Assisted Living
This is an upscale assisted living facility with excellent staff, food, and activities which are appropriate and enriching to residents.
Management is 100% understanding of everything. They were very interested in why were were moving from another community and what my loved one's needs were. The staff are caring. They constantly check in. Their scheduling is phenomenal. They rely on emergency bracelets as opposed to calls to the front desk, and that took a lot of patience on their end in training my loved one in how to utilize that system. But they did so with caring, kindness, and empathy, which was great to see. Her apartment is nice, and she says the food is great. The staff come up to escort her to meals and make sure she knows the way to the dining room. She sits and talks with people at meals and already has made some friends. I think management plays a pivotal role in assimilation as people leave independent living and move into assisted living. It's an entirely new lifestyle they have to get used to, and I felt very confident in leaving my loved one there with them.
Mom barely eats. Her meals are soup and deserts. I think she has been assessed higher than she should be. They give her one pill a day. I think initially she was going to get more medical attention. I do not get a weekly or monthly call from the medical, nursing or hospice staff on her condition. I need to talk to management about that. I visit her every other day so I can assess how she is being cared for and how clean she and her room are, It's a very good place. I'm glad and relieved that she is there. My mom is not easy and they all managed to win her over. Her clothes and bedding is always clean. Her hair is washed. It's all wonderful and as advertised.
