Our experience with Addington Place has been absolutely wonderful. Every person working there still greets us with a smile. They know that I am there to see my mom and her name (she is in memory care) and all workers, even those in assisted living ask about her and us. One thing we noticed immediately on our first visit is that even the residents greet you and smile. We were very worried about how she would settle in but in 2 days the staff had her comfortable and feeling “at home”. They have encouraged her to become friends with other residents, which is working out great. We just can’t say enough about how much we appreciate the way they are helping us take care of our mom. The nursing have kept us updated on my mom's health concerns. She'll be 92 next month and is experiencing a decline. Their attention to detail has helped us response to her conditions sooner.

Addington Place felt like a home as soon as you walked into it. The staff was amazing & took great care of my mother-in-law. They were kind & patient, and got her involved in activities daily. It was clean, smelled good & was very open & bright.

For the one I rated 3: My dad likes the food just fine, but I think it could be better. That seems to be common in assisted living facilities? And as far as the value: I don't know how to rate it fairly--it's pricey, yes, but all facilities like this are--even the less nice ones. So relatively it's not out of line, but of course it's naturally costly. It's very clean, and it smells amazing in there?? It doesn't look, feel, smell or seem like a "facility"--it really is a home with a big family. The staff are great! They're really involved with the residents--not just with care, but also with a activities, etc. There has been some turnover at the top, after the facility's ownership company changed. I still don't know what's up with that? It's a pretty, light, bright, happy place. After having been in two other facilities before, this one is by far the best in all categories, except price, and that's really because they don't cap care costs.

Facility is nice but there is a lot of lazy staff in memory care and not trained to work with Dementia. There are a few good ones but am still a little disappointed. We visit weekly and parents smell. Mother does not shower or brush teeth. We tell them this is not getting done and still they slack. They also over medicated my father one day but fixed it. I just wish they would clean them better.

My dad is currently a resident at Addington Place of Lee's Summit and I have no complaints. The fact that they have put up with my dad this long speaks to the staff's patience. If you have to put your loved one in a Memory Care facility, Addington Place of Lee's Summit is a great place. I would recommend it to others.

I really like the staff, but I'm not sure about the administration. Some of the things they do /rules don't make any sense for the residents. The staff that care for my mom are fantastic. Staff is great. Food is 50/50. Activities are good but could be better.

Loved the facility and staff but admin was not forthcoming that they could and would refuse to take our mom back in facility after a fall. Not always the cleanest. Constant water leak in ceiling in hall, water pressure issues. The staff was very friendly. Npn was amazing. Staff could be lazy. Staffing issues happened frequently. The food was ok but kitchen never sent enough for entire population in memory care. Didn't promote liquid intake and had multiple uti and dehydration. For the amount of money spent expected better.

It was wonderful for my father. Everyone was kind and helpful. We picked this community because I liked the smaller, and family feel of the place. I would recommend to other families.

The community reminded me of a traditional old folks home, and was more expensive than we wanted to spend.
Our family had an in person tour and it was a nice tour, they have a center area with a courtyard but other than that they don't really have any other gathering areas.
The care staff are excellent; they're really good at taking care of everyone and I really like that. I'm not very thrilled with the activities people and the food. But I do feel if resident cause a stink a little bit, they can get that taken care of. We have a unique situation, my mom came from a big assisted living community that was very fancy, had so many things going on, and really good food. So it is hard for her to like the food at this place. My mom and a couple other women told the new director that the food is horrible and they've tried to correct it, but it hasn't been the best. My mom loves her apartment; she has the bigger premium one, and I like it as well. There's enough storage space & room, a nice big bathroom, a bedroom that's a good size, a living room, and a small kitchen. I feel very comfortable having my mom there.

Don't go there. The response from call lights has been long. My loved ones things have came up missing from his room. Housekeeping comes once a week. Laundry is picked up regularly. This is all on one floor. The residents are allowed to have pets. Transportation is provided for doctors appointments as well as outings. They need to improve their meals. The big meal is lunch and no dinner just a snack like chicken nuggets. Another time was a small bowl of soup and piece of bread. That was it. No salads, no fresh fruits. Management is pretty poor. It was just purchased by another company. Hopefully this changes.

This was a short experience for us at Addington Place. The little time that my loved one spent here was good. The community works well with hospice. The staff were very caring towards my loved one.

We loved Addington Place. I wish we would have gone with this facility in the first place. Our loved one had a bad experience at the place we chose and we wanted to move him here, but he decided to get home care services instead. It seems like a great place.
I have already told others to look into Addington Place for their loved ones. The staff stand out to me. The communication with the staff is good and they keep me well informed. My loved one seems to enjoy the food here.

We chose Addington Place of Lee's Summit at the time because of the overall feel that I had when I toured the facility. We are very happy with it. Everyone is super caring and they want to do everything they can to make sure residents are comfortable and happy. Both of my parents are here, my dad is in memory care and my mom is in assisted living. They help my folks to have meals together and visit with each other. Yesterday was their 69th wedding anniversary and I took flowers and cards up there and they made sure they were delivered and they had a dinner together and the staff sang to them and made them a special desert. They do have a portal where they let you know what activities they have participated in and they post pictures on that and respond to comments which is helpful. I would definitely recommend to others.

The friendliness of the staff members varied from time to time, the workers during the day and night time staff were fantastic, but the management was not good. Our loved one was in the memory care during the day so there wasn't really any activities, but from our understanding the assisted living had a pretty good program for activities. The food would be a three out of five, they did seem to have fairly well balanced meals. One criticism we did have was the iceberg lettuce they served for every salad, that had no nutritional value, as well as the canned vegetables. For the memory care residents they sometimes were given difficult food items to eat. Our loved one was in there for only day care, and we were able to see the rooms and they were very nice. The facility and layout is gorgeous it is really just a beautiful facility.

Please think twice about putting your loved in the memory care unit here! We had my mom in here for 7 months and should have moved her long ago. Addington Place of Lees Summit is very understaffed. They hire only the minimum required patient to staff ratio which is simply not enough for memory care. The facility is dirty! The furniture in the common area is heavily soiled. When we visited we NEVER sat on it. It's gross. The carpet is equally bad!. They never cleaned my mom's room. Our family always had to do it, even the bathrooms. They leave dirty, urine soaked laundry in the rooms for days and the smell is sickening. Their website is very misleading with claims of a "highly trained staff" ! Absolutely not true. We've moved my mom out of there and are so glad we did! Her new doctor in her new place was shocked at how much medication they had mom on! They literally kept her drugged 24 hours a day! We are now working with removing some of the meds and weaning her off of others. They were crushing pills and feeding to mom in applesauce that were medications which NEVER should be crushed! They had her on medications that were not meant for anyone over the age of 65. Mom is 85. PLEASE don't trust this place for your loved one!!
