American House is just a short drive from Farmington, Farmington Hills, Southfield, Redford, and Livonia, and the community offers independent living, assisted living, and memory care services in a cozy and secure setting.
The staff of American House Farmington Hills prides themselves on providing high-quality services in an environment of socialization and volunteerism. The dedicated staff is committed to providing attentive care while assisting residents with various activities of daily living. Services include three meals served daily, as well as housekeeping, laundry, and transportation. Several different levels of care are offered based on the needs of each resident, and customized care plans are created. The facility charged over [removed] per month for full assistance yet many days they did not assist my mother with her bath's, take her down to meals or make sure she took her medicine and I also found pills on the floor. All of this was discussed with the facility. I would not recommend this facility to anyone needing additional help. It's okay for people who don't need assistance. For those you need transport to the dining, help with bathing and medication - this is not the place to put your elderly parents.

American House has been a great experience. We feel a sense of comfort that my mom is cared for, has access to activities that she enjoys, and is making some new friends there.

I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones. This is a good value for me. Each American House depends on the location and community. This is the best one I have been at. This a good location, it can be hard to get deliveries. The community has transportation available for the residents. There is a podiatrist and barber that come to the community.

They have friendly staff, great activities. The residents seemed happy. The location was too far from family.
We toured American House and thought it was an overall five. We chose another community because American House did not have what we were looking for.
we toured American House and it only lasted about 10-15 minutes, whereas other communities took their time. the assisted living units were on the second floor, but the elevator was broken. the staff member(s) we interacted with just didn't seem interested in or eager to show us an in depth tour. she didn't willingly provide any information about the community or what they had to offer. we chose another community because American House didn't have what we were looking for.
I would recommend the community to others, for their loved ones. The staff take great care of the residents. It would be nice to have a stronger Physical Therapy program here. Some of the activities include bingo, entertainment, and more for the residents to choose from.

Our loved one is thriving at American House, he is back to having his own sense of freedom and independence. Our loved one started to decline at a previous community due to the lack of stimulation, but coming here he has regained all of the strength that was lost. They cook all of his meals and clean up, he has his own living space, with a nice kitchen. He can come and go as he pleases, and still can receive their medical care when needed.

Toured here over the holiday weekend. Such a beautifully updated ranch style senior home. The staff was so welcoming and friendly. We are looking for my mom who needs a setting such as this.

My 93-year-old mother-in-law was very impressed with how clean everything was, the wide hallways, the lack of smell, the beautiful assisted living and independent living apartments, the reasonable rates, the available shuttle bus, and the friendliness of the staff.

The medical team was good but I wished they would have made my dad do more for himself. He asked them to do things he should have been doing for himself as he is rehabbing from a stroke

My favorite thing about this community is how lovely and perfect the apartments they have to offer are. They are very spacious inside and is very easily accessible for people with wheelchairs or that may have a handicap. The floor plan was very well designed and had the perfect size kitchen for my loved ones. We where all set up to move into this complex,however we had a family emergency and could no longer make the move.

This holiday we toured with Rita the weekend manager for my mom. This community is beautiful inside and out. It appears everyone is so attentive. Rita had cookies and a gift waiting for us at the end of the tour which I felt was so perfect. We left a deposit for main part of the community. We had toured 4 other places and this will be her new home.
