There was some confusion a while back about supplies that my mom needs to purchase for herself. We were told that she did not have incontinence diapers. However, she had plenty of them and folks were simply not communicating across shifts regarding where things had been put away. Just better communication would be an improvement but it was not a huge deal.... Read more

I'm 50/50 on the facility. For assisted living, it seems just fine. For memory care, it seems like they just want to medicate the residents into a stupor to avoid having to deal with them.

[name removed] and [name removed] in activities are top notch! They are very caring and compassionate toward residents and do a wonderful job leading activities. They go out of the way to get residents to the activities and keep them engaged. Thank you for all you do. You are appreciated!

Making the decision to move to an assisted living home is not easy but we had to make ours during a period of high stress after many health set backs and several challenges nursing home stays. Lisa and her team at @Anthology of Farmington Hills finally brought some stability and support to our family. We considered several other places but I trusted Lisa and her years of experience working in assisted living. The staff at Anthology do what they say they are going to do to. Communication is easy and the team really tries to make the environment feel like a home. We use all of their recommended partners for home health care, medical and pharmacy. Keeps everything simple. The environment is decorated beautifully, it’s always clean, and the staff levels are consistent. Last and perhaps most important-the food is excellent. Their chef is awesome. They run a tight ship combining professionalism and personal care. Thank you everyone at Anthology.

Anthology of Farmington Hills is a beautiful facility w a great staff! In this after Covid times it is hard to find a facility that is fully staffed and with great and attentive staff! Their director [name removed] is a great leader and her team follows that lead. The memory care wing is staffed well as residents w dementia need more attention. Kudos to this great community!

Very happy with Anthology of Farmington Hills - some things are scattered (not everyone is on the same page from time to time). The staff are WONDERFUL. Housekeeping is one of the things where not everyone is on the same page. We were told full laundry service - reality is just beds (no towels or clothes). All of the residents like the meals. Communication with the family is pretty good. When something DOES happen there are calls from 6 or 7 different people, however until something happens no one told me what was going on that lead to the issue in the first place. Overall - I think mom is in very good hands there. I would highly recommend this facility to others.

There is no leadership or training for the care staff. This is not the fault of the care staff. My sister and I train caregiver after caregiver. They leave because they are not trained and then blamed for resident complaints about care. The food is awful. You can hear the residents complain about the meals everyday. Ask to see menus from the past months, not examples of what might be on the menu. Inquire about caregiver turnover and training. Does the facility use agency services to fill gaps in caregiver schedules, if not, ask why? Inquire about exact destinations for transportation services. For example, if they have in-house beauty services will they still transport a resident to their legacy beauty stylist?

The people here are amazing! It’s the leadership - we worked with [name removed] and [name removed]- that sets the tone. They are so professional and go WAY beyond any expectations. We moved my mom from NJ to Anthology, and they made it so easy for us during such a challenging time. I wholeheartedly recommend Anthology of Farmington Hills. We are so lucky to be with them in care for my mom.

The facility is very nice. The common areas are clean, bright and modern. The administrative staff is competent, friendly, easy to access and helpful. The dining room is lovely and the food is good with many choices. Overall the care staff is very good. One problem is that the care staffing is not enough, but that is common at all these senior living places. Overall my parents have had a very good experience at Anthology.

Response from Anthology of Farmington Hills
March 15, 2023Thank you for sharing your experience. We appreciate your feedback and will pass it along to our team.
My in-laws have been at Anthology for a couple of months and we are so happy with their decision to move. My MIL has Alzheimer's and her day to day care has become too challenging for my 87 year old FIL. The leadership at Anthology of Farmington Hills has been stellar. They have guided us thru this most difficult transition with kindness and caring. [name removed]and [name removed]have been so attentive to our family's needs and concerns along the way. We are so happy with our decision.

Response from Anthology of Farmington Hills
March 14, 2023We're thrilled to hear about the positive impact our community is having on your family. The amazing people living and working here truly make it feel like home, one where all our residents can be comfortable. Thank you so much for the positive feedback!
The nursing staff is horrible. We have had issues with medication management and the communication with the nursing staff. In fact the family is taking the medication management back over. There is no systems in place for follow up, and there have been times my loved one has run out of medication and the staff haven't called the family to notify us. There are times the staff haven't responded in the promised average time of 7 minutes to the call button when our loved one has pushed the call button. The residents don't have options to choose from for meals. There is always an alternate meal available if the resident doesn't care for the special that is being served. There are meals times for the residents to dine. There has been a high turnover of staff here.

Response from Anthology of Farmington Hills
March 14, 2023Thank you for the wonderful review! We work hard to meet expectations like yours, and we’re happy to hear we hit the mark for you.
This facility is clean, overall. It's a new building. For the cost, I expected a little bit more. The staff is ok. The food quality seems ok. I haven't tried it, so I'm not sure about the taste. My mom does mention that sometimes it tastes good and others not so good. I think salt/seasoning might have something to do with it. But I can understand why they don't use it as much, for resident health reasons. Housekeeping could improve, as far as cleanliness of her room. I visit regularly and her room isn't what I would call spotless. I'm sure some of it is due to my mom and her condition, but I still feel like it could be a little more clean. Communication with the family is ok. In my experience, I'm the one who has to initiate it most times. They're good about responding/giving me answers most of the time. At this point, I'm not sure if I would recommend them to family and friends. I'm still trying to get a feel for the facility and how well it's run.

Anthology is a good facility. They can be short-staffed at times. But the food is excellent. And I'm happy with our choice to place our loved one here.

November 11, 2022Thank you for the positive review, Debra! We work hard to meet expectations like yours, and we’re happy to hear we hit the mark for you.
Anthology of Farmington Hill is a brand new facility so it has all the bright and shiny things, the rooms are nice and it has all the amenities your loved one may need and the assistance your loved one may need. It could be a little less expensive it is pricy, but for the quality of the care and the safeness it brings it is worth it.

Response from Anthology of Farmington Hills
November 11, 2022Thank you for the positive review! We are glad your loved one is enjoying all the benefits and amenities that Anthology of Farmington Hills offers. We absolutely love having them here. All the best!
Anthology of Farmington Hills was not open yet, so we toured in the sales office. The staff we met were fine, and Anthology was our second choice. They just simply weren't open yet during the timeframe we needed them, and the location was farther from our family.

A Place for Mom has scored Anthology of Farmington Hills 9 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
