My mom needed a short-term placement following a hospitalization before she went back home with my dad and we were not entirely sure if she could come home. We decided to do a 39 day trial. The staff at Arden Courts are very friendly, warm and accommodating. It was a good experience from intake to discharge. My mom did not need much care and she was able to come home earlier than expected.... Read more

I really love this community. As a service provider, I have frequented this building for many years. Arden is a community that really specializes in the care of Dementia/Alzheimer's patients. I find the staff to be knowledgeable, friendly and very caring. Many staff members have worked there for several years, which speaks to their commitment and level of experience in "memory care". The community itself is clean, bright, open, and lends itself to offering close supervision in a non-restrictive yet secured environment. I especially love the open spaces both inside and out that residents can freely enjoy. The activity programs keep residents stimulated and engaged throughout the day, offering a wide range of events for residents to participate in. When I meet with families to educate them on resources available to their loved one with Dementia, Arden Courts is a top recommendation I make for both respite and long term memory care.

As soon as I visited Arden Courts I liked it. It is clean and comfortable. The staff is pleasant and patient. My loved one has said it many times. There are many activities and visiting always reaffirms my opinion. Now that I’m getting to know the staff, I see that many have worked there for many years and take pride in their work.

This was to be a temporary placement for my husband while we awaited a bed in the Wilmington sister facility. The staff is outstanding. They truly understand dementia and Alzheimers patients, expect the behaviors, work to redirect and support the residents. We love that on nice days, the doors to the back yard area are open so residents can come and go. We are still wishing for some way that persons who have the ability to do PHYSICAL ACTIVITY can get that piece too. The staff has been helpful to me, working with me to solve problems and get things straight for my husband. They truly LIKE the residents! The food could be much better....more fresh fruit and vegetables...but it is adequate. It is a very long trip for me!

Placed my cousin in Arden Court at the suggestion of a Place for Mom. Their advice was pure gold. "If your family member has dementia, then only go to a facility that specializes in dementia." After having a very unsatisfactory care experience at another facility, transferring my cousin to Arden Court has made a dramatic difference for her. She is happy, relaxed and enjoying herself there. Their method of helping with Dementia has made a wonderful change and lifted a great burden from us.

I will stick to the facts. My husband was able to walk & feed himself when we arrived at Arden Ct. In one week of being there he was taken to the emergency room with a cut finger which needed stitches. They admitted him because he was dehydrated. After 5 days he was released back to Arden Ct in a wheel chair. He never walked again. Exactly 2 weeks later he was unresponsive & Arden Ct wanted to put him on hospice. I sent him back to the hospital to find out what was wrong. He was dehydrated & also had kidney failure. They gave him 2 weeks to live if they couldn't resolve his problem. Thankfully they did. He was in the hospital & on IV's only & was mostly unresponsive for a week. I told them he was not going back to Arden Ct. With the help of hospital staff we placed him in a wonderful skilled nursing facility where he has great care. He does not walk & needs to be fed a pureed diet but is eating & gets plenty of liquids. You asked - That was my nightmare at Arden Ct.
