I had visits with my Mom. I'm sure my sister may have additional feedback. Most of this stuff is pretty common with assisted living. My biggest concern is my Mom needed a nebulizer treatment for a cold and it was not carried out as ordered by the doctor. I'm sure it is difficult to find and keep good staff.

August 23, 2022Our team is focused on providing a great quality of life for your loved one. Always feel free to visit and share your experiences with us.
We chose Baywinde because it is very convenient for me and also I really liked the facility - I thought it was very nice. It is organized pretty well and the staff are all super friendly and easy to get along with. They always answer any questions when I have had them. I would definitely recommend the facility to other families.

August 11, 2022Your kind words go a long way to brighten our day. We’ll be sure to share your review with our team members. Thanks so much.
Overall it has been a good experience, although things often get misplaced. The common areas are always very clean, but cleaning of his room is mediocre, and the bedding is often dirty. He's on a gluten free diet, which they take very seriously. If they're not sure if he can have something they call me to ask. But the options are not very exciting for him. They have activities and are good about prompting him to participate. I see a lot of staff there. Some days everything is pretty much taken care of, and other days I end up having to do a lot for him.

August 5, 2022Our team always strives to deliver the very best care. If you feel we have fallen short in this instance, please accept our apologies or contact us to discuss further.
The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Everybody there has been very helpful. It seems like all the residents are very happy. And the apartments are very nice. My only recommendation would be for lower countertops - they're kind of high for someone in a wheelchair.

May 11, 2022Our community is a happy place, and your kind words go a long way to brighten our day. We’ll be sure to share your review with our residents and team members. Thanks so much.
I toured Baywinde Senior Living and had a really great experience and first impression. I ended up choosing a different community because it fit my budget a little better, and they were willing to waive a couple fees.
Response from Baywinde Senior Living
April 19, 2022Thank you for considering our community. Along with personal care, giving our residents an active, uplifting lifestyle is at the heart of what we do. We’re grateful for your review.
Don't believe the hype from the sales person and don't believe the fake 5 star reviews. The care my dad received here was horrible. They left him sitting in his room all day despite all the promises of activities. Most of the staff is uncaring and hostile. My dad lost a lot of weight & we had to go to the facility multiple times each day to suppliment feed and bathe him. He actually started to smell because they hadn't been bathing him. When you would bring up your concerns the staff was hostile. We became so concerned about the level of care we removed my dad from this facility.

Baywinde has been excellent, they've exceeded our expectations! the location is very good and convenient. it's right next to a YMCA, which is really lovely. the only downside is that there is no dishwasher in the apartment, and that's kind of a big deal for our loved one. the kitchen is lacking in that regard, but they do have a restaurant inside of the community. so that may be the reason why the kitchen isn't fully equipped. we would highly recommend this community to others, its been great!

March 25, 2022We greatly appreciate your positive review. The pandemic has highlighted how fortunate we are to have dedicated team members who are committed to ensuring all our residents are well cared for. It’s uplifting to hear about the positive impact we’re having as we continue to persevere through this period. Thank you so much for the five-star review!
The staff members at Baywinde are always very responsive to any questions or concerns we may have. The activities are somewhat limited still but they do have different things posted everyday and hand out flyers to the residents as reminders. Our father says the food is just wonderful. The value for the money is spot on.

March 16, 2022We're thrilled to hear about the positive impact our community is having on your family. The amazing people living and working here truly make it feel like home, one where all our residents can be comfortable, and their families can rely on us to take care of their loved ones. Thank you so much for the positive feedback!
When we did the initial tour we were impressed, it is very clean, big and has a lot of natural light. It has that friendly, cozy, home like atmosphere to it, it does not feel like a hospital. They have a ton of activities, about three different things going on throughout the day that you can see posted up on their calendar.

February 21, 2022Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review. Our residents are our top priority, and we are so pleased you've had a great experience. Thanks again!
The friendliness of the staff and their care services get 6 stars, that was something that really stood out to us. Also the openness and airiness of the community was a big selling point.

