Ashlan village is a great place for your loved ones, the staff is wonderful and the administrator is very helpful! I would highly recommend this facility. Every time I have visited my mother at the facility there has not been a problem.

The activities are great, before COVID they have bible studies, church groups come in to sing, and other live entertainment. We really liked how friendly the staff was, everything is on one level so its very convenient. The food could use some improvements, the quality could be a little better.

Very nice facility and the staff was great to answer any questions I had. Well maintained but out of my budget at $110.00 per day plus additional cost for personal care.

I had a tour that I enjoyed and I liked the Executive Director, [Removed], he was a wonderful person. They are a private pay community and found out that at the time there was only one man and the rest were women. My husband needed to be around more men.

It was a good experience and they were very friendly. I was very interested but there was no opening right away. I really wanted to move him in there but the other option was to share a room and that was not going to happen. It is a beautiful facility and a little more upscale and the same pricing as other similar communitites

I encouraged my mother to make her own decision. I wanted her to go to a different facility with more activities and fewer frail, sick residents. However, she chose to go closer "to home" and where she already had 2-3 friends. It took over five years of talking to come to a comfortable place in which to make the decision. Do NOT wait until there is NO time. I mistakenly thought she had noticed that the residents were more frail than she. Her first day in the facility, she confided that she did not realize there were so many "old" people. My mother is 90 but is thankfully very independent and still drives on country roads. The only space available to her when we HAD to move, due to the sell of her home and property, was a 2-room suite. I think having the 2 rooms will help her mentally and emotionally in making a transition It does cost more. We have agreed to give it 3 -4 months and then assess the situation. The staff agrees and has placed her in the dining room with other residents who are in good health. On the plus side: she is safe; she is not alone out in the country; she made her own decisions (with me doing the paper work); the staff is wonderful and kind; the facility is clean and pretty inside and outside; there is a resident dog and cat; she likes the exercise program; the facility is on one level; she must walk to activities and the dining room (thus keeping active) but it is not too far; and the staff communicates with kindness but one has to ask questions -- no newcomer orientation. Lastly, it is only 1 hour away for me.

They have a very nice staff. The building is well kept and maintained and always clean. The activities seem appropriate and fun for the residents. The level of care for those who need care is excellent here.

I would have rated them a five, but they were a little expensive. Diane Elrod – the person I contacted – was extremely helpful. They did not miss any appointments. Our one issue was that my loved one didn’t like one of the care givers and they replace her fast enough.

It's gorgeous, it's only five and half years old. It was really impressive, they do super work there. It was clean and for the most part everyone was very friendly. They really did a great job. This is definitely a different picture than what nursing homes have traditionally been thought of as.

My father is a very difficult person to place. His dementia has taken very strange directions. I had to place him in a memory care unit. Ashlan Village walked with me through these tough decisions and times. Their director, Bob, has such a great demeanor. As for the care givers, I tip my hat to all of them. They always smile and have pleasant things to say (even though I know how my father really is). I believe this is an exceptional care facility.

We were just looking at the memory care section, the assisted living was not quite as great, it would rate at about a 4. The memory care section was wonderful, very nice looking, and everyone was very friendly. Unfortunately it was a bit more expensive than we were looking for, and they had no availability at the time we toured,

I call Kristin, the district manager I guess, and she never calls back. When we started out she found a new girl, she worked in a hamburger joint but had her CNA, brand new I guess, we got her and she was a very pleasant little girl but they offered her some kind of manager position at the hamburger joint. So then we got a girl whose been taking care of a woman upstate, Jean is her name and Jean is a terrific woman, she has a lot of experience. We weren't sure about some scheduling and pay checks, we agreed to do it by month but she misunderstood that so she sent the whole shmear down to me from the beginning. I finally called district headquarters, I called Atlanta and they said "no problem, we'll send you a monthly bill" so just little things all added up. The biggest disappointment was that little girl going and reliability and the question of the billing; there wasn't any doubt it would all get sorted out but I don't have time to do all of that.

It was too big and they didn't seem very attentive to me when I walked in. I had to stand around and wait for a long time before someone even asked me what I wanted.

Located in Greenville; talked to director - very nice, 30 years in business; all attempts for continuity of care; felt like more of a private organization
