Things are going good. The staff is really nice and the place is really clean, and there is no odor. They are very attentive, and they are very helpful with her. The food is very good too.

We're very thankful to have found a new Board & Care home for our mom especially with assistance of Erin Ruiz of 'A Place For Mom'. The transition went well and staff at the home really made my mom feel welcome. The administrators, Adina and John, along with Olga, one of their caretakers we met, are quite friendly and helpful. The home is well taken care of and daily activities are provided that my mom likes.

Things are good here. Mom's only complaint is the food, she says all of the food that they serve is soft and mushy type of food (Cream of Wheat, etc). She misses traditional family food with more consistency. I think they do this because of the choking factor, but I wish they'd offer both. The staff is good. Sometimes there's a communication problem due to thick accents. But they do work with my mom really well. The facility itself is not in the best condition and could use some touching up such as painting/shades on the windows, etc. Housekeeping and laundry are included and done very well. I would recommend this facility to friends and family looking for a reasonably priced facility without all of the extras.

What are care homes?

Residential care homes are houses in residential neighborhoods that are equipped, adapted, and staffed to care for a small number of residents, usually between two and 10. Like assisted living communities, staff at care homes typically help residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and medication management. Although residential care homes vary significantly depending on the community, services usually include:

  • Help with personal care
  • Medication management
  • Mobility assistance
  • Nutritious meals
  • Social activities and outings
  • Housekeeping
  • Laundry