November 12, 2021Wow, you made our day! Thank you for your kind words and for recommending our services. We strive to create great places to live for our residents and love hearing that we are achieving our goal!
My loved one lived here in independent living for a few years and it was a good experience. My loved one needed more care and their assisted living was more of a medical model and we were looking for something that was more homey.
Overall, the community is friendly. It's predominantly younger, single or widowed women who are very able and independent. That seems to be the type of person best suited for Baywinde. They try to have activities, but it's just he same ones over and over. Also, they're not thorough in notifying the residents of the activities ahead of time either. My loved one is confined to a wheelchair, and I had to hire an outside hourly contractor to move her around the building - to take her to activities, to the dining room, to the hairdresser. The contractor would charge for the whole time in the dining room or at the hairdresser, not just the 5-minute walk. She's not affiliated with Baywinde, but they recommended her, and she's like a quasi-employee, picking up where Baywinde falls short. So if you're a resident at Baywinde, you must be capable of getting around by yourself. It's very independent living. If you have more needs and are more dependent, then you're lost. Because of that, my loved one was alone in her room a lot. The dining room staff was pretty good, very nice and attentive. They tended to be younger, and it was nice for them to be around the residents. The daytime front desk person was kind of rude. But the other receptionists and greeters were very nice, and so were the business manager, director, and assistant director. The assistant director was new but was doing her best to make some outward improvements. The sales director was a compulsive over-promiser and under-deliverer, so you would get in there and suddenly realize some of the things he said Baywinde could/would do, they don't. My loved one was there during the pandemic when there was more pressure to keep things clean. Their housekeeping crew was pretty fast, but didn't really provide a thorough scrub down. The food was good on some days, others it wasn't. Overall, I know they provide a lot of things, but it seems really expensive. The place is 15 years old or so and needs some upgrades, - bathrooms, carpeting, walls/wallpaper, the dining room, etc. The inside just looks tired. I know the property has been sold several times, and I think the latest owners are kind of up to their eyeballs in debt service. But I don't think you'll really find a less expensive place either.

They have plenty of activities provided for residents to participate in. I checked out a few places and this was definitely the best one out of all of them. It is a good facility, everyone is friendly and she is happy. I would definitely recommend to others looking.

My parents chose them because of the location and it is month to month rather than having to pay a down payment. They have a 2 bedroom apartment and it is very nice for what they need. They activities are just starting to come back up since covid, but you do have to seek out the activities to be involved in them. They just switched chefs recently, they were really pleased before but there are some things that the new chef could use improvement on. Overall I would recommend to others looking.

Great Independent community - lovely apartments, lots to do. There is an aide service that is available at additional cost to assist residents with slightly higher needs. Willing to accommodate mom's unique needs.

June 9, 2021Thank you for sharing your experience with other families and seniors!
I would want others to know that my mother lost a dramatic amount of weight, they did not pursue the avenues they needed to in order to get her to eat better. They were serving it to her without cutting it up. I called the doctor and requested an order to have the food cut up and the facility had requested only finger foods. I realized she did not like half of the things that they were serving so I circled things I knew she would like. I was under the impression that it was all good quality foods and it was all processed. She started medications to try and gain weight and ended up falling and was found with a broken hop and broken leg. The caregiver who was supposed to be watching her had fallen asleep. To make it worse I did not get a call that any of this had happened, I got a call from the hospital. I reached out to the director to get my mothers things and they left her stuff on the front porch stuffed in black trash bags. Overall, I would tell others not to go here.

I think the facility was a great place, it was just not the right fit for us. We had a hard time with the billing person to get back to us after we moved my mother out because they were charging her for things when she was not there. So the communication was not the best from them and it was frustrating for us. Other than that, it is beautiful place and they are doing as a good of a job as they possibly can with covid. The move in process was easy.
